Exercises 80, 82, and 87 (Ch. 3)
Exercise 80* a. The times are a population because we are considering the wait times for all of the customers seated on Saturday night. b. To find the mean: µ = ∑ X N µ = 1021 25 µ = 40.84
To find the median:
The midpoint value of the population is 39.
c. To find the range:
Range = Largest Value – Smallest Value
Range = 67 – 23
Range = 44
To find the standard deviation: σ = √∑ (X - µ)2 N σ = √∑(X – 40.84) 2 = √5291.36 = √211.65 = 14.55 25 25
Exercise 82* a. To find the mean cost:
X = ∑fM = 7,060 = $141.20 N 50 b. To find the standard deviation: s = √∑f (M - X)2 =

When X = 29, z = -1.5
When X = 34, z = 1
P(-1.5 < z < 1) = 0.4332 + 0.3413 = 0.7745 = 77.45%
c. z = X - µ σ z = 28.7 – 32 = -3.3 = -1.65 2 2
P( z < -1.65) = .0495 = 4.95%

Awareness of what health threats I might be susceptible to, and information I learned in this course about health behavior change has led me to take primary and secondary prevention actions (Straub, 2014, pp. 204). Knowing that I have a predisposition to breast cancer, ovarian cancer, hypertension, and heart problems has motivated me to exercise and improve my physical fitness, and visit the doctor more regularly to stay as healthy as possible and keep myself from getting sick. I don’t do drugs or drink alcohol because such behaviors can cause short-term and especially long-term health consequences. These are examples of primary prevention. At a recent visit to the doctor, I was informed that I have high cholesterol,

In every business, there are laws and regulations. They control what information we can collect and share. They tell us how and what we can do with it. The automotive industry is no different, especially in the finance office. It is my desire to share this information with my team and customers. I feel it important to communicate these rules to establish clear consistent procedures. These procedures will allow us to maintain compliance, safe guard customer information, and provide ethical practices, and to provide examples of some of the industries shortcomings, and how we can move past them.
College education is an important investment that demands both time and money. Most students depend on college loans to cater for their costs of attendance, including tuition and fees. The lenders expect the students to pay back the loans in full amount after college. However, the ability of the students to pay back the loans is dependent on their success in the job market, particularly their earnings. Some college degrees lead to careers with good pay while others do not. In this regard, an evaluation of the return on investment (ROI) of a college degree is important. The ROI evaluates whether the benefits of attending college, usually the future earnings, outweigh the costs. It is important to choose a college that guarantees a better ROI to earn back the tuition costs and offset the student loans. The current evaluation compares the ROIs of two college majors (business and engineering) and two different types of schools (public and private).

During my first semester, I was struggling with understanding a few concepts in my COMM 290 course and decided to ask help from girls that I had initially met in my learning community. In fact, we planned on becoming roommates, as we noticed that we worked well together more so during the early stages of our friendship.
