Cell phones have been around for hundreds of years. It’s no surprise that more and more people are beginning to partake in cellphone use. Cell phones provide society with an easier way of communicating and obtaining information, but at the same time there are some negative consequences. What most people don’t realize is that cellphones are actually quite harmful to modern society. Scientifically cellphones emit radiations that can potentially produce fatal results. Overall cellphones have many benefits, but indefinitely they are detrimental to one’s wellbeing. Scientific Perspective There are numerous unwanted health problems that cell phones can generate. The possibility of the formation of a cancerous tumor is one of them. When talking on the phone, cell phones are placed next to the salivary gland. In order to determine whether or not cell phones serve as a factor for causing cancer, the saliva’s of heavy cell phone users and non-cell phone users were compared. It was found that the saliva of the heavy cell phones users contained large amounts of “oxidative stress”. The danger behind this discovery is that oxidative stress produces certain radicals that damage parts of cells, and is an important risk factor for cancer (Hubbard 1). It has also been found that cell phone exposure may harm male fertility. It was found in men who had no exposure to cell phones that 50 -85% of their sperm had a normal ability to move towards
Ever since cellular phones first came to be in the 1980’s, people have been using them to carry out conversations, ask questions, or meet new people. Once cell phones reached a height of internet capabilities, smartphones were created. Cell phones from then on ended up changing society entirely. This research study could explain the effects of cell phones from their creation to today’s society and how they would influence the future generations. This study would also focus on the evolution of how cell phones become even more involved in our lives and how they truly influence us. This study would be beneficial to our generation by teaching them how technology is expanding, and the lives of humans will get easier as time goes on. Furthermore, this study would be beneficial as a report on how cell phones came to be in our history. This would expectedly heighten the awareness of society to how different our lives could be according to technological development. To the future researchers, this study could be used as a base for data in future development into how society adapts.
Consequently, one of the things cellphone addiction negatively impacts is physical health. For example, from my own experience cellphone addiction can lead to hand cramping, eye strain and, neck pain. However, throughout my researched I found more physical side effects to addictive cellphone behavior which are more serious. The National Center for Health Research website has an article titled “Can Cellphones Harm Our Health?” which informs about the toll cellphone addiction takes on your bodies health. In summary, this article states the findings of studies scientists have done. The studies investigate how cellphone radiation affects people who
"Heavy Cell Phone Use Can Quadruple Your Risk of Brain Cancer." Mercola.com. N.p., n.d. Web. 31 Mar. 2016.
People know brain cancer can be a very scary disease. Use your cell phone with care. Studies have shown that people who use their cell phones on a regular basis have higher chances of getting a brain tumor, which can later develop into cancer, is 240% higher then someone who stays off the phone. Cell phones give off radioactive waves which attack brain cells. The primary cause is still unknown, people still try and fins ways to prevent it. Avoiding
cancer. A study has been shown that cell phones affect men’s sperm quality. It could affect
Thesis: The usage of cell phones in modern day society has caused quite the problem for citizens in this generation by being a major distraction, causing addictions, and has sadly became the main resource of communication.
According to scientists, cell phones were marked as “possibly carcinogenic.”(Trottier 1 ) In other words, there may possibly be a link between the use of cell phones and cancer. However, too little time has passed to detect if cell phones can cause cancer, researchers found no evidence of a link between the two and there is no evidence from studies that radiofrequency can cause cancer. Continuous evidence is showing this question as a false claim.
The big question is whether or not cell phones cause cancer. So I looked at a few different studies almost all of them showed the same thing. One source was the IARC they said that the cell phones give off electromagnetic fields. The IARC also has cell phones ranked in 2B category. Also they said that cellphones can cause tumors in the brain. My research shows that cell phones can increase the chance of cancer.
However there had done others study that express the connection between cell phones and different types of biological damage to human body. For example The European Journal of Scientific Research conducted a lab experiment with normal human astrocytes, an LG Verizon cell phone and MRET-Nylon chip. The experiment revealed that normal human astrocytes cell that were exposed to cell phone radiation at a room temperature without the MRET-Nylon chip decreased by 20% less . Igor Smirnov is one of the author of this experiment and he stated on his article that "It is well documented that cell phones, which emit electromagnetic fields in the radio frequency range, can cause DNA damage, headaches, blurred vision, dizziness, fatigue, short term memory loss, neuralgias, tumors, sleep disturbances, aberrant brain wave activity and changes to cerebral blood flow, including altering the permeability of the blood brain barrier" (Smirnov, 2009). Smirnov statement and finding about the emission of electromagnetic wave from cell phones gives a lot to think. Even-tough it's a small amount of radiation that is being emitted from cell-phones, because they are held very close to the head at the end of a long term usage the risk of brain cancer and others health problems will

Did you know that the cancer government, the federal communications commission’s says that hundreds of millions of Americans uses cell phones, and cell phones can cause you to have brain tumors? Did you also know that both adults and children spend most of their time on phone? When using your phone, it might give you a neck problem because in respect to cancer, concern focuses on whether cell phones might increase the risk of brain tumors in the head and neck area. But let me tell you something, as many of us use our phones daily, do we ever stop and think it might affect our body? No because we are so into social media and playing games that we don’t have time to think that it’s going to affect us. People say that phones are safe and other say they aren’t. I say that they can be safe at some time it can also depend what you do, and how long you use it for. Therefore, many of us get distracted easily and it’s pretty hard to get back on track. In 1973, the first portable cell phone was discovered, due to the cause that cell phones may not be safe at some time cell phones are also very important because in case of an emergency you will have a device with you.
I am going to talk about the arguments about how cell phone radiation can affect our lives and whether these arguments are accurate or not. Cell phone radiation is a type of electromagnetic radiation that has the ability to cause health issues. The radiation from this device can cause serious brain tumours, according to one study by Anna Lahkola of the Radiation and Nuclear Safety Authority in Finland, which found that people who use their cell phone for more than 2000 hours have a higher chance of getting a brain tumour. The
There has been research that shows that long term wireless use may be associated with health risk. Sitting in front of a computer for too many hours can be a health hazard with can lead to weight gain which causes cardiovascular disease and diabetics. A person shouldn’t talk on their phone continuously for more than one hour a day. Cell phones health risks are greater if someone used a cell phone have continuous excessive use more than 10 years. Risk involves minor ear warming, ringing in the ears or effects as severe as brain tumors.
The cell phones have very bad effect on the environment. The cell phones which are thrown away after not capable to work properly can badly affect our environment. The cell phones contain bio accumulative metals which become toxic over a period of time. The hazardous substances like cadmium, lead, nickel and mercury are present in cell phones which are capable of causing cancer and other fatal diseases if cell phones are not disposed properly.
Furthermore, Mobile phones are harmful to user’s health so they can affect their learning ways. Researchers have been found that mobile phones produce waves that are harmful to heart, internal and reproductive organs. Also, radiation from mobile phones can damage brain cell. (http://hubpages.com/hub/Effects-of-cell-phone--mobile-phone-use-on-our-brain-and-memory). For example, mobile phones can be implicated in brain tumours as a result of electromagnetic fields or radiation.
