Climate change happens when long term weather patterns are refined. It can be identified in the changes of temperature, winds, precipitation, and other forms of natural processes. This can occur through many different factors, one being through human activity. Global warming is one of the main scales used to measure climate change. For life to be able to continue on Earth, the sun is required. Solar radiation is reflected back into space, however, small amounts of radiation get trapped in the Earth’s atmosphere, causing a rise of temperature. The atmosphere is composed of delicate gases, the most important gas being Carbon Dioxide. In Canada, the average annual temperature increases by 1.6oC, which is a higher warming rate when compared to other regions of the world. Canada’s far northern region has shown the strongest warming trends. At the rate Climate Change is affecting Canada, there will be huge amounts of precipitation, and risks of other natural disasters, such as heat waves, flooding, forest fires, and dry spells. As Canada is a maritime nation, the country will be affected by oceanic environments. There will also be reductions in the Arctic sea ice cover, resulting in extreme sea levels, ice conditions, and wave regimes (Government of Canada- Impacts of Climate Change, 2015). Canada’s forests will be affected in many complex ways, affects varying from dramatic, to subtle. Rapid climate change will affect the rate trees grow ate, mortality rates, and the distribution of tree species. Climate change is a real issue that is currently impacting every single region of the world. The world is a very large place with many different regions. Every region in the world is experiencing unique effects of climate change but we are all experiencing some form of it, nonetheless. First, Alberta is impacted by climate change due to increasing temperatures. One of the problems that global warming is bringing to Canada is the raising of water levels. For example, many provinces in Canada will go “underwater” at some point. Furthermore, it has been calculated that Greenland is now melting at a rate of 9 percent per decade, and the Arctic ice thickness has decreased 40 percent since 1960. Accordingly, experts predicted that water levels could rise up to 10 to 23 inches by 2100. Still, it appears that sea levels have been rising quicker than the range expected, so it’s likely that water levels will rise faster than predicted.

The weather of the 3 cities over the past four days shows that Vancouver has the highest temps which are: 9°C, 7°C, 4°C, and 8°C, there were 4 days with no precipitation. Vancouver has such warm temperatures because it has the Pacific Ocean nearby that pushes cold air and water heats slow, and the lack of precipitation is caused by the fact that the its too cold for water vapor to appear but no too cold for snow. Toronto has the second warmest temperatures which are: 8.6°C, -16°C, 10°C, and -10°C, in Toronto there were 3 days without precipitation but one day had drifting snow, the lack of precipitation is cause by the cold temps and not enough heat for the water cycle, it’s also due to the low latitudes and Lake Ontario keeps a slight amount of heat. Saskatoon was the coldest of the three with temps of: -20.4°C, -18°C, -17°C, and -21° C there were 3 days with no precipitation but a day with drifting snow.
It has been observed through various researches that in the last century, average temperatures across the globe increased by over 1.3°F with an increase of more than two times in the Arctic.
