1.1 Describe why team work is important in schools
Team work in schools is important as it’s a development not only for you but also for others. It helps to build a positive relationship with those that are within your team, as well as showing that there is support for one another within the structure. When there is team work, responsibilities and tasks are shared and are completed more effectively and also in a good time scale. Each member or person has their own skill and or expertise, communicating with them helps you to learn, build up your own knowledge and know your own responsibilities. Communication is an invaluable tool in team work; you can ask for advice or even give advice about certain subjects or topics, as well as

Their main objective is to create a safe educational environment for the children to learn in to help them develop in all areas. The setting offers a variety of activities for the children to take part in which will develop areas of their holistic development which will work with the children to reach the goals set for them.
1.3 Describe own role and responsibilities and those of others in the team
My own role and responsibilities as an assistant is to work under the instruction and guidance of the teaching and senior staff. Usually within the classroom with the class teacher, supporting learning for the pupils and providing general support to the teacher in the management of the pupils and the classroom.
My role as a teaching assistant is to take on tasks such as preparing the classroom for lessons and clearing up afterwards, which allow the teacher to concentrate on teaching. To support pupils with particular individual needs, sometimes my role is to work one to one, while others work in small groups or work with one of these groups. The teacher is not able to give every pupil individual attention, assistants provide essential support to the pupils and the lead teacher. My responsibilities also include:
- Supervising creative activities (e.g. when the children use scissors)
- giving support to pupils (individually or groups) who need to finish a particular task
- helping children to learn through play
-
Schools employ and have teaching assistants, to again, create the best possible learning environment for the pupils. As a teaching assistant I will work as part of a team working to make the pupils learning journey, a successful one. I will attend staff meetings and continue to develop my skills through in-house training and other relevant courses. I will maintain and contribute to school policies and procedures, and work in partnership with parents and carers on behalf of the school.
During the lesson the teaching assistant should assist and be a role model for the children and throughout the lesson the teaching assistant should do what the teacher asks and requires.
Although the class teacher is primarily responsible to plan, deliver and review all learning activities for the class, a teaching assistant can work alongside the teacher and make contributions that can improve the teachers plan, alter the delivery to make it more effective for pupil attainment and extend the teachers initial review. “Planning, teaching and evaluation follow a cycle which gives structure to the learning process” (Baker, B., Burnham, L., 2010) and is vital in my role as a teaching assistant. I aim to describe how I aide the teacher to plan and deliver lessons and how I give feedback to the teacher about individual pupils, in order for the teacher make improvements in her planning and to be able to target individual

Communication is an invaluable tool in team work; you can ask for advice or even give advice about certain subjects or topics, as well as sharing ideas on them too. When it comes to the pupils, communicating between each other is important as you will share information on the chid such as the child’s welfare, medical information or even their progress within the classroom. When adults are working effectively together and are working as part of a team, the children will see them as role models and will follow, copy and mimic what they see. Not only using it in and around school, but also when they are at home. To a parent this shows that the school are setting a good example to its pupils, which in turn will give the school respectively high standards and a great reputation.
The teacher may put some time aside to discuss each week’s activities with the teaching assistant, this would normally allow for any
Effective working relationships are the cornerstone for building and maintaining a successful team. Good team communication provides direction, vision and motivation to the members of the team. Team communication can be the sending or receiving of messages to or from management, between team members or from one team to another. Effective team communication increases team members' effectiveness and satisfaction because they are given the appropriate guidelines, tools and direction on how to accomplish tasks. The team needs to
In the role of a teaching assistant, you will be contributing to planning, delivery and reviewing of learning activities alongside teachers. When planning takes place there should be some opportunity to discuss and review pupils’ work with teachers. Panning, teaching and reviewing follow a cycle which gives structure to the learning process.
As a learning support assistant my duty of care in my role is that: - I am accountable to exercise authority in relation to the structure and maintenance of the classroom. An example of this is if I believe that there is something that is affecting the young people’s learning or support or if I do not believe policies and procedures are being followed then I am to raise this concern with my line manager or higher if need be. I am accountable for assessing any risks that may be taken by the young people. Most of this is completed my managers to risk assess any activities in which the young people are to participate in.
and adults. A teaching assistant has a degree of authority; it Is vital that this authority it not abused.
• Teaching children how to think for themselves in a fast-paced academic environment. • Looking after and supervising the control and proper use of teaching rooms, materials and resources. • Experience of dealing with challenging and disruptive pupils. • Marking pupil’s coursework and then providing constructive feedback to students.
Mission is to facilitate individual development for children through family support and a nurturing educational environment. Our focus is each child’s strengths, while promoting his or her social-emotional, cognitive, communicative and physical development.
As an assistant teacher one has to be prepared to face many challenges. It is our responsibility to work along the lead teacher guarantee and enhance the learning experience of our students. But it is also equally important in working with parents to ensure the continuation at home of what is being taught in the classroom.
Support Staff Roles - School support staff includes the Teaching Assistants who work directly under the Teacher’s direction, supporting their day-to-day work in the classroom. They help the teacher with everyday planning and preparation, support learning activities, report any problems or queries, and give feedback to the teacher. Under the teacher’s guidance they may also run teaching sessions and assess children’s work. Student support staff attend to children while they are outside of the classroom, in the playground. School administrators give secretarial support to the whole school, while the technical staff makes sure that the IT equipment and other teaching resources are in adequate condition for use in education. The site staff consists
To sum it up, I highly believe that the high school teachers should put their emphasis on the enhancing team working and communicating capabilities in their students. Not only can high-school teachers interactive modern approaches can boost the skill of team working in their students, but also they can train them how to face the world of massive communications and technologies.
The post of an assistant teacher is demanding and dynamic because one does not have to interact with only one group of people, but requires establishing a coherent relationship with various groups such as teachers, parents, children and other workers in an institution. It corresponds with the working code that is being offered by our organisation, a factual career hub for the employee. Equally, our organisation seeks not only offers jobs but seeks to establish a candid career path for all employees (Busacca & Rehfuss, 2016). As such, all measures are put in place to ensure that whoever is validated and accredited to work has all the requirement and qualifications stipulated as per the job code of ethics. G displays an understanding of learners, passion and energy required for an assistant teacher and the emerging of a vacant in the same position makes G a suitable candidate for the role.
