Respect, integrity, responsibility, and honesty are the things I've learned to need to be successful at both of my military schools. While Fork Union and Carson Long have a lot in common, they are very diverse in a multitude of ways. From being alike in having parades, the campuses and education are very different.
For 8th grade my parents sent me to Carson Long Military Academy to learn to be more respectful and to help me out socially. The Campus was in Bloomfield, Pennsylvania and was very small. We started with around 120 students and ended the year with 100. Education was not a main priority and they mostly cared about JROTC and drill.
Now, for my 9th grade year, I'm going to Fork Union Military Academy (FUMA). Unlike Carson Long, it
“ I be famous one day, but for now i'm stuck in middle school with a bunch of morons.” -Greg Heffley. Greg Heffley and Big Nate have the same personalities. Because they are trying to accomplish something in school that would help them a lot throughout his entire school year. Even though Big Nate and Diary of a wimpy Kid is a very popular book it has its similarities and some differences. For one Greg wants to be a popular and Big Nate wants to have good grades so he wouldn't have to get held back.
Kit Carson is best known for his role in the expansion of the West as a trapper, explorer, scout and American soldier. Carson not only spent time carving the path to the west, he defended it in battle as an officer in the U.S. Army. One of the most famous mountain men of the Westward movement, Carson has had several landmarks, cities, and areas named after him. Among these are Carson, Colorado, Carson City, Nevada, Carson Pass and the Carson River. (Sanford & Green) Kit Carson has been a part of American folklore for decades but his fame grew from very humble beginnings.
Thankfully, I stumbled across Acton Academy, which has treated me well for the past four years. It’s been a far more positive experience for me because I feel like I can work on what matters to me so long as I continue to work on the essentials. Because of this, I’ve learned to be a leader, a quality I feel like I’ve always had but never knew how to unleash. Something else that has been extremely helpful is how Acton has led me to become more independent since I have to figure things out on my own and I no longer have a teacher who will
I can personally say that Whale Branch High School has been my favorite school, but I have been to two schools; in Elementary I went to Agape Christian Academy then I went to Whale Branch Middle and High. My favorite teacher ever was Mrs. Dunn. I have received a tone of rewards
When it comes to who was a more effective politician than the other, leadership abilities and their historical significance were the most common answers. Across Canada, many politicians ran several parties such as the Conservative Party and the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation. Two great examples of politicians who ran parties are R.B Bennett and Tommy Douglas. R.B Bennett leading the Conservative party from 1927-1938 and Tommy Douglas running the Co-operative Commonwealth Federation from 1933-1961. Both were fortunate with Bennett being Prime Minister from 1930-1935 and Douglas being the premier of Saskatchewan from 1944-1961. Out of these two leaders, Tommy Douglas was a more effective politician than
A few months after Shayla was born my family decided to move to Canal Winchester. This was a big deal because moving means a new school. The next school year Desiree, James, and I were going to Tussing Elementary. We went there for a year and while I was there I was able to make dean’s list. The following year we were moved to Pickerington Elementary due to Tussing being overcrowded. After 4th grade I went to Diley Middle School, and while I was there I was able to have a spectacular time at Outdoor Edu. Before the school year was up my family moved to Reynoldsburg. When the school year was about to start I learned that I was going to be going to Lakeview Junior high instead of Ridgeview. The transition was much harder for me this time than
The school I went to visit was Public School 69. It was my little brothers elementary school. The reason I chose the school, was because I remember seeing him happy every time he came home from kindergarten. Every day he would come home and have a different project he did in class to show off. The outside of the school looked like a regular public school, but inside Miss Suzy’s* (not her real name) classroom was bright, warm, and inviting. My visitation was in the morning, right when the children began school at 8:00am. When I walked inside, the class room was baby blue with all kinds of art projects on the walls. Miss Suzy welcomed me very kindly, and discussed with me, her srtudents and what they have been learning. You can not help but
Once my father heard about what teachers said about me he immediately took me out of the school and brought me back to Maryland where I attended Arbutus Middle School. I tried my hardest to keep good grade, but i was never fully on track till I graduated off to high school. I attended Catonsville High, and I immediately loved it. The staff was so helpful. Once i started school there my grade increased tremendously. Catonsville High didn’t just help me in school, but it helped me to be socially and mentally strong too.
It was a complete transition from inner city schools to the rural countryside, this school was a turning point on respective of my previous school's education, the school curriculum was alien to me as was agriculture, school sports, cross-country running, the teacher that taught Agriculture, also taught Physical Training. It's hard to explain, coming from the inner city, and all of a sudden you’re plowing your first furrow with a cultivator, this was a totally new concept for me, the school had a snack bar that opened twice a day, and all in all, school was not too bad after all.
It was a very positive experience. The institution was a private school, which held us to a higher standard.
In the novel Walk on Earth a Stranger by Rae Carson there are many cases of friendship and trust. During most of the novel the characters are on a wagon train headed for California. Along the way, there are many hardships that they must face, and their dilemmas are easier to overcome if they trust each other and look to one another for help. Even in the beginning of the novel the main character Lee looks to her best friend Jefferson for help when her parents are murdered. If the characters in the novel had not become friends or trusted each other their whole journey would have been even more difficult than it already was.
The school I attended in Fort Collins impacted me in many ways. Every student was encouraged to think beyond what we took in class and to open a discussion on any topic that was relevant to what we were taking. It has shaped me by teaching me to always think outside the box and impact the society in which I live by maintaining a positive attitude and perseverance through adversity. The students and teachers there inspired me to become a versatile scholar, virtuous individual, and good-natured
Fortunately, I was accepted to the Naval Academy and I set out with my twin brother to Annapolis. We are the first in our family to join the military and hope to make military service a family tradition. While attending the Naval Academy, I majored in quantitative economics and served in a variety of leadership positions. As a midshipman I learned invaluable lessons about both how to be an effective Naval Officer of compassion and character as well as how far I can push myself personally and professionally.
I started my educational career in John F. Kennedy Elementary. I don’t really remember my years there because I only went there for Kindergarten and 1st grade. After that, I went to Sepulveda Elementary. That was a learning experience because I had to basically be on my own for a couple of days since I was the new
Elementary school started out as a bore but moved on to eventually being fun and enjoyable. I grew to love school and learning during my fourth and fifth grade years at Zia elementary school. My teacher taught me the value of history and American History
