What is the research question and/or hypothesis(es )? This research was needed due to recent statistics stating that children of a Latino background are diagnosed at a much later age than others. There are many disadvantages with a late diagnosis as well as the lack of knowledge about services, poor health care, and language barriers may negatively impact their experience with ABA therapy. This study was done to gain information on the experiences of accessing and maintaining ABA therapy. The research question would be if Latino families have a greater disadvantage when it comes to accessing and maintaining ABA therapy. 9.0 pts What participants are used for this study/researc h? How many? Race? Gender? Age? Other demographics The participants for this study included 28 Latino families from Massachusetts that had a child, 8-years old or younger, with ASD. NOTE: Needs to be described so have a clear picture of what was done. A structured interview was completed. Scoring was completed by two interviewers. Two recorders scored the interviewer’s responses from the structured interview using REDcap’s Double Data Entry Module. The two records were compared using the data comparison tool. An agreement was determined by the first author and then a merged final record was created for analysis. The data were summarized using frequency count and percentages were calculated per each response. 9.0 pts

Please quantify if this is given? Was the research hypothesis(es ) supported, or not? Most parents that participated in this study stated that their child received a diagnosis around the time they noticed a- typical development being around 2 years of age. One-third of the families in this study stated their child was not receiving. Majority of those that were receiving services reported that they were receiving less than 16 hours per week. Some parents also reported that they either did not know about ABA services or did not know if their child was still eligible to receive services. 9.0 pts Critique: Overall, what is your evaluation of this research article regarding the clarity of questions asked, participants and methods used, and its findings? Were the I think this research was well completed. I do think there should be participants that live in other places rather than just Massachusetts. However, I think the study was organized and easy to follow. I also think the participants were described well. The participants used were bilingual but ones that can communicate the English language better may have access to more services as well as know more about it just because of the fact of better communication. I think the questions were adequately answered. 9.0 pts
