Good Morning everyone, i'm here today to address the situations regarding recycling. There is much debate as to if it is truly beneficial to recycle, some see it as a waste of time gathering resources and money in gas to take it to recycling centers. If local governments gave you the opportunity to recycle by providing recycling bins would you take advantage? If you said no, there are plenty of reasons as to why you should say yes, starting with economic benefits. By 2025 it is estimated that the U.S will save over 850 billion dollars(BIR President Ranjit Baxi). Big businesses such as Apple are already on board with recycling, this year alone they have made 40 million in recycled devices (Environmental Responsibility Report). Other benefits include environment. Some disclaimers believe that landfill spaces will not fill up anytime soon and that they are not harmful to the environment, on the other hand why should we wait until it becomes a problem to fix our landfills? If we can stop the problem at its source there is no reason not to recycle as it positively affects everyone. …show more content…
Yes, almost everyone throws something away that could be recycled, if they instead recycled it would benefit all communities across the United States. A little bit of time your during the week to sort out recyclables can lead to endless positivity, and lets you specify make a change in our great nation. A great way for the gov to adapt to your living is sending out a survey that asks the top three recyclable products you can find throughout your household. The the local local governments can plan routes accordingly as to the recyclables they need to pick up, an example could be on mondays they will come around to pick up plastic
Attention Getter- So I'm sure everyone has been in the situation where they were invited to go eat and ordered to much and decided they would take it to go but then the next day realized that the food wasn't as appetizing since now its soggy which left them with no other choice than throwing it away. Well it seems as if only the United States does this since it was stated by Rubbish Please that Americans are only 5% of the world population but produce 30% of the waste globally.
Recycling and composing initiatives should be adopted and put into practice in communities throughout the United States. Recycling helps improve the enviorment we live in.By recycling we can make the enviorment a much neater place. In fact recycling can help save money.
One of the biggest reasons recycling should be taken so serious is because of its positive affect on the environment. Without recycling, so many goods that have potential to be repurposed are thrown into landfills. These landfills are piled up and affect the lives of countless wildlife. This quote by Allen Hershkowitz shows the enormity of the helpfulness of recycling. “Because using recycled materials reduces the need to extract, process, refine, and transport the timber, crude petroleum, ores, and so on that are necessary for virgin-based paper, plastics, glass, and metals, recycling lessens the toxic air emissions, effluents, and solid wastes that these manufacturing processes create” (Hershkowitz). Not having to put the weight of everyone’s trash trash on the world’s land and instead, repurposing it into something usable saves so many resources. Recycling not only leaves more room for things where the trash would have gone, but it also means that the people living here will get farther with the resources they have. The more that is taken from the earth the less there will be for those in the future, so saving and taking care of what is here is very important. The ones living in the world today are the people who are get to decide how the people of the generations to come are going to live. People should not want their kids living in a world of filth and pollution where no one cares about the world they are living on. An article by Omid Nodoushani discussed in depth the terrible amounts of pollution that is
Salvaging what trash we can, will assists in reducing garbage in all quarters of the earth. Actually, given the opportunity, most people would choose to recycle items. Providing more recycling bins would grant community members that very opportunities. According to the National Geography Organization, “55% of our trash goes to landfills, 33% recycled, and 12.5% gets incinerated.” If more communities similar to ours were to provide more recycling opportunities, the percentage of recycled garbage can be raised considerably. Furthermore, the
In the not too distant future, recycling will no longer be speculated and studied. It will simply be a fact of everyday life. In the last 20 years, recycling rates in the United States have risen from 13 percent to almost 24 percent. More than ever before, recycled waste is being kept out of our county dumps and incinerators and is being put to many different uses, creating new jobs and companies. Those who don’t agree that recycling has any benefit say that recycling costs more than dumping, falsely claiming that recycling is a complete waste of money and time. However, recycling today is often less expensive than dumping or burning, and is quickly becoming the preferred alternative. In this essay, I want to show how recycling isn’t just a business or environmental issue, it is something much larger that we must embrace and make a priority in our every day living. As stewards of this planet, we are obligated to make everyone cognizant of how important recycling is to our existence, and pass what we have learned on to future generations. If we can only begin to think differently about how we handle our every day waste, we can help ensure a clean environment well into the future.
The use of recycling has been introduced by many already noticing how fast our environment is deteriorating, Considering the fact, since recycling has been introduced, more and more people are taking this route to improve our society as a whole, but not everyone is recycling. When factories manufacture products using recycled materials, it requires less energy which leads to producing less gas emissions, decrease air pollution, and helps with the issue of climate change. As air pollution and exposure to air pollution increases, there are several health concerns that may be exposed to humans. If everyone makes the lifestyle change to recycle it could lead to major benefits for the world we live in. Some benefits would include the reduction for the need to extract new resources and by preserving raw materials (“Benefits of
Recycling is one of the most common ways to keep America clean. The recycling bins are one of the most recognizable logos across the world. People all across the U.S. have recycling bins, inside of their household. The sad thing is most people do not use them, they most of the time just throw stuff in the regular trash that could be recycled. For example, plastic, paper, cans, glass, cardboard, and even computer hardware (www.recycleacrossamerica.org). People don’t realize that they could be doing the world a big favor, just by recycling these everyday items.
Recycling has many benefits not only for the environment, but for the city as well. Financially, it will bring in millions for the city, as it did for Phoenix, Arizona. As the saying goes, "you have to spend money to make money." Everyone in the city does not have money to spend on recycling bins. In order to recycle properly, you must have the right bins for whatever it is you are recycling. Paper must go with paper in the blue bin, etc. If everything is not in order then you would be
Recycling is an important part of keeping this planet sustainable so our future generations can live on it. Many people are familiar with reprocessing paper and plastic materials, but there are countless others that can also be used. Our landfills are also filling up because too many people throw away these recyclable items that can easily be reused. Almost anyone has the ability to reduce, reuse, and recycle, but it is not always easily accessible which is why many people do not. Although there are some negatives to doing this, recycling is the best option we have when dealing with this problem. Too many non-decomposable items are being thrown away and it is harming the planet. The United States should make recycling mandatory in every state
I just want to thank you for what you have accomplished for the California School District these past years. I do have one concern though, and I am sure you have looked into it before, but I would like you to reconsider the situation. In past years, many students have wondered why we do not have a soccer team. Having a soccer team would open up so many different paths in the high school for students, staff, and even the community.
I believe that recycling is an amazing way to save our world from being destroyed down the line. When people recycle, it not only gives the companies the material to burn down the old used materials and use them over again, but it saves our enviorment from looking trashy or destroyed. Although, there are many ways in changing what item goes where, what should belong in a landfill, or what should be recycled, but this is not one of them.
The world would be much better if we would recycle the things that can be recycled. We can just use them for a different use, or the same it was before. Doing little things like picking up trash on the side of the road and wash it or something can be used for something different than just trash. There are many ways to recycle.
Many of animals in our environment are being harmed from our wastes, like turtles in the sea being trapped on beer can plastic rings. Recycling wastes should be a thing that everyone does to prevent many things like this from happening. There are people out there who recycle everything they can, and there are those who can’t even bother to look if they’re throwing their trash in the right bin. People all over the world constantly debate whether recycling is or is not beneficial to the environment. With the climate changing rapidly and natural disasters becoming worse, people should be more aware of the dangers that global warming can bring. Even a little help can do good for the environment; we should help by recycling more. Those who recycle help reduce pollution caused by waste, save energy and create jobs for those in need.
How many people in the United States recycle and what is considered recycling? Unfortunately, the percentage is low and not enough people in today’s society recycles, while recycling is defined as “to make something new from (something that has been used before)” (Merriam-Webster). With the percentages of recycling being low makes you wonder what is wrong with the people in today’s society. If you ask the people why they don’t recycle, they will give you plenty of excuses. “It doesn’t help in any way,” “I don’t have time,” and/or “It doesn’t benefit my lifestyle.” But, with all of these excuses, does it still give the people the justification not to recycle? Recycling has and will give immediate and long-term effects on our planet, which in the long run is what we want for the future. Recycling should be looked
People Need to Recycle In the United Sates, where the population is inflated every year. The amount of space for landfills decreases every day. The need for recycling should not be asked, it should just be done out of habit. Everyone in America needs to recycle, to help the lamdfill problem, help the environment, and help produce new products from recycled goods. In America there is about two-hundred and eight tons of residential and commercial trash generated a year, 4.3 pounds per person a day (Prichard 1A). This is an overwhelming amount of trashed produced yearly. When people recycle this number can be drastically cut. But many people do not practice and use
