Some health care professional who are not committed to the care value base may treat service users unfairly. For example, a care worker that is not demonstrating the role of empathy may not want to listen or respect the ideals of the service users because the care worker is not in their position and do not see things from service users point of view. Working as a Home Health Aid I would often show empathy to my clients, promote safety and quality, and I would maintain a positive attitude. Empathy was an important part of my job. As a home health aid I would work with clients to promote good hygiene and complete any dietary needs. I would make sure to be as empathetic as possible with my clients by listening to their preferences or concerns about my job. Since I worked very closely with clients I wanted to make sure they were comfortable with me, so empathy was my main priority. Safety was another important part of being an aid.
