Reflection of Business Communication
Business communication can be defined as the process of sharing information among business professionals, prospective customers, and affiliates who are associated with an organization. The essential skills of business communications are currently in demand and highly required for the workforce for the modern workforce. To be an effective communicator is to have the ability to respond with skill, confidence, and assertiveness and is pertinent to the quality and expertise business professionals considered for employment. Personally, learning how to exchange information appropriately using both verbal and nonverbal forms between the messenger and the receiver will increase my aptitude to overcome communication barriers. Communication has evolved over the years with smarter technological resources for networking globally such as social media, digital apps, virtual communications and the “cloud” a place to store all business information that is easily accessible in the palm of your hands, any time of the day. Although the evolution of communication has changed in the 21st century of business today, the most practical way to connect with others is in a social setting is by sharing human experiences through personal narratives which help to facilitate discussions.
An organization guided by Christian principles will build a structural solid foundation. As a follower of Christ, “communication” is [essentially] required to fulfill the responsibility of advocating Christianity. In a business setting the benefit of applying Christian values to provide guidance that will affirm the foundations of an organization. Communication is one of the most important parts of any relationship. Business relationships are no different. Having effective business communication or not having effective business communication can positively or negatively impact the success of an entire organization. In conclusion, managing communication in the organisation is important so as to perform basic functions. Managers should be effective communicators with high levels of fluency and professionalism and must be aware of the communication cycle to achieve team goals. Effective communication within the workplace like in the company’s technical office keeps the team involved in the delivery of customer focus which increases commitment to the organisation and make for a better relationship and understanding within the team. An effective communicator understands the communication process using the appropriate communication channel such as verbal, non-verbal or written communication. The correct use of the process helps to uncover barriers and determine effective preventive steps to avoid those barriers. Furthermore, within the communication cycle, it is essential to get regular feedback, which also helps evaluate and improve the communication process which in turn can be used as a basis to develop personal development plans, identify communication strength and weaknesses
Communication is one if not the most important aspect of any organization. If a leader is not a effective communicator employees will have a hard time understanding the mission or goal of the organization. This will result in high turnover and eventual failure of a business. There are several different types of communication I will be using the two that most reflect me and my experiences.
This report will investigate the communication used within the business ‘Zone’ investigated in the “Risking it All” episode which follows Brad Woolford on his risky business venture to open the busiest gym in the area with a lack of experience marketing and running a business. It will focus on both Verbal & non-verbal communication as well as an analysation of the website and will report on External & External stake holders, communication channels & strategies, digital communication and the possibility of a newly designed business card.
Business communication requires avenues through which leaders, management, and workers communicate. It also requires the communication process between an organization and its partners, as well as the customers. In business communication, it is vital for an organization to develop a communication channel that is not only efficient and effective, but one that relays positive messages. Positive messages are crucial in developing good relationships with the employees, business partners, and customers. Research shows that we actually comprehend a positive statement 30 to 40 percent faster than we do a negative statement, our mind literally has to unscramble negative messages to determine the meaning (Simoneaux &Stroud, 2014). There is a power in using positive messages, a strategy in building relationships and producing positive results. When using positive messaging it is beneficial to use the 5 S’s, and goodwill messaging. The 5 S’s are; selfless, specific, sincere, spontaneous, and short. This paper looks into the effects of positive messaging, with an emphasis on goodwill messages, and the 5 S’s.
On the other hand, the potential for misinterpretation is growing with the use of electronic devices. “Most business communication is now done via e-mails, text, instant messaging, intranets, blogs, websites and other technology-enabled media-sans body language”-opens the door for misconception (Tardanico). In this fast-paced world we live in, people are stressed, rushed, making deadlines and frequently do not take the time to consider the possible irritants of their writing. They just hit send and go.
Jordan Belfort is the notorious 1990’s stockbroker who saw himself earning fifty million dollars a year operating a penny stock boiler room from his Stratton Oakmont, Inc. brokerage firm. Corrupted by drugs, money, and sex he went from being an innocent twenty – two year old on the fringe of a new life to manipulating the system in his infamous “pump and dump” scheme. As a stock swindler, he would motivate his young brokers through insane presentations to rile them up as they defrauded investors with duplicitous stock sales. Toward the end of this debauchery tale he was convicted for securities fraud and money laundering for which he was sentenced to twenty – two months in prison as well as recompensing two – hundred million in restitution to any swindled stock buyers of his brokerage firm (A&E Networks Television). Though his lavish spending and berserk party lifestyle was consumed by excessive greed, he displayed both positive and negative aspects of business communications.

Communication process involves exchange of information between the sender and the receiver. The sender transmits a message while the receiver decodes the message sent (Innis, 1950). The key elements of myriad communication models are: the sender, the receiver, the message, the channel or the medium through which the message is conveyed, the context, noise/interference, and feedback (Dimbleby & Burton, 1998). Communication will be considered effective when the receiver fully understands the sender's message.

The premise of business communication is that the writer is always speaking with the audience in mind. She has to make the content relevant and usable to the reader or it is not effective.
