As the world expands, new jobs are developed just as frequently as old jobs are destroyed, and we have society and lifestyles to thank for that. So when choosing a career field, you must keep that in mind, which might make it a little tricky. When choosing a career you have many factors to take into consideration such as, but not limited to; salary, hours, locations and most importantly if you are going to love what you do and not feel like you're dragging yourself out of bed every morning to go to work. I want to major in social work to be a therapist. The idea of finding a career that would constantly be in demand of employees and secure so I wouldn't have worries of being unemployed, was in the back of my head when I set my plan for my life, early freshman year. Just like careers in the medical field, public services and so much more, a therapist is always going to be in high demand. Sadly unfortunate events are always going to occur causing kids and adults to seek help. No matter how long it takes me to obtain my degree this field is most likely always going to be in need of highly efficient trained employees. Physical, family, marriage and child abuse are just some of the many types of therapy people seek. I personally want to be a child sexual abuse therapist. I feel that sexual abuse is something that disgustingly won't be stopped anywhere in the future. Due to the fact that the world so poorly educates children and families about prevention and simply because there is always going to be corrupted people.

This career will most likely not have many changes due to the fact that sexual abuse is not going to come to a stop anytime soon. I feel that it will stay the way it is now in an office or home setting, very intimate with the child and therapist, maybe a few extra company depending on the situation and client. Just a relaxing atmosphere of comfort and ability to talk out your problems for a sort of relief. I also don't believe the pay will change anytime soon nor will a therapist responsibilities.
