As the majority of people grow older we begin to see that life is unfair in so many ways. We see that some people have it easier financially while some have it hard, others are born athletic and others aren’t, and some find love early and or easily while some will never find it. When you think about what life is truly about you’ll come to realize the grim truth of life and its true purpose. All in all life is made unfair to force people to change and the changes we choice to make effect so much of the future that we could never begin to comprehend.
In life most people fight for the love that they want. Soldiers die for their love for the countries they come from, criminals kill for the love of their families, and even serial killers kill just for the love of killing. But what about the people in this world that never had any love those of us that love nothing not even ourselves
In my life I have loved and lost they say that it is better to have loved and lost than to never have loved at all, but that’s a load of crap. Loving and losing is the most painful thing ever. It feels like someone takes you heart feeds it then when it gets full they take a pin and pop it then step on the pieces. People that say having known love is better than never knowing it have never actually lost it. In life love3 is only temporary and some of the smarter people come to realize there is no point to temporary happiness and in the world we live in these days there is no true happiness because
Human beings have always struggled to have a balance in all the different areas of their life. The book The Art of Fielding, Chad Harbach besides exploring the life of some of the members of the Westish baseball team, he also tells the story of some other characters off the field; Guert Affenlight is one of those characters. Throughout the book, readers can notice the changes Affenlight goes through in order to explore aspects of his life he did not know. Harbach starts telling the story of how Affenlight focused all his energy on his professional life, leaving aside his personal life. At the of age of sixty, this character had never experienced love and had never enjoyed a relationship with someone. The
The short story/debate, “Life Isn’t Fair - Deal With It” by Mike Myatt, is about his opinion on why life isn’t fair, what fair is, and if life itself should be fair or not. Mike Myatt explains that the term “Fairness” is a subjective idea and is not a natural characteristic of life. So, in this debate, Mike Myatt tells us about why people think the way they do when it comes to fairness. Some people have their own choices and it is largely based on the choices they assemble, and the attitudes that they start to adopt. Some of those choices that are being made come with dreadful and awful consequences. He also says how kids start to blame their problems on their parents, their teachers, their pastors, their government, or their society. On that occasion, he gives eleven rules of life and all at once explains that life is not fair and we all should try and pull through at whatever life throws at us, because in the end it is the choices we decided to make. Whether those were acceptable choices or not, we can’t not blame others for our mistakes.
Life isn’t fair, but over these years we’ve dealt with so many things that lead us to get used to it. Everyone deals with pain and regret, and some people never get happiness in return. Some people have the happiest lives, yet never have to deal with what’s going on in the outside of their perfection. It seems as though the heartache in this world will cease to be equal. The nicest and kindest people can be put through hell, as if they are getting punished for something they never did; yet the virtue of the rest can live without pain. Life will never have the scale weighed to equal because life isn’t, and never will be fair.
The quote by Alfred Lord Tennyson “‘tis better to have loved and lost than to have never have loved at all.” is very powerful and very true. From the story How Much Land Does a Man Need? by Leo Tolstoy provides evidence of the truth of this quote and is also presented in the story The Fault in Our Stars by John Green. These two stories highlight the life lessons of loving something and losing it compared to not having had it at all. This quote can also be put into real life because everyone needs to make a few mistakes in order to learn and losing something allows for life lessons as well. Tennyson’s quote can be applied to a lot of things in life, like literature and even reality.
When people tell you that life isn’t fair they’re not kidding. Sometimes when you think that you’ve done enough and you’ve worked your butt off things still don’t fall your way. Everyone goes through a dry spell it, just depends on how you respond to it.
Although life is unfair, it can be worthwhile by surrounding one’s self with friends and family. In Swear to Howdy, it is unfair that Joey’s father is abusive, but Joey has Rusty making life worthwhile. Jared, in Shadow Club, finds it’s unfair that he works tough and is still the second best runner in school, has Cheryl, Randall and even the rest of the Shadow Club. Keevan, in the Smallest Dragonboy, has Heth even though Keevan is meager and often called a babe. Jonas, who has no freedom of choice (unfair), has Asher, Fiona and the Giver in The Giver. Finally, in Mother to Son, the mother, who has an unfair life because her life “ain’t no crystal stair”, has her son. These characters have unfair lives/circumstances, but still generate
The short story that I read, Blackberries in June by Ron Rash, opened my eyes to let me see that life can be unfair and cruel and that life is full of disappointments. An example of this idea would be when Charlton had to quit high school and work full time for his father because his father was in an accident which resulted in a shattered hand (Rash 207). Another example of this idea that life can be unfair is by looking into Linda’s past, she was not thirty years old and had to take care of her children. Her husband, Charlton, pays her in-law by a percentage of profit instead of an hourly wage which could have been used to help her through the tough financial situation that she and the rest of her family are in (Rash 210). The idea that life
In order to begin, one needs to clarify that life is not always fair and that is not how the world works. As children, we were raised with beliefs that equality exists, everyone is equal and fair, and to treat others how you want to be
Throughout my entire life I have been told that life is not fair. I have been told that some people have the luxury of living a healthy and successful life, while others must endure the struggles of being poor, sick, or unhappy. This concept was nearly impossible for me to grasp at a young age. As far as I knew, everyone lived the safe, fun, and exciting life that I had been accustomed to. It was not until my father and I were given the opportunity feeding the homeless citizens of Detroit that I was able to amply understand the extent of unfairness that accompanies life.
The purpose of Life Not Fair is to show people that life isn’t going to be fair, no matter how much you want it to be. The Earth was not meant to be fair. People were not meant to be searching for the meaning of fairness. When you start to look for fairness you may end staying on that path for the rest of your life, never really understanding life because you were too busy searching for something that wasn’t there. People must face reality that life isn’t going to be fair! Whether you think it’s because you came from a poor area or a rich area. Everyone has their difficult times, btu it’s your choice to see if you can rise above it and learn from it.
As humans, most people’s idea of fairness is self-interest. It’s fair when it happens to someone else, but when something happens to them, the world sucks and “life isn’t fair”. Well, that’s because it isn’t fair. The modern person is hard working and accomplishes and reaches for everything they want in life, because life isn’t fair and it’s a competition. For example, Jay Gatsby from The Great Gatsby, (while it may have been illegal) made his money selling liquor. It may have been wrong, but
In the story "The Love Potion" the author portrayals love by the characters having a better time when their lover is around like in line 5 Adina says " If only Nemorino was here I would enjoy my triumph so much more" meaning she loves him. Also it shows that each lover is protective of eachother like in line 7 Adina says "Foolish girl! Why else would I care?" after people were joking around about here love for him. But Nemorino used a potion of love to get girls to love him and his goal was to find his true love but the potion wasnt needed because Adina loved him from the start so he accomplished his goal but the potions wernt the key it was just finding his true love. also prof that he used a love potions was when Nemorino said in line
“Love is complex: considered simply in itself, it is neither honorable nor a disgrace-its character depends entirely on the behavior it gives rise to,” (Plato 183d). There are two different types of love that Pausanius refers to, which are the common and heavenly love. The common love is based on your love for someone for their body, sex or beauty making it physical love and desire for a person. Heavenly love is love for the mind such as your intelligence and strength, someone you can benefit from making one more wise. Any love that is encountered has a purpose whether is it the love between a mother and daughter or the love between a husband and wife. In the end, all love leads and is directed to virtue and improves the loved ones.
"In a perfect world, when he's with her, he would be wishing he was with me; when he looked at her, he would be looking at me; when he smiled at her, his smile would be for me; when he thought about someone, he would be thinking about me. In a perfect world, he would realize that I'm the one he was supposed to be with & I would still be standing here waiting for him still when he finally knows this. But this isn't a perfect world and people do get hurt. Because how can you give your dreams to someone else, yet share your dreams with me? Sometimes the truest love is the love that can never be"
present and one of those is the theme of love. Philia, Eros, and Agape are the three types of love present in the play and are what represent the theme of love. These three types of love, Philia, Eros, and Agape are expressed by the different characters in the play. The expression of the theme of love in the play is not just there by accident; William Shakespeare put it in this comedic and romantic play with a purpose.
