My Analytical Writing Score Analysis

Throughout the progression of this course I learned countless things concerning my writing. {Simkin, M. G., Crews, J. M., & Groves, M. J. (2012). While it’s there’s a many amounts of things ‘ve learned throughout the course, there are several things I‘ve learned which include the step by step process, including the correct usage of grammar and properly proofreading my work before I turn it in. I found out i had a major problem with my punctuation usage and insufficient when it came my periods and commas. I’ve invested some time writing through grammarly and other helpful sites to improve my writing skills. I appreciate the assistance and help I received from Mrs. C

No relationship is is good one-hundred percent of the time. Sometimes the relationship is good and you enjoy it, other times you fight and would rather be by yourself. My relationship with writing is no different. Sitting down and typing out an essay can be relaxing and therapeutic at times. However, there are times when it would be preferable to just divorce the whole process. This is why my relationship with writing is a “love-hate” one.

The writing of my college essay was quite a process. Normally for me writing comes rather easy, I do not struggle putting my ideas on paper. At first I thought that this essay would be simple to do and not be very stressful. It turned out to be quite the opposite in fact, just brainstorming was a struggle for me. It was difficult for me to think about my life and how it is special. To me, the events that have shaped me do not seem that relevant, at 18 I had never really payed much attention to how certain things affected me, I just lived my life. eventually , with the help of Mary, I came to the realization that having my summer taken away from me due to a broken foot had really changed my life philosophy, it truly changed who I was and my outlook on life.

I have been writing papers for a long time, but I am by no means the best writer I can be. To unleash my full potential as a writer, I have to review all my old writings. I have to analyze my past writing style so that I can see if there is anything I can do differently. Overall, the creation process of my papers can be better. Maybe taking a look at who I am as a writer will help me improve.

Throughout all four years of high school, the “meaning” of a race and all its components were described to me in great detail. My coach found that a three mile cross country race could apply to almost anything. He would analyze races by separating each mile. The first mile is run with one’s legs, the second with their brain, and the third with their heart. I never fully understood how the versatility of the science of a race. Immediately when thinking about how to explain my writing process and how I could reflect on this past semester while also encompassing the theme of love, the three mile cross country race that had been engrained in my brain came to mind.

Being a perpetually anxious person, I tend to be particular in my daily life. I need to clean my room and make my bed before I leave. I must sleep at 9:00pm every night. I have to wake up at 6:00am every morning. I need to do a certain thing at a specific time, or it throws me off. Writing allows me to be messy. It allows me to vomit words and struggle to write a coherent sentence before finally, my thoughts are realized onto the paper. My process is wonderfully disorganized. It is starting to write, eventually erasing everything I've written, starting all over again, realizing that I was straying from my point, and retyping it a second time. My process is becoming frustrated at the pretentious introduction. It's wanting to smash my computer

Writing isn’t for everyone, yet the number of people writing in this exact moment is pretty monstrous if you google it. Writing has basically been there for me since I was born, it was there when they wrote my birth certificate, when i was learning how to write my name, when i wrote my first essay, taking the STAAR tests, practicing for the AP test, to my first writing assignment for college. People are gifted with creating such rich, breathtaking, emotional, and deep work that last for generations and generations (not me), but writing has not always been a friend to me. The process of writing is not just write and your done, no you need to take time and let your ideas gush out (duh you already knew that) but also to edit and revise to make those final drafts. Writing can be a huge pain in the buttocks (ass), but it isn 't that bad. Here are some of my issues and strengths about writing and my take on it.

As a high school student taking on a college course, I acknowledged and accepted the challenge that lay ahead of me. The main reason I selected Composition I and II was that it allowed me to vastly improve my overall writing skills. Developing my techniques will benefit me when I am required to compose any writing assignments for my future college classes. Therefore, with that goal in mind, I chose to take this class while still attending high school. I began this class as an average writer; additionally, I did not know the majority of the writing rules or how to make an essay meet its potential. Over the course of these two classes, I believe that I have proven my writing to be more seamless and interesting to read.

1. Writing Experiences: What have been your academic writing experiences? What writing challenges have you faced? Why have they been challenges? How did you overcome these challenges?

This activity was a very fair assessment of me. Math has always been my strongest suit and it showed through the report as well. It helps me immensely with my writing mechanics and becoming a better writer.

To write my adventure book, I went through all the stages of writing process both in and outside of class to create a book I am proud of. The writing process involves many steps like prewriting, drafting, revising, editing, and finally publishing and sharing. For the prewriting stage, we were brainstorming monster characters and the adventures they would go on for a lesson in class and this is where the idea of my adventure book was created. For the drafting stage, I would work on the draft of my story inside and outside of class. When working on my rough draft, I would go back and add more figurative language such as alliterations and onomatopoeias in my story.

You have to struggle in order to perform better. In my opinion, i am a little creative and critical in my writing, i guess you could call it creatively critical or critically creative. some writing habits i have are my usage of detail and description. Sometimes i may over describe something,adding too many details, and some of them may become a little redundant. Another habit would be comparing one thing to another thing using similes or metaphors. I think that the comparisons help to paint a picture in the mind of whoever reads my writing so they can better understand it. I have always been a thinker .Writing had always been one of my strengths, but it was still challenging .

I have been through a multitude of writing assignments and projects throughout my college career, and I can say that beginning them has always been the hardest thing for me to do. There are many that I don’t remember but, those that I do, are the ones that have influenced my writing technique the most. Some assignments and projects have influenced my writing while working through them, while others I learned from mistakes by eating the dust of a bad grade due to grammatical errors, or poor planning. Both of which, have shaped me to be the writer I am today. There are many weaknesses that I have overcome in the writing process through major assignments,

Deciding what University to attend, can often be a difficult decision. There are many factors to take into consideration. First being, how much time you want to spend in and out of the classroom. Second, the amount of money you want to spend on your education. And lastly, how accredited is the school of your choice. I came back to school as a working adult. I had little time, and financial responsibilities, so I knew a short term program was what I was looking for. At first, I thought an online university was my best route. As I began to analyze my choices, I quickly began to see that a completely online university might not be the best option.

Analytical Writing Analysis is the first part of your GRE. As soon as you start your GRE exam, this is the first thing which you have attempt. So, this is essentially your section-1 of GRE exam which has a duration of 1 hour.
