Persuasive Essay On Global Warming

The Earth is our home, so why don’t we take care of it and preserve it? Most people think that they can’t make a difference as just one individual in a world of over 7 billion people, but that couldn’t be farther from the truth. Anything from being a vegetarian, which highly reduces the amount of water used and byproduct created when farming animals, to carpooling to school helps combat global warming. By convincing my English class that global warming is an important issue that we are facing today and will face in the future, I hope to get them to take their own initiatives to reduce their footprint on our planet Earth.

Global Warming is a major world problem that we have but people don’t seem to realize that and it may end all life on earth as we know it. We are causing many problems to the earth that we don’t realize what we are doing we may think everything is ok but it’s not. Global warming is all our fault and we need to stop!

We might disagree on the causes of global warming. We cannot ignore that it is happening. We still experience cold winters, average global temperatures has risen drastically for the past three decades. Polar ice caps are melting. Sea levels are rising. Scientists predict more extreme weather in the coming decades. Drought will probably be more common. Flooding and tropical temperatures might cause large amounts of methane gases to be released. This could be disastrous for our atmosphere. Climate change may have human causes; it might be a natural occurrence. We must find ways to save our planet.

First of all, the main effect of global warming is the fact that it causes warmer temperatures. While warmer temperatures may seem beneficial and good, the ways the atmosphere is becoming warmer isn’t that great. To explain, what this shows is that nature is already creating greenhouse gasses and people are adding even more to the atmosphere. While people strive on greenhouse gasses for warmth, the amount of greenhouse gasses forming will cause numerous environmental hazards in the future.

Due to these things, we have encountered unusual climate changes, such as ocean acidification and the melting of ice caps. Global warming is real and can be reduced as well as affected by humans, but it is not a topic we need to prioritize.

In order to understand the issue of global warming (also referred to as climate change), you must first understand what it means and how it happens. Global warming is a result of a process known as the greenhouse effect, in which the light and heat from the sun are trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere by greenhouse gases; which subsequently raises the average temperature on Earth. Therefore, the loss of ice caps, glaciers, and snow is furthering the increase in the temperature of the planet.
