Patton-Fuller Community Hospital Joshua Harris NTC/362 August 9th, 2012 Richard Douglass Patton-Fuller Community Hospital ”Patton- Fuller Community Hospital has prided itself on providing top-of-the-notch not-for-profit health care organization since their opening in 1975” (University of Phoenix, 2012). The hospital’s specialty is in providing high-quality health care to all patients, and establishing peaceful work relationships within the staff. Services provided by the hospital are “surgery, emergency medical care, physical therapy, labor and delivery, radiology, and more” (University of Phoenix, 2012). “In Kelsey, Patton-Fuller Community Hospital is the first hospital, dedicated at the hospital is to …show more content…
1-2). Now, the importance of protocols when communicating between computers is beyond critical because without the implementation of communication protocols between computers, there is no communication or interaction between computers at all! No communication between company computers and to internet databases would set a company back to the point of extinction. Protocols for my Design The protocols in my design that will allow the communication of all devices for Patton-Fuller to transmit quickly and without restriction performs on the Open Systems Interconnection (OSI) standard, which will divide all of Patton-Fuller’s network traffic into layers. This layer system will consist of the following: • “Application - The Application Layer is the layer that most network users are exposed to, and is the level at which human communication happens. HTTP, FTP, and SMTP are examples of the application layer protocols the Patton-Fuller will now be utilizing for communicating electronically” (Network Design, 2012). • “IP (the Internet Protocol) is the most common Network Layer protocol where routing occurs” (Network Design, 2012). I will put in place two wireless network interfaces, which will interconnect with the newly installed fiber optic routing system. Internet nodes will communicate via the IP address, 172.15.100.10. • “Data Link -Whenever two or more nodes share the same physical medium (for example, several computers plugged
Patton – Fuller community hospital’s network system consist of two major parts, the first part is the executive part that connects the hospitals executive management, human resources department, operations, IT and data center, etc., the first network is connected using a 1000base-T Gigabyte network connection that uses a typical Cat6 cabling (Apollo Group Inc., 2008), the second major part of the network connects the departments of radiology, operating room, wards, ICU’s, etc. using a 1000base F fiber optic based connection, this connection is a
But how does it work? The internet, based on the concept of “packet switching”, involves the travelling of small packets of data over one or more networks (Frenzel, 2013). This can be compared to “electronic postcards”, meaning that “a computer generates a piece of data and flings it into the net, just like the postal system, except 100 million times faster” (Cerf, 2013). This concept allows one computer to speak to many different computers around the network by sending out these “electronic postcards”. However, before these networks can work seamlessly together, they must use a common protocol, or set of rules for transmitting and receiving these packets of data. There are several protocols currently in use, including the OSI Model, the TCP/IP Model, UDP, HTTP, and FDP (Mitchell, 2014), but the most commonly used is Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) (Gilmer, 2011). Even as early as 1977, TCP/IP was being used by other networks to link to ARPANET (Kozierok,
A: OSI stands for Open System Interconnection. The main aim of the OSI layer is to implement protocols of a networking framework.
In chapter three we learned about the many protocols there are in everyday networks. First a protocol is like a set of rules you have to follow that has been established by certain companies. Some of these companies are IEEE, ICAN, IETF and more. These protocols are very important and is why the internet works as smoothly as it does. Without these rules computers with different operating systems or with different types of networks would not be able to communicate with each other. These protocols are very important and play a part in everything from networks to how your computer talks to itself and
Patton-Fuller Community Hospital is a prominent hospital that is known for specializing in pharmacy, radiology, surgery, and physical therapy. This community hospital has numerous departments and each has a different IT need, so understanding which programs will work and be compatible is their major objective. The patients of Patton-Fuller Hospital are accustomed to the quality service
When dealing with emails, you have a IMAP, a POP3 or a SMTP, protocols. First, we have a IMAP, which is similar to a POP3 because they are both used to read mails from a remote server. The IMAP is considered more advanced than a POP3. Then you have a SMTP, which is only used for sending emails. For example, if you plan to set up an email server such as hMailServer, you must know what each protocol is used for. Each protocol is considered to be a specific set of communication rules between computers. Now, we will take a closer look at each protocol specifically.
4. Which of the following protocols is a connection-oriented protocol that operates at the transport layer of the OSI model and supports reliable connections?
Help has finally arrived for Greenville County residents. The Greenville County Hospital system will be opening a new free clinic in a neighborhood near you. The clinic will specialize in working with those who don’t have health insurance and Medicaid eligible patients. The Greenville County Free Clinic will offer a variety of health care services, including medical, dental, vision, mental health, and pharmacy services. The clinic does not receive money from the federal government therefor, it is funded through community donations, grants, and special events. The clinic will be opened 5 days a weeks for 6 hours a day. So make your appointment as soon as possible.
The networks combine IP with a higher-level protocol called Transmission Control Protocol. This protocol establishes an implicit connection between a destination and the origin. Internet Protocol can be correlated to a postal system network. It grants an entity to address a parcel, packet or mail and drop it in the postal system. There is no direct link between the consignor and the recipient.
In 1991 Dr. Riordan created Riordan Manufacturing which is a Company that produces all kind of plastics. Riordan currently has a location in Hangzhou China and is moving that location to Shanghai China. In this analysis I will cover communication protocols and their importance, rationale for design protocols, overall network architecture, how a traffic analysis is used, jitter, response time, and latency, along with their effect on a network. Also discussed is data rates and their effect on each part of the network with strategies to ensure availability with router and switch networks.
With this paper, I would like to provide a brief overview of IP-interconnection; the issues in IP- interconnection and suggest my views on the possible measures that FCC could adopt.
of the fundamental protocols that are needed in order to communicate over the Internet. In
In this report, I will discuss 3 sections: Protocol Stack, Subnetting and Results. Within the protocol stack section, I will explain how the encapsulation process works within each layer of both TCP/IP & IOS/OSI models. The explanations will relate to the stages which occur within the process of requesting a web page from the web server via PC0 over the Wide Area Network (WAN). Within the subnetting section, I will produce a guide on subnetting an IP address. Within, the results section, screenshots of composing and receiving email will be shown, also screenshots displaying the webpage of web server and outputs of 2 show commands on routing and switching devices.
For many of us it’s hard to imagine a world without the computer, but this technology is still relatively new. The Atanasoff-Berry Computer, developed by John Atanasoff and Cliff Berry, which is considered to be the first electronic digital computer, wasn’t developed until 1937. (Mackintosh, 1987) This development led to the creation of the modern computer, however, it wasn’t until 1973 that Vint Cerf and Bob Kahn laid the groundwork for what we now call the internet. (IHF, 2016) They created network protocols, enabling computers everywhere to connect and share information with each other. These protocols consist of a set of rules and standards to eliminate communication failures.
As computer became more commonly used in universities and research labs in the late 1960s, the need of having high-speed interconnections between computer systems within a small region generated a new interest of Internet development. The initial motivation for building such networks was generally to share storage and printers, which were both expensive at the time. Early Local Area Networks development started in the late 1970’s by enthusiasts and commercial companies. From that time until the present a variation of LAN’s design has been offered in the marketplace. However, in the late 1980’s people began to recognize Ethernet as the flavor of choice. The following report will concern only Ethernet.
