Since its founding in 1945, the United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights has worked to preserve the basic human rights and fundamental freedoms it believes to be deserved of by every man, woman, and child on the planet. In efforts to eliminate violations of human rights, building awareness and protesting inhumane treatment has often led to calls for action and sometimes improved conditions. Everyone has duties in the world and have human rights in to acknowledge their full ability to be who they are and not be punished for that. In the exercise of his rights and freedoms, everyone shall be subject only to such limitations as are determined by law solely for the purpose of securing due recognition and respect for the rights and freedoms of others and of meeting the just requirements of morality, public order and the general welfare of others.

It was a response to the immense loss of life and destruction caused by Second World War and the failure of the international community to respond to it swiftly.
