And both males and females are paid equally according to their ranks in the field. Same is the case with the customer sales rep position. The fluctuation, I would say little fluctuations, that is seen is due the fact that sales job are relying on commission also. Therefore, it is inevitable to pay all the employees the same amount of salary. 4. Are there any trends in the in the engagement scores that suggest a possible violation of federal EEO laws? If so, please report those differences, specify the law that would be relevant in analyzing this information further, and explain how you would proceed in order to determine if Lopez Vending is in compliance with the law. (5) According to the data gathered through the survey, it cannot be clearly obtained that the company is violating the EEO laws or not. The scores show more of the quantitative information while to find out what actually employees feel about the work environment, their employers and their jobs, more interviews, group discussions and activities should be run. Anyhow, the data shows that, there is no as such violation of the laws. The flaw, however, could be seen. The company might be running in extremes. For example, the average score says that the company is keeping the employees well equipped but on the other hand it is slow in providing the training. Same is the case with recognition given on performance and conflict between actual job and job description. 5. In addition to the possibility
Before introducing the workplace issues related to the development of four-day workweek, a clear definition of this schedule is needed. According to Department of Labor (n.d.), “A workweek is a fixed and regularly recurring period of 168 hours, or seven consecutive 24-hour periods. The workweek does not have to coincide with the calendar week, but instead it may begin on any day of the week and at any hour of the day.” It might be the “four-day, 32-hour workweek – more leisure, less work” (Wernette 1), or the “three-day, 40 hour, compressed work week” that Vega
In this country, getting paid to perform your job is understood. It is routine. It is expected. It is right. But how is one employee’s salary regarded in comparison to another employee’s salary? Do these salaries have to be equal? Most would agree that if both employees are performing the same tasks at the same establishment with the same amount of dedication and efficiency, equal pay is deserved. But what about if one employee is male and the other female, then on what grounds are their salaries determined? This answer shows its true colors through the life of one woman working for a well established company where nearly all employees were men, and for her particular position, she was the sole female. Her efforts to overcome pay

Compensation is made up of two primary areas. Those areas are salary administration and benefits. In many companies, payroll is a role within the accounting department. In other companies, payroll is positioned in compensation. Currently, Motors and More consist of one female supervisor and four male managers. Although, Motors and More does not have an issue with providing equal pay, we will make sure the company pays every employee sufficiently. “The Equal Pay Act requires that men and women in the same workplace be given equal pay for equal work. The jobs need not be identical, but they must be substantially equal. Job content (not job titles) determines whether jobs are substantially equal. All forms of pay are covered by this law.” (Eeoc.gov, 2015)
Not all workers desire the same thing, but it appears that Home Depot’s workforce agrees that flexibility and stability with opportunities for promotion are at the top of their list. While Home Depot’s total rewards package is competitive and offer its employees a multitude of options, there are a few recommended changes to achieve its employee engagement, retention and business goals. Offering flexible work options may include flextime schedules, telecommuting, compressed work schedules, part-time arrangements and job sharing (Flexible Work Options Guide, n.d.). These options offer multiple approaches to getting work done through non-traditional work hours, location and job structures. Many employees are now knowledgeable of what organizations
What I learn from my Informative Presentation is that it help me realize that technology has helped us on our lives. For example, the computer we use it for homework, to do research, and meet new friends, etc. How I prepared was I did some research through the Internet about how technology impacted the world. Got the outline and started writing information to it. Then I got some flashcards and put the most information to the flashcards. I started reading the flashcards until I has a well understanding about what I was going to say. The examples were true facts so i would not had trouble memorizing it. I mange my anxiety by breathing in and out 3 time, what also help was talk to the people around me, that gave me the confidence to do the speech.
How many times have you crossed your fingers in class with a racing heart, hoping that the next assignment wouldn’t be an oral presentation? What about sweaty palms and those butterflies you feel in your stomach right before it’s your turn to present, ever felt those? I certainly have, and that crippling anxiety along with the fear of rejection that you have to deal with when speaking in front of an audience is exactly why I believe students shouldn’t be forced into that situation just to receive good grades. Why force students into doing something that makes them uncomfortable when they could show their understanding through other means in the first place?
Employees’ pay varies for different reasons such as level of education, duties, performance, working hours which is acceptable. Bianco says that “[d]espite many efforts to change the status quo, current research shows a persistent gender pay gap between men and women, and an even greater gap between men and minority women, in the tech industry” (Bianco). Employees with the same skills, equal educational background and equal working hours tend to be discriminated in many ways and one of them is wage. Men and women are not paid equally, even in the

Four-day workweek, like the name suggests, calls for replacing the five eight-hour days with four ten-hour days without changes in hourly earnings or weekly earnings. Therefore, the same number of hours of work and leisure are provided at the same earnings. The concept of a compressed workweek is not new, even if it is not the norm for most jobs. Proposals to reduce weekly hours of work, a major concern of American labor in the early years of century, are again a serious concern to many people. The 2008 National Study of Employers, released by the Families and Work Institute, found that 38 percent of US firms allow a compressed workweek for some employees. Eight percent permit it for all or most employees (Gardner). When a growing number of employers are considering converting to a compressed four-day workweek, it is important to understand positives and negatives of the new work schedule, to analyze a specific example of company that have failed in converting to the new policy, and to understand additional factors to consider before the implementation of the new policy.
Flexible work programs are work arrangements in which employees are granted greater scheduling freedom in how they accomplish the responsibilities of their positions. The most common of these programs is flextime, which allows employees leniency in terms of the time when they start and end their work day, on condition that they put in the total number of hours expected by the employer. Another common flexible working program is telecommuting, which allows employees to complete their workload at home (Chung and Tijdens 2012; Jones and Jones 2011). Flexible working arrangements enable employees to balance the job responsibility and children’s safety at home especially for working mothers (Michael 2004; De Roure
