Good thinking could be viewed as empowering for individuals and society. Perhaps most importantly in today's information age, thinking skills are viewed as crucial for educated persons to cope with a rapidly changing world. Many educators believe that specific knowledge will not be as important to tomorrow's workers and citizens as the ability to learn and make sense of new information (Gough, D., 1991). School administrators have to recognize that teaching core subjects alone is not sufficient to equip students for the knowledge economy. To be prepared for the demands of the knowledge economy, students “need to know how to use their knowledge and skills, applying knowledge to new situations, analyzing information, comprehending new ideas, communicating, collaborating, solving problems, and making decisions.” One important skill students need to have is ‘thinking skills’ (Salpeter, J., 2003). Human resource management is one of the support activities which though not directly involved in production will increase effectiveness and efficiency in the creation of goods and services.
