Ever since standardized testing started being used as a way to evaluate the intelligence of students and the teachers’ ability to educate, the standard of actual education has been diminished immensely. Standardized testing is used in most public and private schools to analyze students’ knowledge. It has affected the way in which students learn and has corrupted the methods teachers use to educate. In some cases, English-Learning and disabled students face discrimination from teachers since teachers have more responsibility to have a high number of passing students. Some countries around the world don’t use standardized tests to rank their students or schools and yet they have been successful. Standardized tests are not efficient on making students learn, they should not be used to evaluate students’ knowledge.

Throughout the many years of the educational process, students are often met with different challenges that will test abilities and skills related to cognitive status and learning. This section of this essay critically evaluates the use of two different assessment activities used to check the learning of students. This will be done by considering the key strengths and weakness of each type of assessment will also be considered, as well as, the Validity; Reliability; Sufficiency; Authenticity and Relevance of each assessment method.

In ICT I have used activities to try to identify learning styles and the results have often been similar in that students studying ICT tend to have Kinaesthetic and Visual learning styles, I have also noticed that if a learner does not have this mix they can sometimes have problems understanding elements of ICT. In understanding the learning styles of my students I can prepare my teaching effectively.

In the United State there is a test called Standardized test, which comes in every level of education. Standardized test is any form of test in which all test takers are required to answer the same questions. This test is given in believe of that it will determine individual’s skill. This got introduced in the mid 1800 and ever since that, this has been one of the requirement educational background qualification. Standardized test has been an argumentative topic for a lot of people, some people think it is a good method of determining someone’s knowledge on courses. However there are people who think that standardized testing should not be the only way to measure student skills. This is not something we can conclude by just saying , we should take standardized test or we should not take standardized test, because not everyone think the same way. This topic is open to an individual perspective. This research will state both sides of standardised test, meaning will give both side information leaving the the decision to the reader whether students should take standardized test in the United states.

me people considers that Standardized Testing can’t sufficiently assess students’ potential. They describe that the tests restrict creativity, fail to give every student a fair chance, and are not able to comprehensively analyze a student’s future. Nevertheless, as a student of my generation, I can look around the circumstances and my fellow contemporaries, and find that Standardized Testing is the best way for now to assess a student’s potential. This course gave me the opportunity to rediscover and learn and understand my learning style and strategies. It provided me with a better understanding of the different learning styles and theories. What I found surprising was the fact that as an instructional designer you can increase the motivation level in the learner. Instruction designers can achieve learning environments and stimulate and sustain motivation, even though they cannot control it. The information of learning constructivist theories brings an understanding of the circumstance in which learning occurs and the social contexts that learners bring to the learning environment. The learning theories give a good foundation on the academic level and developments in the motivational research area, and the ARCS Model makes it possible to apply it to the online learning environment. Albert Ellis and Arron Beck are both considered to be the founders of cognitive theory. In the 1950’s, Beck and Ellis focused on cognitive concepts where the increasing importance was applied to the role of cognitive processes in psychiatric (Early & Grady, 2017). Ellis infers that irrational beliefs are the foundation that dysfunctional behaviors stem from and Beck established research that classified depression as a product of an individual’s negative beliefs (Coady & Lehmann, 2016). Cognitive theorists may view problem behavior as either positive or negative reinforcement that is delivered from the environment where an emphasis is placed on what role thoughts play in maintaining the problem (Early & Grady, 2017).

Testing has felt tremendous influence from the emphasis on efficiency. University examinations have moved from individual testing by professors to nowadays where most exams are machine graded, text-book given multiple choice tests. Thus, with the infiltration of McDonaldization into the educational system, test taking has become extremely efficient for the professor.
