Success is a concept that is constantly altered and has a different meaning from person to person. The stereotypical definition of success would be someone who has a high-paying job or is in the upper-class. Malcolm Gladwell, the author of Outliers: The Story of Success, approaches the concept of success in a different and unique way. Today’s society lives in a world that would cause much confusion to others in the past. The people who are “known” are not necessarily people who are loved. Many so called celebrities have just as many haters and they do fans, but that does not stop them from becoming a household name. For example, the Kardashians are a household name across the world. Many people love them, but just as many people love to hate them. Even though, people do not like them it does not stop the family from being one of the most known families in the world. Even if someone has a strong hatred for the family, it does not mean that their name won’t ever come out of their mouth. The definition of success differs from person to person. According to the “Poolside” Cadillac commercial, success is having a large house, nice family and a new car. How is that success accomplished? According to the mainstream media, success is achieved through hard work and perseverance. Not by taking extravagant vacations, or working for only a few hours a day. Success for others on the other hand could be having a large amount of free time. The media gives examples of what they think success is, but ultimately it’s up to the person to decide what is success is.

Being successful in life is not always easy, because of different ways that success can be achieved. With many theories out there on success, it is hard to figure out what is needed to be done to gain success. In everyone’s lives there are many different beliefs out there that can lead to it. In the book “Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell, there are numerous theories that are covered with examples of successful people. They clearly show how success can be done in not just one way but in many others. The most known people that are considered to be successful are billionaires and celebrities. They all have gained success in their lives in their own diverse ways. A good set of successful people in the world today to talk about are Mark Zuckerberg, Whitney Houston, and Nicholas Sparks. These people all come from different backgrounds before gaining their success. Malcolm Gladwell discussed many theories in the book “Outliers” that can relate to the success of the people mentioned above. The true knowledge behind success can be achieved in numerous ways.

Success is a relative term. To a wealthy CEO, success is making his business one million in sales that day. To a child living on the streets, eating dinner that day is a success. What someone might not see though is that the child can teach the businessman a thing or two about about how to live life: humility. Realising that there is more to life than monetary gains, some people just need to appreciate meeting their basic needs. Furthermore, this easy lesson of humility provides the people living in wealth with a sense of how privileged they are.

Little do most people know, the Kardashians became known because of their ties to the largest scandal ever known in NFL history, the OJ Simpson trial. Although the Kardashians have been in the limelight, since OJ Simpson, that’s not how they became known. Robert Kardashian, attorney representing OJ, the murder of his ex-wife and her friend, the Kardashian then name became famous. The 24 hr media coverage of the OJ trial, created the now most well-known and famous family of all time. E news, among many other media outlets picked up the family, and pretty soon we were watching what they eat and what they wear, to a red-carpet event.

Many people look at those who are successful and think it is so simple. An example, Slash from Guns N' Roses, he makes shredding on guitar look simple. The thing is though, no one looks at all the hard work that people put in to be successful. Drug addicts, they go through relapses but they still keep moving forward and kick the drugs. Another example would be body builders, it's not like one day they magically decide that they want to have intense muscles. It takes time to be successful. No one really knows how hard it is to be successful until they actually try.

Going through a divorce is one of the hardest experiences to go through in life, and it doesn’t help when the media is broadcasting every miniscule detail regarding it. Paparazzi standing outside your door, your picture being plastered across every news site on the web, it can make a person go insane. Luckily for Khloe Kardashian, she is more than used to it, starring in the hit TV show Keeping Up with the Kardashians, she’s used to being in the spotlight. From several articles from TMZ, E! News, and CNN, they all differ in how they portray Khloe Kardashian and Lamar Odom in different lights as a means to change the way the readers feel. I am going to explore and discover which article has the least bias on this matter.

When you're a Kardashian, you just can't seem to steer away from reality shows. Even though Rob Kardashian had been reclusive for a long time and he didn't appear in his famous family's reality show, Keeping Up With The Kardashians, for years. Now, he's reclaiming his throne as the king of reality shows and he wants to do it with Blac Chyna.

Everyone in the world knows of at least one person who is rich and famous and they all associate the word success with said person. However, the word success has a deeper meaning than achieving some sort of standard set up by society. Most of the time, these famous and rich “successful” are the ones who have second thoughts about life and experience great stress. Ray BradBury’s Fahrenheit 451 examines a false society where people translate success with wealth and stature but those people who live under a false sense of “success” find themselves to be subconsciously unhappy.

Most people in today’s society define success as someone who makes a lot of money or has done something important to help form today’s society. People such as Bill Gates or Donald Trump are considered successful because they have lots of money. Even actors whose lives are wrecked and destroyed are considered successful because of the money they have. Others, like Thomas Edison, are considered successful because of accomplishments they achieved in their lives. Thomas Edison, for example, created the light bulb, so most people would consider him successful. In his book, Think & Grow Rich, Napoleon Hill gives 13 steps on how to have the right mindset, attitude, and ability to become successful.

It's no secret that Khloe Kardashian is not a fan of Rob Kardashian and Blac Chyna's new found love. She has already spoken up about family loyalty once before, considering that her brother's new love interest is their youngest sister, Kylie Jenner's number one nemesis. So when she shared a post about someone "toxic" in her life on social media, is she referring to Rob?

The art form of achieving pure success only goes to the person that jumps through hurtles to reach their goals. Success is defined as the accomplishment of an aim or purpose, or the attainment of popularity or purpose. Leonardo DiCaprio exclaims, “Be thankful for the hard times, for they have made you”. This argues that success is not measured on fame, but on the journey it took to reach that success. Even cashing a check and coming back after a loss, or a decision that could end your close relationship with your daughter forever, are forms of success.

Teenagers are using celebrities such as Kylie Jenner, as idols, trying to copy them in all that they do. Most of the time it seems celebrities are not the greatest of role models for impressionable girls and boys, but whether Jenner is responsible for her negative influences on young people is debatable. She is famous and obviously sets standards in today’s society, but she is also a teenager herself, with little experience when it comes to obsessive fans.

It’s really hard keeping up with the Kardashian/Jenner family. There are a lot of them, and there’s always something going on. On Friday September 22 though, the youngest sibling in the family, Kylie Jenner, took center stage when it was announced by multiple media outlets that she's pregnant.
