Cloud Computing and its Security Issues Abstract—With the increasing trend of technological advancements, the deployment of business applications and processes has greater reliance on the paradigm of cloud computing. The tenants are facilitated on a “pay-as-you-go” approach with respect to the infrastructure, software and platform services. The acceptance of cloud computing model among the consumers is based on its cost-effectiveness in terms of maintenance of the resources along with the flexibility and efficient performance. Nonetheless, certain concerns associated with the data security and credibility of the services are still there that are required to be eradicated for its sustained acceptance within the ICT industry. …show more content…
However, with all the benefits, the rapid development of information and communication technology (ICT) involves certain security challenges as well. The associated challenges and issues of Cloud computing must be considered prior to the ubiquitous adoption of the technology [2]. The paper presents the analysis of the cloud computing model in terms of the deployment of its service models, along with the security issues associated with it. The paper also presents the possible techniques of eliminating the security concerns of the cloud computing. II. DESCRIPTION Cloud computing is basically a model based on “pay as you go” that reflects the best business approach for the organization to pay only for the services that are used. Organizations have adopted this approach rapidly due to the attributes of minimal investment, rapid deployment along with cost reduction. Thus, the organizations are free from monitoring and managing the technical issues as it is offered by the service providers. According to Modi, et al. [2], around 91% international organizations have adopted the model of cloud computing for its significant element of cost reduction. A. Architecture of Cloud Computing Figure 1 represents the infrastructure of the cloud computing that reflects that the cloud service providers involved in delivering the required services to the

According to Prasad, Gyani and Murti (2012), “Cloud computing can be defined as a new style of computing in which dynamically scalable and often virtualized resources are provided as a service over the Internet” (p.7). This statement is from five years ago, and although cloud computing is no longer considered new, this definition still describes what cloud computing means today. Cloud computing being private or public is becoming more primordial in the IT sector due to the numerous advantages it gives to its end users (Basmadjian et al. 2012). Since the interest in cloud computing keeps on increasing, efforts need to continue to evaluate current trends in security and privacy. Cloud computing
Most organizations have constrained and inefficient resources to lay down good IT systems and infrastructure. They do not respond promptly to customer needs that keep changing radically and make data sharing difficult. This problem can be solved through adoption of cloud computing; The cloud service providers should ensure that they consider the security issues (software,
Cloud computing has grown in popularity to the point that it is now becoming the preferred method of the business community for accessing services on the Internet. This paper examines the reasons for this growth and explores the benefits and drawbacks of this technology.
It would be fair to say that cloud computing has changed the way the business used to do. With the evolution of cloud computing, IT companies can get software to hardware and infrastructure to staff requirement on demand. Cloud service providers also fully mange the services which can be provided at any time. Cloud computing utilizes a combination of the internet (cloud) and computer technology (computing). It is broadly defined as methods to deliver information or services to customers who pay for what they use. It uses the architecture in which one provider is giving services to multiple organizations. This paper, I will be discussing about risk and challenges of cloud computing. My main focus on the paper will be over cloud, its standardization, challenges/concerns and current business transformation.
Cloud computing is revolutionizing many ecosystems by providing organizations with computing resources featuring easy deployment, connectivity, configuration, automation and scalability. This paradigm shift raises a broad range of security and privacy issues that must be taken into consideration. Loss of control, and trust are key challenges in cloud computing environments. This paper will be describing and focusing on cloud security and privacy. In addition to cloud security, the general model of cloud computing is also described where the cloud security and privacy issues can be approached. To preserve such issues, some propositions for cloud security for reference are also proposed along with a brief description for deployment in cloud computing.
Security is additionally one of the significant worries of the cloud computing innovation and is evident through the prior investigations. There exist a few dangers included which will limit the organizations in partaking and actualizing these cool administrations. There exist significant odds of dangers like losing of information, information ruptures, in security to the secret information which can affect the organizations. In this manner, the vast majority of the organizations introduce in the market fears to render their private information helpless against the uncertainties of unapproved access and they were in that by embracing the cloud benefits, their information might be more presented to dangers and likely of getting assaulted or
Cloud computing combines a number of computing concepts and technologies in objective to provide secure, quick, convenient data storage and net computing service with all computing resources visualized as services and delivered over the internet. Cloud computing has brought financial benefits and promises to many business and organizations a way to enhance their information technology such as collaboration, agility, scalability and availability without heavy upfront capital costs in servers meanwhile achieving minimal management effort for service providers.
Threats endanger some essential security prerequisites in a cloud. These threats have large privacy breach, data leakage and unapproved information access at various cloud layers. Cloud computing is an adaptable, practical, and demonstrated conveyance stage for giving business or buyer IT administrations over the Web. Cloud computing influences numerous innovations it additionally acquires their security issues, which we talk about here, recognizing the primary vulnerabilities in this sort of frameworks and the most imperative threats found in the writing identified with Cloud computing and its surroundings and also to distinguish and relate vulnerabilities and threats with conceivable arrangements.
Cloud Computing is considered the latest buzzword in computing today. It describes a form of computing wherein services are accessed through the Internet on an as needed or pay-per-use basis. Some aspect of cloud computing is in use on a regular basis. Understanding this technology, its benefits, and underlying security risks are important for people in most of today’s technical areas. Because Cloud computing is still considered to be in its infancy, an introduction to cloud computing, defining its major components, with a focus on Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), is the foremost theme of this paper. There are three major elements of cloud computing - Software-as-a-Service (SaaS), Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS), and
Cloud computing helps in bringing together complex IT documents in a small number of places, which can be managed easily. Although cloud computing has its advantages such as simplicity and cost, there are certain security concerns which have been brought about by users, as it involves storing important, and critical data in a shared and public environment. The issues on security concerns can be explained as follows:
Security is the most prioritized aspect for any form of computing, making it an obvious expectation that security issues are crucial for cloud environment as well. As the cloud computing approach could be associated with having users’ sensitive data stored both at clients’ end as well as in cloud servers, identity management and authentication are very crucial in cloud computing. Verification of eligible users’ credentials and protecting such credentials are part of main security issues in the cloud - violation in these areas could lead to undetected security breach at least to some extent for some period. A possible authentication scenario for a cloud infrastructure is illustrated in figure 4.
There would various security issues to cloud computing Concerning illustration it includes Numerous innovations including networks, databases, operating systems, virtualization, asset scheduling, transaction management, load balancing, concurrency control and memory administration.
