The Indian Ocean, considered the third largest ocean, is located between Australia and Antarctica. This Ocean is a major sea lane connecting the Middle East, East Asia and Africa with Europe and the Americas. The Ocean is essential because of its location. The location helps to boast the production of trade global around the world. It is rich with resources such as natural oil and marine life. The ships that travel the ocean contain over half the world’s international trade cargo and shipment. The trade system is the way of life for people all over
Between 650 C.E. and 1450 C.E., trade and interaction in the Indian Ocean was the largest in the world. Although the Indian Ocean trade network was small when it first began, the network was able to expand and led to the inclusion of Europe while the exchange of ideas, goods and religion remained constant. During this time period, the construction of large and powerful states provided security for merchants and travelers, which helped long-distance commerce. The golden ages of numerous powerful states also led to the flourishing of ideas.

The Dutch East India Trading Company and the British East India Company had several similarities between the two. An obvious similarity was the fact that they were both trading companies that were located within east India. Some other similarities include that they both traded raw materials. Another similarity between the two was that they had people work on farms for them in order to get their cash crops. Adding to the cash crops, many farmland would be taken over by cash crops.
Early in history, the Indian Ocean was an arena for trade between countries. Most of the people were Muslim, but Hindus, Christians, Jews, and Chinese likewise had a role in trade network. When the Portuguese stared to participate in the trade, they could have just trade like all the other counties, but they chose not to. The Portuguese soon realized that most of the ships in the Indian Ocean weren’t heavily armed and the Portuguese took advantage of this. Since the Chinese withdrew the fleet from the Indian Ocean, there was no longer a major power. The Portuguese wanted to be the new major power. Since they were the only ship with enough cannon power, they started to set up bases in East Africa, Hormuz, west coast of India, Southeast Asia, and Macao on the south east coast of China.
A general idea of the size and variety of trade in the Indian Ocean basin can be formed from the documents provided. Accounts from Fernandez de Figueroa and Duarte Barbosa as well as letters from the English East India Company outline the practice of trade in the Indian Ocean and South Asia from the late 1400s to the mid-1700s. During this time, Western societies had a greater impact on the South Asia societies than vice versa.

The opening of trade on the Silk Road was caused by China’s desire for upgrade for top-tier horses (technological), the Parthian state’s desire to control the Mesopotamian markets (political), and caravan cities that are between these two empires that help support and supply traders (geographical). An important industry that also started was the breeding of hybrid camels. These camels became critical for trade, because they held favorable traits that made them stronger and adaptable for work on the Silk Road. Trade in the Indian Ocean Maritime System was attributed to those who lived around the Indian Ocean rather than those that lived in the Mediterranean. Early Sumerian records show trade between islands of the Persian Gulf and the Indus River valley. However, this trade broke off, and Mesopotamians often referenced East Africa than India. The primary use of the Indian Ocean Maritime System was for population movement to different lands (Madagascar and Africa) as well as the exchange of goods and ideas.
Import duties can have an adverse effect on the end cost to the customer so these need to be taken in to account when presenting any quotes or tenders for work. The country of origin can be an issue with some of our customers as on occasion there has been expressed a reticence to trade with Indian produced products. The WTO and WCO guidelines and agreements on Rules of Origin allow us to move forward with contracts by dual production, this enables the company to produce products to a certain state of completion in India, then import to the UK branch and finish production giving the component a UK origin. Knowledge of the rules of origin agreed by the WTO alongside any Free Trade or Regional Trade agreements is necessary to evaluate the required work or percentage increase in value, or significant change in appearance to change the commodity code to enable this to be possible.

Giant toy stores since they do not manufacture their own products, attempt to develop brand loyalty to the stores themselves. The shopping experience itself is now sold to consumers. Retailers want customers to think of their stores as a destination, not a mere outlet for the distribution of products. Their goal is to move attention away from the products sold, which are available anywhere, even over the Internet, to the place where the products are sold. Diamond Toys, one of such specialty toy shops in USA emphasizes status, high quality, unique merchandise and excellent service. Their goal is to attract a wealthy, cosmopolitan clientele seeking unique, high-quality toys sold by solicitous, knowledgeable service workers. Hence, stores in the Diamond Toys chain are generally located in upscale shopping districts in major cities and are built to resemble amusement parks making them appeal to tourists as well as to the wealthy. Hence, the image the store wants to build for itself, the clientele it wishes to serve, play a major role in deciding store locations. A store which is interested in building an image of value for money and offers large discounts will probably locate itself in the city outskirts and depend upon the discount and variety if offers to lure customers to make the trip
