Introduction In today’s financial landscape, consumers are faced with an overwhelming array of rewards credit cards, making it difficult to choose the best option for their spending habits. According to Credit Karma (2023), the market offers a wide variety, including 53 cash back cards, 12 miles cards, and 20 points cards. This diversity, while beneficial, presents challenges due to the complexity of reward systems, each offering different returns. A study by Experian (2017) highlighted that 69% of individuals find the process of selecting a new credit card excessively time-consuming, 61% are overwhelmed by the number of available options, and 57% struggle to find a card that aligns with their specific needs. Moreover, many consumers are not fully utilizing their rewards, with Black (2022) revealing that 69% of reward credit card holders are not maximizing potential benefits, indicating a clear market gap for a solution like BetterSwipe. This solution aims to leverage users’ transaction histories to develop a personalized expenditure profile, offering tailored recommendations for reward credit cards that best match users’ spending habits, taking into account factors like credit score and current card ownership.
