In 2012, I awaken with a business idea that I was sure would be the next best concept, the next Starbucks for college students across the country. My dream was built around cereal, this pastime concept that every kid and adult grew up enjoying. Until this day, I love waking up to a bowl of cereal rather cold or hot. My beliefs are with the amount of work and lack of time many of use have today to actually enjoy a full course breakfast. The creation of The Daily LLC would be a success by giving us all time back in our daily lives, while enjoying such pastime while also completing our work, studies, and relaxing in a nice settled environment. Please allow me to take you on a tour of my dreams.
First I had to decide what business entity would be best for my business? My initial thought was to create a sole proprietorship. However, based on some initial research, I realize immediately that this type of business will take a team to be successful. In addition, I was not interested in my business being taxed as personal income, and I was not interested in assuming all liabilities if I were to be sued. The next thought, was to create a partnership with someone who would have the same interest in the business that I have. This individual would assist in investing, deciding which location would be best for our business, and also to bring additional skillsets to the business. Again, the only down fall for this type of business entity would that I would be personally liable for any decision my business partner makes, and that my personal assets would be at risk. After reviewing these two business entities and

• Personal Liability: With this sort of business entity, I would be protected from personal liability for business decision or actions of the
There were many people in my life that got me to who I am today. My family and friends were the main people that influenced who I am. There were many events that influenced me but the most recent one is picking early college.
Starting high school can be a little scary, especially when you have no guidance from siblings, like me, being the first one from my family to have an education. But that did not stop me from succeeding, I?ve always been confident and determined. I?m an enthusiastic when it comes to trying new things. Who would have thought I was going to be a good athlete plus a book geek, when in my past years I was just a regular kid. I was pretty excited about joining a club that had a connection with high school, that way I didn?t have to start from zero, I always want to be a step ahead. Fortunately, in summer, a high school coach was recruiting freshmen for running either cross country or track, they both involve running, so I considered it like the same sport with different timing. And this is when it all started. Running
Over my years of school, one big influence on me has always been sports. Ever since a young age, I have always enjoyed playing and watching sports. In my four years in high school, I have fell in love with the sport of lacrosse.
I woke up and took one bite out of my pop tart but that one bite was all I could eat. My legs were shaking, and my heart was pounding. My dad told me, “It is a true honor to even make it this far so go out there and have some fun.” Once I heard this statement, I knew I was ready to go. I arrived at school and boarded the bus. The car ride was an hour and fifteen minutes of hearing the squeaking of the wheel on the bus. My teammates were getting their heads ready for the big game.
I’ve always asked myself,” what does it really take to make it big? To play amongst the greats, how could I do that? Me, Skylar Ross, a young man with this desire, the passion, wanting to play side by side with legends, to become someone people talk about, is what has pushed me all these years. It drove me to become a better player, to become more informed about the sport. This also influenced me to become more intertwined with school, that way I could have a better chance at getting a scholarship at a college.
It is a somewhat unspoken agreement that people all have, and breaking this agreement is frowned upon. The bathroom is a very unsocial place. You go do your business and then leave, it is very simple. The social norm that I broke was talking to someone in the stall next to me, and continuing to have a conversation even when it was clear they did not want to have one.
As one can see form the business matrix how each business offers different types of liability exposure to the owner if they were to get sued? There is a great importance to understand what each business type is and the benefits each type of business offers. Not all business are the same and as such there is a need to see which one fits best for the organization. Each type of business offers benefits that support the business structure however, one can see the perspective from legal situation, if the business organization was to get sued, owner liability differs, some offer limited liability and some offers unlimited liability. A corporation for general partnership, affects owner’s assets, both personal and business. In retrospect, this aspect is a true depiction for business ownership, one has to consider how one can minimize
Have you ever been so desperate for something that you modify your motive in its entirety? Throughout my life I’ve found myself placed in this frightening situation multiple times; the most confusing of which would be what I’ve endured this year. People in their 20s have it rough. We’re old enough to feel like we’re supposed to know what we’re doing, yet young enough to roll in the tide aimlessly and clueless and it still be acceptable. Then there’s those of us who believe we’ve got it all figured out only to be proven tremendously wrong. I have learned, however, that being tremendously wrong can lead you right where you need to be.
I have never looked up information about the day I was born, but The Day newspaper and my family supplied plenty of interesting information. I was born on December 24, 1997, in Phoenix, Arizona. I moved to Kentucky in 2000; therefore, I was too young to remember living there. Some people think that being a Christmas Eve baby is cool. Except they don’t understand what it’s like when your family members combine your birthday and Christmas presents together.
According to Kottler, Zehm and Kotler (2005), teachers should "spend considerable time and effort building positive relationships with children, allowing their authenticity, genuiness, and caring to shine through. This statement drives what I'd like to be said about me at my retirement dinner. I want my students to say that I was a human being willing to relate my experiences to theirs and that I was their biggest motivator.
I have never worked retail before this internship. Everything that I am going to learn is all new me. The department that I was assigned to work in is Cabinet and Appliances. The managers I am learning under is Joe and Heather.
“Who thought the baptism water would be as cold as an ice bath?” Much like anyone growing up in Las Vegas, or otherwise known as “Sin City,” we have always been surrounded by people from The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints. Those people are commonly known as “Mormons.” Boy, let me tell you, there are Mormons everywhere in Vegas! There was always something about them that made me interested. There was a light as bright as the sun that always shined from them. They always had a smile on their face, from ear to ear and once you start talking to them I found that they are the nicest people. I then got to know and started hanging out with the Mormons. I then became interested with the religion aspect.
It was the last inning, the count was two balls and two strikes with two outs. Our catcher calls a curveball, I move three steps to my right. Alex is in the stretch, he starts his motion towards home, the runner on first breaks for second base. The pitch is delivered and the ball is hit directly up the middle and over the pitcher’s head, coming from shortstop, I break to my left, I am about to catch the ball when I glance at the runner. He was sliding right into me, I caught the ball, jumped up, and threw the ball while in mid-air. It was a perfect throw, right to the first baseman’s chest. That was it, the game was over, we had just beaten the number one team in the country to advance to the world series! We all threw
“Five more minutes,” I respond, while rubbing my eyes, then rolling onto the “cool side” of the bed.
After the creation of a business plan, the next step to operating a business is the selection of an appropriate business structure. Different legal forms of business ownerships affect different managerial and financial factors from the business names to the tax obligations (Gregory, n.d.). The most common forms are sole proprietorship, partnership, cooperatives, and corporations. There are different types of corporations in the business world, but the two most general corporation types are S Corporation and Limited Liability Company (LLC) (Ferrell et al., 2013). The sole proprietorship is the easiest and most basic form of business ownership. It is owned and run by one individual, which is the proprietor. The individual is entitled to all profits and is responsible for all the business’s
