(will be temporary) Pay Grade: Exempt, Grade VI Job Purpose: Coding medical documents Job Responsibilities and Tasks: Ensuring that codes are assigned correctly and sequenced appropriately as per government and insurance regulations Following medical coding guidelines and policies Receiving and reviewing patients’ charts and documents for verification and accuracy Finishing the desinated amount of coding document on time , according t the goal the manager sets Communicating with team Job Qualifications: Preferable can do both Outpatient coding and Inpatient Coding 1 years of coding experience ICD-10-CM/PCS, CPT, AND HCPCS coding experience needed Experience with document imaging in EHR (dealing with paper records)
Are versed in medical terminology, disease processes, and pharmacology concepts. Has a CCA or CCS or Bacholers in Mecial Coding Job Context: Comfortable with working in home or on site Can work under pressure Can work well in team enviroment Having consistent good quality work Can work fast pace Updated standards for coding quality and productivity: Inpatient Coders- 4 charts per hour with 95 percent accuracy Outpatient Coders- 6 charts per hour with 95 percent accuracy Coder- Codes both inpatient and outpatient records 5 charts per hour with 98 percent accuracy Note. Utilize one of the job description templates provided within appendix B of the text as a guide when creating the new job description . Make sure to include updated standards for coding quality and productivity within the job description.
