Before this assignment , I did not belong to any professional organizations, however, after researching several organizations, I was able to evaluate several professional organizations and compare how each could assist me in advancing my career in Information Technology. Consequently, research on community participation shows that “informal leaders, who are motivated to participate …show more content…
Similarly, I was also intrigued by the Association of Information Technology Professionals (AITP), which is a professional organization which strives to improve the Information Technology industry by encouraging the evolution, training, and procedures on for both Information Technology professionals and the general public.
Even so, while both of those organizations presented excellent strategies and opportunities for networking and advancement as an Information Technology professional, I chose to become a member of two different groups. Primarily, I was impressed with the numerous member benefits offered through the NPA including the added value to both my resume and my professional “brand” by establishing a commitment to the ideology of professionalism, competency standards, and ethical integrity. Additionally, the NPA provides for an industry-related conference, symposiums, and correspondence for peer to peer networking, as well as , opportunities to develop leadership skills through active participation on NPA committees and in serving in positions of leadership within chapter governance. By the same token, I was interested in the efforts that the NPA makes to delineate itself as an organization that promotes the value of leadership in the industry. The NPA has established an accreditation standard for IT professionals through their Certified Network Professional (CNP) credential. The CNP is intended for and NPA members that are interested in career development, through demonstration of practical knowledge, prope r qualifications, advanced education, and integrity. If you were to look at the history of technology adoption in business, it would be safe to say that professional organizations aimed at defining industry standards for professionalism are still far behind. Particularly, when directly compared to professional organizations like the Certified Public Accountant (CPA), American Bar Association (ABA), or

There is sufficient fake news today that validation of certain packets of SOCMINT might have to simply be thrown on the back burner. There is so little fact checking anyways so one implication is that SOCMINT will be directed to the final user and mass-disseminated if it must reach a large group with the ever present stamp “take this with a grain of salt” or “rumor has it…” The benefit of seeing the big picture remains and patterns can still be detected. “The massive sample size creates something of a normalizing effect and enables higher confidence levels in the inferring of trends, anomalies and patterns which might normally escape notice with small datasets, with implications for future predictions.” (Lim, 2015. 4).
In 2000 the housing unit density for all of Mercer County was just over 74 houses per square mile. The city of Sharon has the highest housing density in the entire county with almost 1,997 unites per square mile. Considering this ratio there are more apartments and people renting rather than owning their own homes to save space. The Northern Tier Area has the lowest density with just 22 houses per square mile so there are no apartments just houses (Housing pg. 41-42).
