Social networking connects individuals, businesses and organizations. “Social networks are the foundation of the social media because every form of social media is based on participation from a community of members” (Tuten, 2015, pg. 142). Social networking has a major impact on an organization’s marketing, products and or services. It provides the opportunity to expand businesses and communicate with their potential and current clients. Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and Pinterest are the top four social media platforms used in order to market organizations, their products or services.
We know this poses a huge problem, it’s hard not to notice, especially when thinking about the combination of the rising cost of food, with stagnant or falling incomes, coupled with the unemployment rate and rise in the cost of living. All these factors are the reason people just cannot spend the amount of money they once use to on food. In the 1940’s people would use 24% of their personal disposable income on the purchase of food for the home or away from home, on already prepared food such as that in restaurants. In a survey done by the USDA, Americans today were only using about 9.8% of their personal disposable income on food (Volpe, 2013). This is an extremely large difference and is without question caused by the economy.

To assemble the sculpture, I firstly cut off two side flaps of the cardboard box using a sharp knife and discarded them both. Next, I cut two holes roughly the same size into the box to form the shape of eyes. I selected their position so they could be roughly equidistant to the imaginary vertical line down the centre of the box. After that, I glued a red nightcap between the two remaining flaps of the box. Then, I inserted one energy-saver light bulb into each hole that I carved for the eyes. This was followed by the action of gluing (using liquid glue) the circular end of the melon ball scooper above the red nightcap. I also inserted eleven pins in a crescent shape near the bottom of the box. Moreover, I glued a black scarf on the top of the box, leaving two large portions of the scarf unglued at both ends. Lastly, I stuffed Styrofoam into the interior of a graduation cap and then placed liquid glue on the Styrofoam to glue it onto the black scarf on the top of the box.

Personally homework is one of the things I stress about the most. Homework is key for my understanding of the subject I am studying in class, it is important for the marks I get for when I hand in homework and for studying. It is something that I have to do almost everyday and I have to manage my other activities around it. If homework is not completed then there will be consequences such as lack in understanding of subject, a mark of zero for homework check that day or non approval from my teacher. These all have long term effects such bad quiz, test and exam marks which lead to an overall poor grade average. Grade averages go on our report cards which are used for university applications.
Think back to elementary school when dividing in math class was hard. Staring at the numbers at the paper and forgetting the order of steps in the dividing process. Even when trying their best, many young students still struggle with not understanding the material. The struggle was normally noticed and, as a result, the teacher would send out extra homework and insist “practice makes perfect.” The thought was that giving students homework would give them the additional practice to learn the material. This theory has been the common practice for the past few years. However, it might be time to reconsider this method of learning. Perhaps it is time to leave the worksheets behind and keep the students from wearing out. Homework in elementary schools should be reduced to meaningful work. By comparing and contrasting previous homework methods and the current ban on homework in elementary schools, many school districts will be analyzed in their current decision to reduce the typical amount of homework until fourth grade.
