What is climate change exactly? Climate change happens when long-term weather problems occur. For example: global warming can be a part of climate change because the weather changes and the heat increase very slowly. Climate change is becoming a huge problem and is affecting the world's ecosystems and communities. The world could become one huge oven or it won't. Nobody knows.

The clean-up bill came to $1.9 billion — the single most costly disaster in Canadian history — and 90 per cent of it was on the federal tab because Canadians cannot buy flood insurance”(Moore,2015.) As you can see the impacts of climate change leave the government with having to pay massive amounts money when it could be used for other things like creating jobs but that money is often now lost. Climate change is a real issue that is currently impacting every single region of the world. The world is a very large place with many different regions. Every region in the world is experiencing unique effects of climate change but we are all experiencing some form of it, nonetheless. The global average temperature has risen 0.74 degrees celius over the past 100 years (Climate). We all contribute to the effects of climate change and we are all responsible for helping reverse it. First, Alberta is impacted by climate change due to increasing temperatures. Increasing temperatures can be caused by the greenhouse effect, which traps the sun’s heat in the lower parts of the atmosphere, causing global temperatures to rise. The main emissions which can lead to the greenhouse effect are Carbon dioxide, Methane, and Nitrous oxide. Too much of these compounds can lead to an excess amount of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere, which can potentially change the ecosystem in Alberta. With Canada being a country that relies heavily on natural resources throughout the continents it poses a great threat to level of severity this may impact. Therefore, with the rising levels of average air temperature as well as ocean causing large mounts of melting of ice, thus increasing sea levels. One of the problems that global warming is bringing to Canada is the raising of water levels. For example, many provinces in Canada will go “underwater” at some point. Furthermore, it has been calculated that Greenland is now melting at a rate of 9 percent per decade, and the Arctic ice thickness has decreased 40 percent since 1960. Accordingly, experts predicted that water levels could rise up to 10 to 23 inches by 2100. Still, it appears that sea levels have been rising quicker than the range expected, so it’s likely that water levels will rise faster than predicted.

The weather of the 3 cities over the past four days shows that Vancouver has the highest temps which are: 9°C, 7°C, 4°C, and 8°C, there were 4 days with no precipitation. Vancouver has such warm temperatures because it has the Pacific Ocean nearby that pushes cold air and water heats slow, and the lack of precipitation is caused by the fact that the its too cold for water vapor to appear but no too cold for snow. Toronto has the second warmest temperatures which are: 8.6°C, -16°C, 10°C, and -10°C, in Toronto there were 3 days without precipitation but one day had drifting snow, the lack of precipitation is cause by the cold temps and not enough heat for the water cycle, it’s also due to the low latitudes and Lake Ontario keeps a slight amount of heat. Saskatoon was the coldest of the three with temps of: -20.4°C, -18°C, -17°C, and -21° C there were 3 days with no precipitation but a day with drifting snow.
