When in a health and social care environment the service providers need to make sure service that the users, using the service are being treated in the right way. If this is not ensured it could result to the service users being abused, treated differently due to vulnerability. Other reasons that may result to poor treatment are: different social classes, different social statuses and many more, this may vary depending on the situation.
When talking about abuse there are different types which may be considered:

No matter what act is committed or the duration of the act, it will be classed as sexual assault. This can also relate to the amount of force, the length of the duration, or infrequency, which is all related to sexual assault. Those that commit the offense are called sexual abusers. Those that go through sexual abuse will show indicators that will help others to acknowledge that there is something wrong, which has caused them to shut down. Indicators of abuse are: the individual will completely shut down- which means that they are not themselves, they will constantly be scared and go into closure. This is when the individual starts to shut down: physically, emotionally, mentally and socially. It may also mean that they let themselves go, have poor hygiene, changes in behaviour, low self-esteem, social withdrawal etc.
Physical abuse - is use of physical force that may result in pain or injury this can range from poking, pushing, pulling hair and hitting this can be with hands or weapons there are many more forms of physical abuse.

In all cases of abuse priority must be given to ensuring the safety and care of the vulnerable individual. Listen carefully to what you have be told and even it sounds fanciful do not dismiss it. Reassure the abused person, try to understand what may have happened, but do not interrogate the person or suggest you do not believe

In the United States, people with disabilities are often treated badly by the society. The reason that elders are being abused is due to the fact that they are disabled. People with disabilities cannot do things for themselves, so they rely on other people. Elders abuse come in many types of forms. For instance, it could be physical, emotional, or financial exploitation abuse. Therefore, elders need someone who they could rely on and give them the good care that they need.
On the one hand, the emotionally abused are mainly females that have experienced a dramatic trauma in their life (Etain et al, 2010). According to Burns et al., (2010) women who had been sexually, physically, or emotionally abused are greater emotion instruction compared to women without abuse histories. Many of the children’s teachers have concerns about possible physical abuse because of bruising. The reporter stated Kaution was asked about a bruise but would not answer but later told another member of administration that he fell on the bus on 08/13/15. The reporter stated Kaution’s bruises are not consistent with his report. According to the reporter, Kaution has a bruise on his lower left arm near his wrist and a bruise on his upper arm area near his elbow; the bruises look like cigarette burns. The reporter stated all of the children have bruises and scraps on their body that have been there since school started on 08/06/15. IRTC spoke with assigned CPS, Stephen Masiello, who reported that he spoke with the subject child was reported that she is hit with various objects as a form of discipline. CPS assessed the subject child and there were no visible sign of physical abuse. CPS expressed that the subject child mentioned that she is grabbed by the face, but there is no indication that she is actually coked by anyone residing in the household. Based on the above documentation, this case not meet the criteria for an IRT.
