Observations are important tool to Social Work practise as it lets you identify any milestones that haven’t been achieved that the child at the specific age should be meeting. From the previous 4 childhood development classes that I have taken at West Los Angeles College, I had to do approximately one observation for each class. However, since these classes’ focuses more on the development of a child’s brain, learning about all the different philosophers, and learning about lesson plans, none of those classes paid much attention to observations until the assignment came around.
