Yenakiyeve
 
 
(ynk´yv) (KEY) , Rus. Yenakiyevo, city (1989 pop. 120,000), SE Ukraine, on the Krynka River. It is a center for coal, iron, and steel industries, and for coke-based chemical production in the Donets Basin. Yenakiyeve was founded in 1853 as a pig-iron production site, but flourished after the 1883 opening of its coal mines.
