Ancient Greece and the Han China civilizations were both very similar in comparison. Each culture had its way of doing things. For instance, something you could look at is their beliefs and appearances were similar. While their availability to certain crops and economic opportunity were different. Life in ancient Greece was quite different for men and women, also it was a very big difference between the upper class and lower class. Men were expected to take part of the public life in their city. While in both civilization's women were expected to have a private life as wives and mothers. Greek City-states legally owned slaves so I’m guessing it was a little easier to be a slave in Han China. Also in Han China, the upper class tortured the classes that weren't wealthy. Slavery was a major feature of Greek culture. Wealthy families would have slaves or lowerclass men to carry out the household chores, to go shopping at the market and even to help bring up …show more content…

The men had slaves or others to tend to their land and fortune and only men of wealth have time for things such as government, war, literature, and philosophy. Most of the time, the lower class people were not citizens of Greece, so the best these people could have ever be a part of was the Middle social class. Lower class women had to work for a living, and they might have sold cloth that they had made, other items, or as retailers of food. In Han China, the lower class of citizens were mainly the craftsmen or artisans. They were responsible for making items like knives or swords as well as creating luxury goods for wealthy people. In the Han China, some women did have power, they worked hard for their families with little reward. While in Greece the woman was seen as just child birthers.
