Laying a wreath at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier is a huge honor that would be amazing to partake in. This would mean to me in honoring all the lives lost serving our country and honoring all veterans, impacting my future for the better, and I would take away a greater respect from that I already have of many honorable lives lost in wars and who lay in Arlington National Cemetery. I have wanted to visit Arlington National Cemetery and this would be incredible experience.
The book I would like to tell you about is called Among the Hidden. The author of this book is Margaret Peterson Haddix. In this book, there is a boy named Luke Garner who has never been able to leave his backyard. He has only been able to quickly peak through blinds for fear of being seen. Until the day the workers started cutting the trees down, Luke was able to experience a little fresh air while rough-housing with his brothers in their isolated backyard farmland. The reason for this is because of the population law. The government believed that there wasn’t enough food to feed the growing population, so they made the law that there is only a maximum of two children allowed in each family. That meant that Luke was an illegal third

This poem talks about nature and death. William Cullen Bryant shares that nature can make death less painful. He says that when we start to think about death, we should go outside, and look around and listen to the natural earth sounds. This is supposed to remind us that when we die, we will mix back into the earth. The poem tells us that when we die, we will not be alone. We will be with every other person that has ever been buried, In the ground, which in this poem is called the “great tomb of man”. It also tells us that even those that are still living will soon die and join in the great tomb of man. This poem is meant to comfort those that are afraid of dying and death in general. At the end of the poem, we are told to think of death as
Arlington National Cemetery is located in Arlington, Virginia and is home to over 400,000 graves. Service members who died while on active duty, retired members of the Armed Forces, and certain veterans and family members may be buried there. Seeing the countless rows of headstones allowed me to reflect upon the sacrifices made by our U.S. soldiers. I have a tremendous amount of respect for every person buried there. Monuments, memorials and dedicated trees commemorating individuals and significant events in our nation's history are interspersed throughout the cemetery among the headstones of service members for whom Arlington is the final resting place. These people shall never be forgotten. Walking beside the graves allowed me
One of the Unknowns buried at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier was the Unknown from World War II. The trooper was chosen from two caskets, where one casket had the remains of a soldier that was eliminated in Europe, and the other casket had the remains of a soldier that was eliminated in the Pacific. As a result, the other casket with the remains of the other soldier were buried at sea. Before the casket was buried, the casket of the World War II Unknown was laid in the U.S.
