After discussing the solutions for the main problem which is de-motivation, advantages and disadvantages of each solution will be stated. The first solution is increasing salaries, by this way employees will be motivated and will put all their effort in the work they are doing as extrinsic motivation is required. Extrinsic motivation is when a person is motivated by external factors such tangible rewards. Workers from other companies might also leave there jobs and come to Harrods as they offer better salaries. The disadvantage of increasing the salary is that it will cost the company a lot of money. A reason why Harrods is so effective today is that it gives its employees a voice for change. All employees are encouraged to give feedback on each part of how Harrods works such as: 1- Internal employee magazine": your Harrods" which is a prevalent and imaginative magazine for employees with another starter list, interviews with key individuals, individual previews , charity feature, an agony aunt section and interesting competitions. 2. Morning meeting: informing shop floor groups about what is going on that day and the most recent sales statistics. 3. Intranet: sharing information with employees. Employees have the ability to select which part they focus on "instead of having information pushed on them". 4. Quarterly employee forum: A group made up of employee volunteers. Empowers employees to present issues and add to organization technique. 5. Other forms of employee voice: "bright ideas" plan which voice encourages employees to share creative thoughts to further progress
