The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 (HASAWA) set a wide standard of duties on all employers. Employers have the responsibility to protect the health, safety and welfare of all their employees at work and other members of staff including temporary, casual workers, the self-employed, visitors and the general public. It also involves taking steps to control slip and trip risks. Employees have a duty not to put themselves or others in danger, and must use any safety equipment provided.
In addition, the workplace Health, Safety and Welfare Regulations also require that floors and surfaces are suitable for purpose and do not expose persons to risk. The Management of Health and Safety at work 1974 also stated that

Gregg’s bakery as a company needs more investment in new technologies in order to integrate the processes across the board. There are also gap in the range of the product being sold as lack of choice for customers can open a new idea or door for the competitors. New product should be added to the existing one. There are low investments in research and development and this can make it difficult for the company to compete with the competitors. The marketing strategy need to be improved, by increasing the advertisement, the discount rate and they can used the leaflets distributors company to distribute the leaflets all over their locations. The Health and Safety at Work Act 1974 covers many health and safety legislations in England and Wales. These include, RIDDOR, COSHH, First Aid, Fire Regulations etc. All of these legislations need to be understood and adhered to when planning any activities.
Under the Health & Safety at work Act I have many responsibilities as an employee. These responsibilities must be obeyed in order to maintain a safe working area and minimize any potential hazards or risks to yourself or others. Some of my responsibilities as an employee are as followed:

In 1974, the Health and Safety at Work Act, also referred to as HSWA, was put in place to make further terms for securing the health, safety and welfare of a person within a working environment, making it the prime piece of legislation to cover the occupational health and safety in Great Britain. Everybody within a workforce has the duty to obey the act in order to promote, stimulate and encourage high standards of health and safety so that themselves, their employees, their fellow peers and the members of the public feel safe. Employees must be provided with the appropriate clothing and equipment for their own safety and protection. Additionally, all machinery that is used, if needed, should be of high standards and regularly checked to make sure that it is still suitable for use.
