Why are you pursuing the Performing Arts? In the next five years I will graduate from Berklee College of Music. From there, I plan to tour and also work as a studio musician, because not only will it allow me to add to my repertoire but it will make me a much more marketable and preferred musician. After solely touring for a few years, I would also like to return to college to obtain a degree in music education, providing me with the opportunity to return to teach at my high school, the Milton Hershey School.
I have been afforded a magnificent opportunity to attend Milton Hershey School (MHS). MHS is a private, residential school that takes in underprivileged children and provides them with housing, clothing, food, medical aid, and a quality education - all at no cost to families. Upon my return to MHS , I would show my students that with grit, determination and trust in God that all things are possible and that the sky's the limit.

That’s not the only reason, though. I want to because I want to do something with my life that I will enjoy and not dread. I want to be a well-defined musician, and I want to expand my horizons in musical knowledge that has been passed on to me in church. Being a well-defined musician is more than just getting behind a drum set and holding a tempo or getting behind an organ and playing some chords. Being a well defined musician teaches you maturation and knowing what is acceptable to play as an accompanist or a soloist. Church has always been my music school, especially since my mother was never able to afford drum lessons for me. Despite the fact I didn’t have lessons, my first time playing in church was an amazing success due from learning from Bernard
I am honored to be a nominee for the Governor's Honors Program (GHP). In being a part of GHP next summer, I have high hopes of learning more about my instrument and the places it can lead me. I have already decided that I plan on using my instrument and also my musical ability as part my career later on in life. My goal is to become a professional musician and a music therapist. I believe that this program can make that goal possible, as well as push me closer to reaching my full potential in many different aspects of life as well.
I would like to pursue counseling as my career and become a successful leader in the field. I have always had a passion to assist people in emotional distress. As a qualified professional in the counseling field, I would be able to identify their problems as well as offer them the most appropriate solutions that may help them deal with their situations. However, working as a professional counselor requires that I possess the relevant skills and knowledge that would enable me to offer quality services in which I think that I can obtain the skills at Capella University. As a

She intends to return to Los Angeles and record more in the future if possible, and understands that she is at somewhat of a crossroads in her life at this moment. She feels that both college and the pursuit of music need to be pursued now or never. That said, she does have a plan to integrate her studies in the future. The music business is difficult to crack into according to Delaney and she hopes to study business as a means to get a leg up on her non-business minded competitors in the industry. Furthermore, she also says that if recording does not work out a business-centered degree can apply in a variety of fields. She also dreams of potentially entering music from the business side rather than performance in the far future. For now, her sites are set on the completion of her final NorthWood Choir performances and a trip to Chicago the group is taking later this spring. Regardless of where she is or what avenue of music she is pursuing or will pursue, it is clear that music will remain an important part of Delaney’s life moving forward, and perhaps her story proves to remind us to take opportunities when they’re given and to always live our dreams no matter where our lives take
I am passionate about playing music, being successful academically, and lastly I am passionate about using my strengths to help others. I am a member of our very own Stockdale High School Marching Band, and I am also a member of the Stockdale Jazz Band. Music is like an escape for me. Whenever I am feeling down, I will play some music and instantly feel better. I want to show people how music can be an outlet for anyone. I am quite the perfectionist so it is very important to me that I remain academically successful in all my classes. I enjoy using my strengths in academics to help others achieve academic success.
They did not only just found the school, though, Milton has continued to support it even to this day by devoting some of the Hershey Chocolate Co.’s profits to the school. “Known today as the Milton Hershey School, the 10,000-acre institution provides housing and education for nearly 1,000 boys and girls whose family life has been disrupted,” (“Milton S. Hershey”). Milton has provided so much for so many young kids and will continue to support them even though he passed away over 50 years ago. Milton’s generosity while he was alive has enabled many young people to have a better, more stable start in life than he did. Even after death, his generosity continues to affect the lives of
Music is my life. Specifically, my vocal specialization is Tenor, which is the highest range a male voice can attain. I perform Classical repertoire written in the languages: English, French, German, Italian, and Spanish. I love singing in various languages, for it significantly enhances my ability to vocalize. Currently, I am only involved in Nevada Chamber Singers, but I will be participating in Nevada Chamber Opera this spring. With respect to my academics, I am a double major in Music and Marketing, and I will pursue getting my master’s degree in Arts Administration.
In sixth grade I joined the school band, the instrument I chose to play was Percussion. I fell in love being a percussionist. I especially love the drums, it’s like i can be free and let out all my emotions when I play. I get so in tune to my music that it’s like I travel to my own world with no problems. It was then that I knew I wanted to do this for the rest of my life. I then decided to look up music colleges and I found one that I feel I would benefit and learn from,The McNally Smith College Of Music. I want to go there not only to become a better drummer and musician, but I also want to become a producer. I want to produce albums for new bands like John Feldman and Bob Rock did for bands. My main goal is to either be a drummer for a successful band and inspire kids and teens that life isn’t easy, but you can get through it and help them with their problems. I would also like to be a successful producer and help bands send that same message. That’s another one of my passions, to me, playing and creating music is wonderful and fun.
The UK did not embark on its current goal-setting regime until after the Piper Alpha disaster occurred in 1988 and Lord Cullen suggested a new approach should be implemented, originally suggested by Roben, where responsibility transferred to the individual duty holder operator. The UK then embarked on creating goal-setting regulations that were regulated by the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) . General goals were set and it was left up to operators how to achieve them. This model has been viewed as relatively successful (if only for the reason that the UK hasn’t had any incidents lately) and when the Macondo incident occurred in the US, the UK were quick to reassure that under their goal-setting regime this could never occur . This model makes it compulsory for safety cases to be implemented and risk mitigation to be as low as reasonably practicable (ALARP) and appears to be a successful method.
Ever since my years in elementary school, I have had a love for music. This love developed in middle school where the notion of teaching music came to me. In high school, I knew the profession that was right for me was music education. After graduation, I began my journey to my calling by attending Shepherd University.
