The main topics or laws that I have learned are Business Structure, Government Regulation, and Legal Environment Business. I work for a Casino, so I know we used these three topics. Business Structure is a organization framework legally recognized in a particular jurisdiction for conducting commercial activities, such as sole-proprietorship, partnership, and corporation. Most types of government regulation involve the setting up and enforcement of standards for conducting legitimate activities. My concern here is with government regulation of business or economic affairs by municipal, county, state, and Federal politicians and bureaucrats.
During the past few years, the case for such regulation has been spelled out in fairly clear and general terms. I wish to examine the arguments which are based on moral considerations, since it is such arguments that matter in the defense of the authority of the state to treat its citizens in various ways.

Management involves the administration of the properties and realms which the government owns. For example, the national parks and forests are managed by government, not regulated. So is the interstate highway system. In contrast, toy manufacturing, which is an activity of private business, is regulated by government, as are the manufacture and sale of many foods and drugs, the production of cars, and the practice of law, medicine, and other occupations.
The legal environment of business refers to the code of conduct that defines the legal boundaries for business activity. To understand these boundaries, it is essential to first have a basic understanding of the law and how it affects businesses and business practices. The nature of business spans over a number of legal realms, all of which are continuously influenced by the needs and demands of the business community, consumers, and the government. Each has a distinct stake and voice in this vibrant legal
The Las Vegas and Atlantic City locations have lost revenues in recent years. In addition to the economic slowdown, these gambling locations are also facing new competitors in the market that are providing attractive choices to the customers. Though there are some external forces beyond their control, it seems that attractiveness and accessibility are very important focus areas for these cities.
We as business owners, management and or in a role of authority must set, address and comply with a solid foundation of ethics. “A code of conduct is the single most important element of your ethics and compliance program. It sets the tone and direction for the entire function. Often, the code is a standalone document, ideally only a few pages in length. It introduces the concept of ethics and compliance and provides an overview of what you mean when you talk about ethical business conduct.”
Lau, T., & Johnson, L. (2013). The legal and ethical environment of business. (1st ed., p. 11.2-11.5).
Anscombe presents her argument by first defining what marks the authority of the state. Once the authority of the state can be identified it can later be determined whether or not it is justified. This justification comes from the performance of a necessary task for the general human need. These necessary tasks cannot be performed unless there is extensive obedience. The state has a right to be obeyed when its authority is based on its performance of the necessary task. This exercise of authority from the state is justified.
The word law is defined as a system of principles and regulations of ethics and rules in order to keep people and also things in line, a set of rules of conduct. There are many functions of law in business and in society. Without the functions of laws many companies, etc. could and would not survive. Law is very valuable within businesses. Businesses have to have law because it is used as a protective shield for the companies. Without laws, companies could have lawsuits placed on them. So laws are put into place to help avoid as many lawsuits as possible. A majority of

The ability for the federal government to regulate businesses’ activity is given in the Constitution. Article 1, Section 8 is known as the commerce clause; it states, “Congress shall have the Power…to regulate Commerce with foreign Nations, and among the several States, and with the Indian Tribes” (Reed, 173). Through the commerce clause, the government is able to regulate business activity by the use of administrative agencies, which is defined as “a governmental regulatory body that controls and supervises a particular activity or area of public interest and administers and enforces a particular body of law related to that activity or interest” (Administrative Agency, 1). There are two types of regulatory authority that agencies may
There is a limit to the valid exercise of police power by the state. The mere assertion that a subject related to the public health does not make an act valid, it must have a more direct relation before an act, that interferes with the general right of an individual to be free in his person and in his power to contract his own labor, is to be upheld as
When I think of a service that is legal but unethical, I immediately think of casinos. Social responsibility is defined as an organization’s obligation to maximize its positive impact on stockholders and minimize its negative impact (Ferrell, Fraedrich, & Ferrell, 2013). For the stockholders invested in a casino company they are in direct conflict with this. The questionable services that are rendered to consumers who engage in entertaining themselves with these services has more cautionary tales than stories of happy endings.
Government has a legitimate concern to exercise its authority to protect society and the general public from behavior of individuals and government also has a limited right to exercise paternalistic authority to limit and regulate the types of risks to which individuals can expose themselves. For that reason, laws that criminalize drunk driving, for just one example, are completely justified. Otherwise, irresponsible personal behavior could put innocent people at great risk.
When walking into “The Strip” in Las Vegas, an instant feel of excitement rushes up. The flashy neon lights paired with glimpses of amazing acrobatics on gigantic screens easily brings up the energy of tourists, businessmen, and gambling addicts. You may wonder how a once stranded desert can transform into such a paradise of skyscrapers. The answer lies in casinos.
There are quite a bit of differences and similarities across all games that I played. First, the designs are very similar and serve their purposes well. Each design is created with an end goal in mind. The differences however aren’t as subtle. When comparing a casino game to a retro game for instance, the differences are vast. Interactivity is one of the key differences between quite a few of these games. Casino games, of course depending on the type, have very little interactivity. The one I played, which was Slots, was one such example. Make a bet and keep clicking the same button over and over again hoping for a good turn-out. The retro game on the other hand made me feel like I actually had a choice in what I wanted to do or where I wanted to go within the game. The worlds are much more expansion when you take this into consideration. The mobile game and online game worked pretty similar as well as far as general features. Both support a pay to win option in order to advance your character or team further. The differences between the two were pretty expansive. One is played in one world, which is the exact same as all of the others but with different art depending on the stadium being played in, the other is in a seemingly open world and focuses more on resource management and tactical battle than scoring points. Most of the games that I played provide some sort of educational experience though. The simulation teaches people about how life is in poverty, the educational
Political environment – The processes of national, regional and local governments, as well as various power groups that can affect the rules for doing business. This can include government intervention in particular industries, tax policies at all levels, government expenditures for certain causes, legislation aimed at implementing social policy, and regulation of various industries and trade practices.
Legal environment refers to the rules and regulations that already set and to be abide in the business environment including internal and external areas. There are several laws that involve the business environment in a country for example Mc Donald Brunei must provide halal meat under Islamic law.
