Guns Control Against Gun Control

Many people die from gun related incidents every year. Thus, whether guns should be controlled or not has been a converversonl topic for many years. People should be allowed to protect themselves by owning guns, however there should be a restrictions.
People do have the the right to own guns to protect themselves. In an article entitled “Briefing: Armed and Dangerous” The Week explains that the only way for a person to protect themselves and or others from a person using a gun to harm others is for the person to use a gun themselves: “‘The only way to stop a bad guy with a gun is a good guy with a gun”’(11). Also, in the article “The Great Equalizer” the author, Charles C.W. Cooke, tells the story of an african american man who protected him and his family in order to demonstrate that people should be able to own guns in order to protect themselves: “Or, as the Mississippi farmer and civil-rights activist Hartman Turnbow put it with more elan, by opening fire on Klan member who were attacking his home ‘I wasn’t being non-violent, I was just protectin’ my family”’(Cooke 27). In addition, Cooke quotes a University professor named Charles E. Cobb who has spend time with people who live in areas that are prone to attacks to further explain that guns should be able to be kept in the owner’s homes: “‘I lived with the families in the South.
