Within the last five years, student portfolios have begun to go electronic. To talk about this shift in portfolios, we need to consider many questions. What do we mean by the expression electronic portfolio? Is it simply a digitized version of the more familiar print portfolio? Or is it something completely different? Why are students, school, and institutions interested in electronic portfolios? After a review of six critical problems surrounding electronic portfolios, the researcher investigated foreign …show more content…
In yet another class, an undergraduate class on research methods in psychology, students open their portfolio with a reflective synthesis of enclosed materials as well as a statement of the materials' relevance to their development of an independent research project. Other exhibits contain a statement of progress on the independent project, a write-up of one experiment, a peer review of that write-up, and other materials (homework assignments and summaries of class readings, for example) chosen by the student. As these examples suggest, classroom portfolios can vary considerably, especially when we think about them along four parameters or dimensions: (1) Type and level of class (in general education or in the major, for example). (2) Purpose of the portfolio. (3) Audience for the portfolio. (4) Criteria for assessment. Regardless of the diversity of portfolio models, however, they all make the same request that students assume responsibility for documenting and interpreting their own learning. This responsibility extends through col-lection, selection, and reflection. Students archive all their work - homework, class projects, journals, lab reports, spreadsheets, notes for presentations, drafts of assignments, peer review notes, and so on. At a designated time - sometimes at midterm, often at the end of a term - students select from this
When I starting working on this portfolio I knew it would show the growth and development of the child over the last few weeks. It would show how far they have come and how much they have learned while in my care. There is nothing more rewarding to see and witness development in a child while in your care. This shows you are teaching the child like you are supposed to and they are learning what you are teaching them on a daily
A portfolio is an organized, purposeful compilation of evidence documenting a child’s development and learning over time (McAfee, Leong, & Bodrova, 2016, p. 98). I thin k that implementing the Portfolio Plan would definitely contribute to the knowledge that I have already learned from my observation of Camden. After interviewing her mother and observing her, she seems to already be on a good path in her development and learning. I believe that some of the things that I have planned out on the Portfolio Plan would be very beneficial for her.
I completed portfolio #6 by determining and using effective approaches as well as rhetorical strategies when reading and writing. For example, I use rhetorical strategies when I had to read the e-text book. When I read, the class contract I had to determine what I had to do to pass the class. Lastly I had to use effective approaches when writing notes and when I used them to complete an essay.

These will be placed into the binder every Friday or as soon as they are given back to the student. Each page mentioned above has their own importance to the student’s growth. Assessments should be added at the beginning, middle, and end of the year. The educator will be able to see the exact progress the student has made throughout the year.
For this assignment, I will be explaining how my portfolio, meets my target audience and purpose.
This portfolio has show my progress in many different ways. The biggest way is my rhetorical knowledge has been increased because of the sources we have had to read especially in this last unit when we had to use the UW database. The scholarly articles and journals pushed my reading and analyzing to the limit, but it really helped me for the future. Because of my ability to analyze the sources well, it has helped me increase my writing, because I have been able to really find good credible quotes to use within my work.

“Create your own visual style... let it be unique for yourself and yet identifiable for others” Orson Welles. E-portfolios are where students can write about your accomplishments, reflections, their learning process and many more information about themselves. E-portfolio is an example of a visual argument. A visual argument is a graphic representation of a written argument, which served as a compact visual depiction of their thesis. Each e-portfolio is different, none are the same because they are made and designed by different students. Each student’s creativity and outline is different, they all still contain color, an outline and images. An e-portfolio can be a place where anyone can express himself or herself in any kind away, through images, the outline, and creativity in general. The E-portfolio is an effective visual argument, due to the use of rhetorical elements, use of images, outline to capture the reader’s attention in the e-portfolio

For healthcare professionals it is important to have a portfolio and it is very important to keep it updated. Portfolios can be used for annual appraisals with an employer or can be used in preparation for a new job (Jasper, Elliot, & Koubel, 2011). In addition to the in-class writing above, I have also chose two other major essays to conclude with my final portfolio. For the first essay, I chose Essay 2, the group field research paper. All students were placed in groups of five of who you sat with and from there, that group would be your permanent group for the rest of the semester. Within these permanent groups, we did multiple editing for each other’s papers as well as give advice and various ideas help to each individual out when we needed
A project portfolio is a group of projects that share and compete for the same resources and are carried out under the sponsorship or management of an organization (Archer & Ghasemzadeh, 1999a, 1999b). Turner and Müller (2003, p. 7) defined a portfolio as “an organization (temporary or permanent) where projects are managed together to coordinate interfaces, prioritize resources between projects, and thereby
