Abstract: Cellular respiration and effects of pollutants and carbohydrates on its rate is determined . its purpose is to determine the importance of cellular respiration on the process of life. Respiration is process that take place in cell to convert the biochemical energy to ATP. In this activity two sets of experiments are performed to determine the rate of cellular respiration by measuring the amount of CO2 in fermentation tube. Larger the rate of cellular respiration, larger will be the amount of gas produced. To conduct the experiment yeast and water were added together at first. Yeast mixture was poured into the test tube and another test tube on the top. After flipping the tube upside down the amount of gas produced was observed at the top of Tube for about 10 minutes to determine the Cellular Respiration Rate. After performing with carbohydrates, we performed same steps by adding different pollutants. The amount of CO2 produced in this case is less. Activity – 6: Cellular respiration Introduction: The Purpose of this experiment was to determine the importance of cellular respiration in the processes of Life. The objective of this experiment was to determine the rate of cellular respiration and how the presence of carbohydrates and pollutants will affect it. Our hypothesis was that an organism has larger rate of Cellular Respiration with the source of Carbohydrates as compared to the one that is without the Carbohydrates source and vice versa in
