If I were to meet any character from any book or series it would be… Kendra Sorenson from Fable Haven. Why? One, she is fairy kind so she can speak and read the fairy language, or anything around Sylvan, or she can speak to fairies, Imps, Goblins, Brownies, Snipes, Naiads, and Unicorns, and she can recharge magical items. Two, she is the opposite of her little brother Seth Sorenson who is a shadow Charmer, and does just about the opposite of Kendra. Third, she was friends with 3 enemies, saved Fable Haven twice, saved her family 3 times, was in 2 wars, went to the Fairy Queens shrine 3 times, raised an army twice, been to 4 different secret preserves, been kidnapped once, has a unicorns b.f., and was the first one to become a knight for the
1) When evaluating the opportunity for Heather Evans it is important to analyze the situation from a few perspectives. From an industry perspective there is ample opportunity for her to succeed. The barriers to entry are quite low with no clear market leader and even the largest companies do not have high relative market share. Her concept appears to provide her with some differentiation and that will help to position her products to a target segment of the market. The industry growth rate is a strong 10%; however customer retention will be a challenge. Evans does not seem to have the requisite experience or network in the industry to embark on a solo venture. In all, there is an opportunity for a designer with a strong business plan to be
Sweet, fun, smart, and spunky are just a few of the words that come to my mind when I think about Alyssa Tirado. Alyssa was born on August 23rd, 2001 to Jeffrey and Danielle Tirado in Deltona, Florida. She also lived in St. Augustine before she moved to Naples in 5th grade. Alyssa has a great relationship with her older brother Julien who she looks up to. She is new at FBA this year, but is very social and has made many friends. Alyssa is an amazing cheerleader and has cheered since she was in 5th grade. She cheers for both the football team and basketball team. When she graduates high school, Alyssa plans on attending USF and becoming a radiologist. Alyssa likes to spend her free time at the beach, shopping, and with her boyfriend Daniel Marquina.
Born Gwendoline Nessie Foster on 8 June 1920 into a self-sufficient family that was full of music, philosophy, religion and language, Gwen had many early influences in her childhood that were clearly going to have an effect on her later life. Gwen's family had strong connections with music and it became a very important part of her life, causing her to aspire to become a musician. Gwen's grandmother introduced her to poetry and she began to write her own in the 1950's. Soon after, she learnt the German language to establish a wider reading of poetry and involve the language in her own works. Gwen married a linguist named William Harwood in 1945 and then moved around the Southern parts of Tasmania where she lived until her death in December
Thank you for sharing your on-site issue. I am expressive with my facial expressions quite often and until your post, I am not sure if I viewed this as a major problem. You are spot on with being concerned with. Anyone that has been on the received end of a disapproving facial expression understands how it can sting. I was thinking about how Thelma from Love’s Executioner and she would have reacted to Dr. Yalom (1989) if he lost that poker face. There were times we can infer that he might have let his face communicate a judgement and it impacted the session. Navarro (2011) states, “...there are over 215 behaviors associated with psychological discomfort and most of those are not in the face (para.14).” Yikes!!! I would
While sitting on Edna Ruthie’s steps Alicia was another person that told Esperanza that she is Mango Street and weather she likes it or not Esperanza will have to come back to her home and help the people that can not be helped. Alicia points out that nobody is going to come and help Mango Street be a better place to live as she says, “Who’s going to do it? The mayor?” (107). Esperanza is ashamed of living on Mango Street and is jealous of Alicia that can go back to her home, Guadalajara, some day when she is ready. Esperanza has nowhere to go except 4006 Mango Street where she feels she doesn’t belong or a new house that she can’t have until an adult. Alicia does help Esperanza realize that no matter what happens to Esperanza when she grows
Growing up in a small town, it is encouraging to see successful people stem from the same place. Success can be defined in different ways. Most people from my town consider moving to a bigger city and never coming back a success. My cheer coach, Kimberly Truitt, is living proof that success can be defined as growing as a person and overcoming hardships. As a teenager, she atteneded the very same high school that I currently attend, Abbeville High School, where she was also a varsity cheerleader. Ms. Truitt grduated in YEAR and took the first step in becoming what is traditionaly considered a successful person in our town. She went to college in a different state, Florida A & M University. While attending Florida A & M, she pledged Delta Sigma

It is not uncommon for a rider to believe that they are sitting straight when they are actually leaning to one side or forwards or backwards. I found the following exercises in an article by Nancy Wesolek-Sterrett. Doing the following exercise will help me realize when I am leaning or collapsing my ribcage and not weighting my seat bones evenly. I will have the horse stand square next to a mirror or trot past it. The mirror will allow me to see if my nose, chin, breastbone, belly button, and spine all align with the horse’s center. Do I fall forward or backward? Do I arch or round my back? If a rider tends to put more weight in one stirrup than the other, she will push her weight onto the seat bone on the weaker side. Instead of pushing
One person I would choose to be if I had to pick fictional or nonfictional, is Jessica Day, or Jess, from the T.V. show, New Girl. Jess has this certain personality that would clash with mine in a positive outlook. In the show, Jess is a teacher for elementary kids, and that I find pretty substantial. I remember when I was younger, I suggested to be a teacher as one of my professions and Jess was basically who I wanted to be when I first witnessed the show. She’s simple in the way her life is structured and how she decides to decipher her decisions. Jess’s personality--to me, I consider her bubbly, outgoing and somewhat blunt, or straight to the point.
Christie uses different points of view throughout the novel for added suspense to keep the reader “on edge”. When using different points of view, you get to see inside the character’s mind. When inside their mind you get to see how alike they really are, each person has equal suspicions and guilt in their own personal ways. Using different points of view has the reader play a self-guessing game about who the murder is.
People say, “You don’t know what you’ve got till it’s gone.” Truth is, you knew what you had, you just never thought you’d lose it. For many people the ability to walk doesn’t cross their mind because their used to doing it every day. Unfortunately, between ten thousand and twenty thousand people are diagnosed with avascular necrosis (AVN) each year in the United States, including my sister Julie Cerrone. Since I saw first-hand what she went through most of the stories she tells can be emotional. Avascular necrosis left her on crutches for about three to three and a half years of her life and she was only in her late twenties. She was more than happy to share her incredible journey with us that took place over the last couple of years.
Shipwreck at the Bottom of the World is a fictional book, written by Jennifer Armstrong. It tells the true and extraordinary tale of the Imperial Trans-Antarctic Expedition, led by Sir Ernest Shackleton 1914-17. All of the men worked extremely hard to get back home alive, but three men stood out the most. Those three men are: Sir Ernest Shackleton, Frank Worsley, and Tom Crean. These men were definitely the most essential to the entire expedition, and took part in almost every single task executed.
