1) PLANNING FOR MEDICAL SCHOOL - PHSRC The section that I found the most useful was everything under the “preparations'' tab. It explains in depth the prerequisites and the preparation overall needed for medical school. It also talks about different possible routes such as a gap year after school, or the possibilities of applying to many different medical schools. I think its very important to consider the many different life paths that people are on and this workshop caters to the many tracks and possible directions people's lives can head in. There are so many possibilities after undergrad such as studying abroad or even taking a gap year and that is also highlited. I think it's great that there was a highlighted section discussing what happens if you don't get into medical school, and a reapplicants story. Under this “preparations” tab, it includes MCAT information and how to prepare as well as the content to prepare for. I will use this information to help study for the MCAT and prepare for medical school. I wasn't able to find the ranking of medical schools in the United States and their individual acceptance rates. After doing a quick google search I was able to find the information as it changes from year to year. After reviewing the Medical School Action Plan, I am left with no unanswered external, only internal ones. Many questions about the application process for medical school such as the content to study and possible directions to head in were answered. The only thing left is my own personal question of when I will take the MCAT and apply to medical school which is something I am not 100% sure on. I will find the answer to this question once I fully create a detailed plan with a timeline on my own personal time. 2) UNIVERSITY OF MN MEDICAL SCHOOL While looking at the University of Minnesota Medical School profile, I was able to find that the average MCAT score for UMTC medical students is 512 with an average GPA of 3.76. Comparatively, the average MCAT score for Duluth medical students is 506 with an average GPA of 3.76 as well. The total number of students enrolled in the UMNTC Medical school is176 out of 2,865 total applicants. There are 65 students enrolled in the Duluth Medical School out of 696 applicants. These numbers tell me that the UMNTC medical school is much more competitive than duluth. There were much fewer applicants to the medical school in Duluth telling me it's a less competitive school. I can use this information to my benefit when I apply in the future. The first thing that is very important to me on the “Why Minnesota” page, is the diverse patient populations. I am a Minnesota born somali-american and I am fluent in
