Rising sea level can be caused by a variety of factors and can have an effect or influence even more. Future changes in sea level may impact human populations around the world and many other aspects of life on Earth more than many initially thought. The U.S. coast of the Gulf of Mexico is on track to be one of the most impacted by further sea level rise and the outcome could be detrimental to the entire coastline.

Miami, Florida experiences a great amount of natural disasters; however, one of the largest disasters Miami fears is affects of global change. Rising global temperatures scares most environmentalist in the Miami area, because rising temperatures results in rising sea levels. So, what is the problem with rising sea levels? Well, environmental specialist has made predictions that the rising sea levels could submerge the beaches of Miami.

If the Earth gets warmer, there will be many countries affected by the rising sea levels. Temperature changes will affect the sea levels. If the average climate of the Earth changes by at least two degrees Celsius, the sea levels would rise. The coast lines would look a lot different. There are also many people near the coast lines that would get affected by the rising sea levels. In many countries, there are people that live by the ocean and would have to move due to the rising water. Sea levels are rising all over our planet although coastal regions suffer from it the most. Already, more than 90 coastal communities in the United States are battling chronic flooding, meaning the kind of flooding that’s so unmanageable it prompts people to move away. That number is expected to roughly double to more than 170 communities in less than 20 years. In the 1990s is when this problem was taken into consideration, although by this time sea levels had raised 20 cm over the years.

Sea level rise is a phenomena observed recently due to the effects of global warming on the state of water on our planet, the increase in temperature causes glaciers to melt and less water being trapped on land in the form of snow or ice, and the rising temperature causes the oceans themselves to expand, due to the decrease in density from the increased vibrations of the molecule causing each H2O molecule to take up more space.
