1) Goal Setting
a. Set your goal(s), which major/concentration to choose, time to graduation, GPA, ect.
My goals right now are to achieve the highest understanding that I can in my class and ultimately graduate with a Bachelor of Science. What I will learn now will impact how I solve problems when I am out in industry. The one that can do it the fastest and most efficient will get the job. For my major Engineering, I am leaning toward mechanical. I would like to get my masters in environmental to ultimately try to save our planet. The amount of time that I am planning on being in school is ultimately is as long

Being able to take in the information that is presented and being able to apply it is a crucial tool that is needed in order to be successful. One of the assignments that we were given in ENGR 1000 was that we were tasked to see what type of learner we were. Everyone has their own unique way of learning and I myself feel that I am more of a visual learner than verbal. There are eight different characteristics on a scale from one to ten which means there can be fifty thousand and four hundred different possibilities. This is why it is important to know and understand what type of learner you are because you are only one of that fifty thousand and four hundred. You could and are very likely spinning your wheels trying to learn things the wrong way if you truly don’t understand how you learn. I can read a book cover to cover and at the end, sometimes I could not tell you what I have just read. After taking that survey I was surprised at how much I was heavily leaning only on visual and not verbal. Just this one alone was putting me at a disadvantage in my education because I was only really taking in half of what I could be. I have started to rely different learning styles so that I can be more we
Editing documents: Office suite software like Microsoft Office is one of the most commonly-used pieces of business software. However, it is often expensive to buy and can only be used on the computer it’s installed on. This isn’t a problem anymore as there are tools available that provide you an office suite (including word processing and spreadsheet options) that you can log in to online, from anywhere.
My academic goals in the field of engineering studies are to become a top student at Texas A&M, and to prove to my parents that I can do anything in life as long as I put the work and effort into it. In addition of another academic goal in engineering is to soak up as much knowledge as I can from everyone at Texas A&M to help further my knowledge and education process in the study of engineering. In general my overall academic goals at Texas A&M are to really just become a top student and to really proof that a minority coming from a low income community can really do anything that they put their mind to, and not only that but I want to set an example for people in my community.
My educational goals are attending a four year university getting a bachelors degree in science with a minor in chemistry. Throughout my time in university I would also like to become a certified Phlebotomist and EKG technician. With obtaining my bachelors in science and minor in chemistry this will be a step towards my final education goal in applying to a master program to become a Physician Assistant. Being able to understand and know health scientific problems has been a lifelong goal of mines helping people to know more about what they can do to prevent or become better has always been my
Learning styles of individual students vary and as a consequence, learning needs also change from each student to the next (Liew, Sidhu, & Barua, 2015). The “styles” for learning that are widely adopted include the Visual, Auditory, Read/Write, Kinesthetic (VARK) model, developed by Fleming and Mills (1992) include Visual (V), Auditory (A), Read/Write (R) and Kinaesthetic (K) types of learning approaches. The Visual (V) learner learns best by the use of information by visual means (using of charts, mindmaps, and other visual aids). The Auditory (A) learner understands best by
Ashley, I am A visual learner who strengths are memorizing information from my INFT124 course and it allows me to quickly remember simple and complex facts that relate to my course assignments. In addition to this, these activities also help me know what topics to research for my discussions with my classmates and it helps me understand how to complete my weekly assignments in an correct way. Finally, my visual learning style helps me learn how to write organized informative notes on important educational and business issues in this
One of my successful experiences during my previous years in school was when I had “A” as a final grade in ENG 101.
When I was young, learning new things was a delight. I remember one teacher in particular who used a flannel board with pictures when she told us a story. To this day, more than 50 years later, I can still see those pictures and remember the story she told. That simple remembrance indicates to me that I am a visual learner. Perhaps that is why I am hopeless when given a direction to go north on a particular route. Spatial directions mean nothing to me. A better way to navigate is to look for landmarks such as a store, or service station, or even a billboard sign. I need to see something I recognize to help me navigate. The same is true when I am learning something new. I need to mark up a text to learn from it. Videos and demonstration, are more helpful to me, than a lecture. McGrath (2009) notes that there may be similarities between adults and children in how they learn, but adult learners need to know why they are learning new knowledge before they are willing to participate. When I can see a reason for learning something, I am more invested in the outcome of the process. For example, learning how a combustion engine
My educational goals are to get accepted into a great college, such as New Mexico State University and achieve the highest level of excellence that I am able to push myself to, just as I did within my high school years. As usual, when you ask someone about their goals it is a very simple answer such as something that can be achieved without hardships and something that is the least stressful. However, I myself strive to be better than that and know that great things are accomplished when you put forth your full effort. With that being said I strive to have excellent grades with a minimum of a 3.8 GPA and work with my best effort to excel at an accelerated level. Eventually earning my bachelor's degree and considering going back for my master's
“The road ahead waits for your journey, you just got to take the first step.” High Tech High School is my road to success. Not only will it fulfill my academic needs, but will help me stay on the right track as a dancer and an individual. As a girl who has gone to Catholic school her whole life, I question going to a public school. Why should I go down this road? Because High Tech is not your average high school. It gives people the opportunity to be surrounded by those who share your same passion. People who are going down the same road.
To all who enjoy being hot, impatient, and surrounded by Idiocracy, Chattahoochee Technical School is the one for you. Prepare to be waiting in lines, watching where your bottom lies, and being watched by “Big Brother” himself, wherever you go. This fabulous Technical school has a lot to offer such as noisy study rooms, expensive refreshments, limited parking spaces, unsanitized bathrooms and so forth. The school's’ facilities is exactly what it cracks out to be. Waiting forever for your instructor, and to be serviced in the book store is painful enough. Overall Chattahoochee Technical College facilities have plenty to give.
Credendi, in turn, represents technics. The redoubled body sources, alters, and reinscribes externalised memory sources. Every linear parsing of sourcing, changing, and reinscribing remains somewhat synthetic due to the simultaneous genesis of the who and what. The ideology of linear human progress, as a well-guarded modern social construct, hides this immiseration. But, for clarity, the following account of credendi adheres to the three terms of sourcing, changing, and reinscribing.
Graduating with a BS degree in engineering is most definitely a goal for me. Based on my reading a good way to ensure my success is to make goals for myself that can be completed in a shorter time span than one big goal. The act of complete goals gives me a sense of completion and reassures me that I’m on the right path. These goals can be planned out to make my life go in the direction I want it to. The reading showed me that there are 3 keys to success as an engineer,
With this, I prefer to see and read information to full gain comprehension. If I forget the data, or not clearly understand it the first time read, I have the option of reading it over. I do not always trust myself to absorb all information the first time around. I take a lot of notes to look at. Notes help me remember even though I may not read the again, I can refer to them in my mind after writing them down. I am not sure if just anyone reading them would get anything out of it, but at least I know what they mean.
I find that I learn best when something is delivered to me through a visual medium. If I were to simply look at lesson that is being presented to me and not interact with it. I will become bored and loose interest onto that subject. I must be involved with every step of that lesson so that I may learn properly. I honeslty would not have been so successful with my acddemic carrear if it were not for the efforts of my teachers to incoprate many of their lessons so that I may interact with it. I would have not made this far into
In order to become a world-class engineering student, I will have to expand my goals and prioritize them into categories of immediate, short-term and long-term goals. My immediate goals include completing assignments by their due date, reading the assigned material before it is discussed in class and being fully prepared to face the next day of classes. Short-term goals include doing well in each of my courses, successfully participating in extracurricular activities, and learning about the engineering profession by participating in student engineering societies. Long-term goals include graduating with a bachelor’s degree in engineering, getting a position as an engineer, and becoming a leader within the engineering community as well as the general community.
