Argumentative Water Essay
There is a water crisis which faces many parts of the world and it is a threat to survival of human beings since humans are primarily dependent on water. Shortage in drinking water is beginning to show its effects in first world countries, but is a current major problem facing lesser developed countries which have not taken drastic steps to harvest water and purify it to make it safe for human consumption. In developed countries the population growth has strained available water resources and stretched the ability of governments and private firms to provide safe drinking water to the vast majority of the population. Seventy one percent of

Many populations, the majority being in Africa, face many water-borne diseases mainly due to pollution of water resources. The option then becomes to either drink polluted water or not have anything at all. Continual Human development such as population growth and industrial growth have further drained water resources, causing a shortage of drinking water. As a result, there are many conflicts over ownership of water resources and these lead to injuries or fatalities.(2) As mentioned before, this shows why it is so important to find a solution to the issue of water shortage.
In the United States, the available water resources is also under assault. Half of water collected and stored by existing infrastructure is usually used in the production of electricity. This forces the population to use and divide what little there is left. This has always been a “good enough” approach until now, when water prices and population is on the rise.(3) There are already calls for charging water resources in order to increase efficiency of use.(3) Water protection is already being carried out and has been for years, but there is still water pollution occurring within the United States. After the Civil war, America strived to provide its population with clean water
Water is one of the most precious resources, which support the life of almost everything in the world. Indeed, the world is covered by 75% water, but most of this water is not suitable for human consumption or use. On the same note, the world has been increasing its consumption of water due to the increasing population, leading to increased demands. The increased water consumption, which has been a result of high population, is worrying because the matter may lead to massive water shortages in the future.
The author of "Water" develops their claim by giving their argument, stating water-related challenges, arguing the right to water, setting goals, and lastly, explaining the importance of water to hygiene and sanitation. In order to raise awareness, the author gives staggering facts about the issue and possible solutions. This author uses informative yet convincing language pointing his article at an audience who is researching the problem or those who would like to contribute to the
Water, like food, is a necessity for human life that is used for many purposes such as agricultural, industrial, and domestic systems. While water is a common element around the world not all of it is clean and able to be consumed or used by humans. With only a percentage of the world’s water being clean and the use of water increasing, the availability of water around the world has become a common issue in the developing and even the developed world. This may be a smaller problem in areas close to clean water sources compared to areas far from a clean water source but, the availability of water is not strictly based on location, it also depends on the specific political and social needs and issues of the area as well. These all become issues that must be accounted for when deciphering whether water is a basic human right or a commodity and what action must be taken to aid the developing water systems in community’s that lack them.
As you all may know president-elect Donald Trump will soon be inaugurated, congress plans to cope with the lame-duck period which is the post obama era. The government is preparing bills that will help things run smoothly for him when he enters office. One of the things top on their list is the water systems in cities that are poisoned by lead. The Congress plans to introduce many bills that will help the country run better and help more people out.
Lack of water and conflict with water rights have instigated wars and political tension especially in the Middle East and Africa, as well as promoting unlikely cooperation to ensure its availability. Also, natural water bodies like lakes mark international
In recent years not only is the complex issue of water scarcity a widespread issue but
Water is the protection of life. Many countries are lack of water ,and many people do not know how to cherish water in our country .A lot of people to waste water every day, since all of them just take it for granted. We should consider that Water- poor countries are faced with the seriousness of water problem and how much water they can handle, and are also focused at how to adopt measures to facilitate a continuous supply of clean water to developing countries.
The water crisis in the world is increasing, and it will continue to increase if something is not done. Water makes up approximately seventy-one percent of Earth’s surface. This does not include the water underground. Everyday water is being taken more than it is being put in, and people have a large role in this. Climate change, the number of people in the world, and water wasted is among the uppermost causes of the water crisis. It is simple, if you do not have water, you will eventually die. The water crisis is a health crisis for everyone globally.
“Water has always been man’s most indispensable natural resource” (Solomon 3). Despite its substantial nature, water has frequently been misallocated, mismanaged, misused and undervalued by a great number of societies in the civilized world. In accordance with Solomon, the civilization has reached a global crisis point in terms of both quality of water and its quantity. Both in water-poor and water-rich communities, people are now directly positioned in water scarcity age. Although, the book “Water: the Epic Struggle for Wealth, Power and Civilization” ensures a timely warning for modern societies that all would receive benefit from a less careless water treatment, but the author argues that “while the risk of water war in this most thirsty and politically combustible of regions is high, it is not inevitable. The existential threat posed by water scarcity is so palpable that it generates opposing cooperative instincts for mutual survival as well” (Solomon 412), but it is hard to agree with the position of the author on this question, as it is well-known fact that the Middle East area is an extremely conflict war zone, where water may become one of the apples of discord and initiate a new war.
In the present world, water has become a highly contested resource. It is no secret that we are consuming much more water than humanity originally intended. Consumerism is such a prevalent factor in today 's society, which is why multi-billion dollar companies thrive at economic development. As a global population we are shackled by society, forced to conform to the materialistic viewpoints that were adapted from prior generations. The trend will inevitably continue if we do not begin to challenge our society, as well as economy. Water is one of the only resources that humanity is
Across the globe there are approximately six hundred and sixty three million people who lack access to clean, safe drinking water. Water is essential to life and a basic human right that everyone, regardless of status or location, should have. Water scarcity has begun to increase with the growth of population and agricultural industry. This scarcity is affecting humans across the globe, even in wealthy industrialized countries. The overuse of water in homes, on farms, and in the workplace has put a burden on the natural environmental systems that keep civilizations going, forcing people to take action. Water scarcity continues to be a modern tragedy worldwide; however, global efforts provide hope for many through their continued outreach programs to bring water to people in need and fix the broken system that has been adopted.
Water is becoming a precious commodity around the world. “Throughout to world, water is recognized as the most fundamental and indispensable of all natural resources and it is clear that neither social and economic development, nor environmental diversity, can be sustained without water” (Ashton 1). Water is becoming scarce throughout the world. “Water scarcity is when an individual does not have access to safe affordable water to satisfy her or his needs for drinking, washing or their livelihoods…”(Rijsberman 1).
Water is a necessity to basically every living being in the world, both human and nonhuman. Without this valuable resource, almost everything would perish in the world. Roughly 1.2 billion people worldwide lack access to potable water. Around 80% of ocean pollution enters our seas from the land. Any human activity can have an effect on the quality of our water environment. “One fifth of the world’s population consumes four-fifths of the world’s resources, leaving four-fifths of the world’s population with only one-fifth of the available resources” (Environmental Justice). Personal care products and pharmaceuticals, such as birth control pills, painkillers and antibiotics, are causing concern on the water quality.
In a world that’s over 70% covered with water, it’s hard to believe that there could ever be a water crisis. However, with 98% of the Earth’s water being undrinkable, that only leaves less than 3% of this water drinkable and with over 7 billion people on this planet, well, it can start to get scarce. Ever since humans have been on this Earth, especially during the Industrial and Agricultural Revolution, they have become the number one largest polluter on the planet. Whether it be from agricultural runoff, oil spills, even deforestation, humans are digging themselves a hole that will only get harder to dig themselves out of as time goes on. As this path of pollution continues, humans are creating crises all over the globe, from the drinking
Fresh drinking water makes up a small portion of the total water that is on Earth. Only 2.5 percent of all the water on Earth can be classified as fresh drinking water, while the rest of the water on Earth is saline. On top of only being a very small amount of fresh drinking water available on Earth, less than half of this water is accessible. Because of human’s inefficient use of water coupled with our exploding population the amount of water available to humans has continued to decrease. Water needs to be conserved, managed, and distributed effectively and water privatization is not the solution.
