The vision, mission and values for Army Medicine at WINN Army Community Hospital is all about strengthening our nation’s health of our Army Soldiers. Army medicine provides quality, safe and consistent patient experiences, healthy lifestyles and behavior, a focus on readiness, injury and illness prevention and saves lives. The Army has taught Soldiers that loyalty, duty, respect, selfless service, honor, integrity and personal courage is needed in everything they do. Those same traits keep patient families trusting their healthcare providers with their care. They also clarify the importance that healthcare providers listen to their patients about their healthcare. (“McCulla and Smith 2007,” 1). The healthcare industry is made …show more content…
Healthcare facilities have a presence in their communities that assist patients and their families to get involved in activities and knowledge of changes in their health or how to make their care experiences better. That is the main goal for many healthcare facilities. Managers in the healthcare business are always seeking answers to key questions about how to better patient care. They are held accountable to make decisions and implementation that typically require research and funds. They have to consider all options to improve performance for healthcare facilities. Wrong information and research could lead to healthcare mistakes, but involving patients and their families keep awareness of changes, disseminating information no matter critical or nonsense. (“Commission on Growth and Development,” 2008) Organizational structure is not permanent. Higher healthcare cost may be the reason healthcare workers have a perception of the value of their benefits. Statics have improved when healthcare workers have become involved in the managing of their healthcare costs. Although it is the responsibility of the employer to make sure that all of its employees have benefits and a clear understanding of what can be offered to them. Many employers are still cutting where they can but also evaluating the ideas of outsourcing their benefits and enrollment. Defining patient populations assist healthcare facilities with what and the number of services needed to provide for the community. There are certain research test that are needed to find the right number. Answers are conceived through administrative, clinical and human resources research. Healthcare facilities have to understand the vision and mission of their responsibilities. That vision and mission prompts facilities to complete needs assessments to gather research information about their jobs and community needs. Healthcare workers can take part in research, but it is the patient and their families that have the priority of keeping facilities in business. Research is important and require personnel to be honest and dedicated to
As a management team it is suggested to always be aware of not only individual organization but also occurring changes in organizations across the nation. By staying informed, the organizations and managers can always promise that there is a constant awareness of potential improvement found in all forms of health care across the nation, ensuring that a problem faced or benefit gained at another facility will never be overlooked.
Improving the long-term health care facility requires effective needs assessment of the staff, stakeholders, and the community members. Ensuring appropriate and satisfactorily care of those who live and work in the facility requires a strategic process of needs assessment and documentation. The strategic process may require the confrontation of the taken-for-granted in the current facility, private consultation of certain stakeholders, revisiting the known scenes and meaningfully connecting the previously unconnected facility dreams, “vis-à-vis” the organizational vision and mission statements. In providing superior and meaningful care for clients, staff and community members it is imperative that we prudently involve them in the assessment processes. In this paper, I will delineate the processes used to identify the needs of the facility, staff and the community, in addition to other ancillary needs. Additionally, I will address how I will address the major needs of the staff, stakeholders and the community.

The Veterans Administration hospital is a unique aspect because it is the second - largest agency in the federal government because it is funded by congressional appropriations. It is also comprised of three administrations such as Veterans Health Administration (VHA), Veterans Benefits Administration (VBA) and National Cemetery Administration (NCA) . VHA or Veterans Health Administration helps run clinics across the country to research and improve the quality of life for the Veterans. After the VHA comes the VBA which provides educational resources, loans for home purchases, and financial assistance. Last but not least is the NCA and it gives national cemeteries and provides final arrangements for veterans when they are unfortunately die.The
Mrs. Harlen must first go to a Military Treatment Facility (MTF) near home to be seen by their physician to get a referral to see a psychologist. Then a referral will be written to be seen by a psychologist. For some reason, that they do not offer that service at that facility a health care finder (HCF) and the caring physician will work together to refer her to a psychologist that accept TRICARE Standard. No matterwhat make sure you get to every patient each time they need you more than you think. The last key point is the risk adjustments/control variables, these are things and way you cantake to make sure everyone is safe and that no one will suffer in the long run of things. Some of thesethings would be like use a gait belt when needed, make sure signs are up if need, make sure the patienthas call light in reach, etc. With this you need to take every step possible to make sure not only theresident is safe but you are also safe. For Further StudySomethings I would like to know more about is how exactly do they determine which residentand healthcare provider are best fight with the number of hours and the number of healthcareproviders. Another thing I would like to know is if the resident is unsatisfied with their healthcareprovider how would that be handled. Some positive things about this would be if you get to know andcreate a bond with your patient then you would get more trust and more understanding from them. They want to do more for themselves but also you. Also if you have a nice well taken care of facilityword will get out and then multiple people would come and want to be taken care of you and in thefacility.ConclusionMy personal reflections on my article would be that if you have a better healthcare facility withbetter positive attitude workers you
It is clear from the abstract of the article that managing change is a complex dynamic and challenging process which refers to a structured approach that facilitates the adoption of change by groups and individuals within an organization, in the second paragraphs. The way by which a healthcare system organizes itself to adapt to these external/circumstancial forces upon affects more than an organizations ability to give people access to quality care; but its ability to survive the continuously changing terrain of social, political, and economic conditions in which it operates. Mandates are necessary for improving quality care in order to ensure that all involved parties are in agreement and understand what is expected to be successful in providing care to patients. Organizational accountability is greatly improved by mandates. For example, using value based payment (VBP) systems to determine which hospitals are most successful at providing the highest quality and most cost effective care to patients helps ensure that all parts of the interdisciplinary team have the same goals in mind (CMS, 2015b). The manger is responsible for ensuring patient safety and implementing measures necessary for success in a VBP system when creating a culture of quality care (James & Sammer, 2012). The role of the manager is to support
Besides gaining intrinsic satisfaction from serving courageous service members and their families, I believe military medicine would offer me enormous opportunities to be a well-rounded physician. Military medicine will prepare me with the knowledge as well as the skill sets that allow me to provide care under extreme circumstances and limited resources. Beyond practicing medicine, military life allows me to develop interpersonal skills while providing service in widely diverse communities without geographical constrains. My prior military experiences push me beyond my personal limits and shape me into a mature and dependable person, which play a huge part of who I am today. Over the years, I always value the special bonding I have built with
