The main reason the American Revolution was caused was because the tax of the colonists by the British, in which led the end of the seven-year war of the French and Indian. This issue was more engaged in the North more than the South because of their politician differences. The people that were business leaders, politicians, etc, did not like the situation that was going on they had their particular economy and political interests in enlightenment just to get people the big masses, the war was freedom and release from tyranny. The British people were looking at it as the colonies were not paying what they were suppose to, also maintain the empire. They were treating the American to control them not as partners in their …show more content…
Everything built up and eventually that was going to happen. Also, Americans did not want to go to war, they wanted England to go back to their expedient disregard. They did mind their own business, also they liked the protection of England. What they did not agree to was the taxes and the unsupportable acts that they did. Even though the revolution did start not everyone supported it. The Sons of Liberty were a secret group. They did start the Boston Tea Party; the sons threw the tea into the Boston Harbor. They did that because they refused the taxes that the British people gave to them. The sons of the Liberty liked to start nonsense with their brainwashing information which caused an uproar to a lot of things as well. They wanted to be free of Britain because they did not think that these taxes were fair. There also was a protest to the Stamp Act as well. The reason they did that was because the British were making people pay taxes on their paper that they used. Were they wrong for taking a stand and doing what they did? Some people might think yes, and some might say no. I would say that they obviously were being taxed on nonsense things because the British Empire was being extremely unfair. The Declaration of Independence was written because the thirteen colonies wanted to be Independent from Great Britain. They also put charges against the crown Parliament for wrong misbehavior against the colonists. This
The American Revolution had many more causes than the French Revolution. Both Revolutions were generally caused by taxation without representation; meaning the colonist and the third estate did not have a voice of opinion in these new laws. The stamp act and smuggling passed parliament, and those laws were placed on the colonist. Everything was being taxed; that money paying off the debt of the French and Indian War, also being sent to England. King Louis XVI raised the third estates taxes to pay off the debt of wars and deficit spending. Both the third estates and the colonist didn't have a say in the new laws or work they were now having to follow. The French and the Americans had a rebellion that lead them into the revolution. The colonist had the Boston tea party where the colonist dressed as Native Americans to board ship that help the highly
There was no one event that started the American Revolution. This paper will address the problems that lead to the start to the American Revolution. The colonists believed that they should live democratically. Britain felt that they owned the American colonies and they could use their resources in any way that they wished. The colonists did not want to live being ruled by another country. The major events that led to the American Revolution were the French and Indian War, Stamp Act, Boston Massacre, Boston Tea Party and Lexington Concord.
The American Revolutionary War was caused by the political disagreements between Great Britain and the American colonies. Most of the Americans initially didn’t want to completely separate from England but wanted to regain the rights that Parliament had taken away from them. England made war unavoidable with its unwillingness to negotiate, heavy taxation of the colonists that violated their rights, and strict trading policies.
There were many causes of the American Revolution, it was a series of events, that finally made war.In 1772 Governor Thomas Hutchinson of Massachusetts reported that he and the royal judges would be paid directly by London, and bypassing the colonial legislature. In late 1772,Samuel Adams set about
The American Revolution was evolutionary. It didn’t just start from one event, it progressed to a point where change was needed. During the French and Indian War England claimed they were protecting the colonists but they were only using them for profit and for people to fight the war for them. Beforehand there were many acts that were proposed which made the colonies generally upset. These acts not only banned the colonists from trading with other countries but it also affected their economy drastically. Tobacco was a crop in Virginia that decreased profit drastically after the acts were passed. The colonists entire lives in virginia depended on that tobacco crop and it was taken away. Each unfair law affected the colonists differently. Besides
What caused the American Revolution? The colonists were not fight for separation from Britain yet. However they were fighting for their rights as citizens. Three of the reasons for their actions were: the Stamp Act, violations of basic rights, and the Intolerable Acts. These events led to the American Revolution.
The American Revolution was fought between Britain. The main reason of this event was Great Britain spent more money on the French and Indian War. Great Britain did this by wanting the colonies to help pay the debt back.
The Declaration of Independence was written by the colonists to let the British know which rights they had and allowed them to have independence similar to children who vandalize on a playground and write words that express them.
The irregular and disorganized British rule of the American colonies in the previous years led to the outbreak of the Revolutionary War. Most Americans did not originally want to separate from mother England. They wanted to stay loyal to the crown. England’s unwillingness to compromise, mismanagement of the colonies, heavy taxation of the colonists that violated their rights, the distractions of foreign affairs and politics in England and the strict trading policies that England tried to enforce together made the revolution inevitable. The British were definitely expected to win the dispute because they significantly over powered the Colonists in most areas. They had more money, weapons, people, etc. However the American’s prevailed with
The U.S. revolution was caused by many different problems piling up and eventually exploding into a war that led to independence. The colonists were not interested in independence, at first, in fact a large amount were loyalists who simply wanted the same rights as the common British citizen. The main problem was that the colonists wanted to be represented in parliament and treated as complete British citizens; that led to the revolution.
The major factor for the cause of the American Revolution was the ignorance of the British. The irritated colonists were hostile towards the ‘mother country’ of Great Britain as it tried to reconcile with them. Just as a neglected child would have bitter resentment towards its parent once the parent sought action, so were the American colonists. The cause of the American Revolution began when Great Britain stopped paying attention to the colonies, and absorbed into its own affairs, politely ‘ignoring’ the colonies it started. Everything else that triggered the minds of these revolutionaries was the effect caused by Britain’s salutary neglect of the American colonies. When the early settlers came to the newly discovered continent of
There were many reasons for which the Declaration of Independence was written. Although each of them was focused on the liberty and freedom from the British. The setting where the declaration of independence was written was the United States on July 4, 1976. Many events lead to why the document was written. The Colonist were tired of being run over. They were also tired of being slaves to a country who did not see things their way. According to the Declaring independence film on demand it said that the “document says that if the government isn 't treating you the way you think it should, and if you suffer this mistreatment over a period of time, you 've got the right to rise up and destroy that government, to change it ( Declaring)”. The
The American Revolution was a battle that was fought between countries across the globe. Many countries were involved in this fight. Spain, France, Mysore, Holland, and the United States fought against Great Britain. There were multiple factors that lead to this Revolution. Beginning with the United States in 1764 the American Sugar Act and Stamp Act was having restrictions placed on it from England’s Congress. Then, in 1774 Parliament was passing laws and placing taxes upon the colonists which they did not agree with. Relationships between Holland and England had deteriorated due to disagreements with the Dutch trading with rebels. England got a secret treaty and used it to declare war on the Netherlands. During this time Holland and
Numerous reasons went into why the Declaration of Independence was written, from the tyranny of the British to the aspirations of the Americans. Various causes inspired the composing of the Declaration, however, the main objective of the colonists was the same, the desire to be free from the English rulers. Both the intellectuals in the cities and the toiling farmers in the country wished the same. Northern colonies and southern colonies agreed that the despotic British no longer should regulate the Americas.
In 1606, England’s King James I decided to send explorers to what is now America. Food was scarce in Great Britain and the Spaniards had already set sail. This gave Britain reasons to try to expand their empire into new territories. Wanting to strengthen England, the Virginian Company tried to not only gain territory but, also give work to struggling men and get better access to products that they were having to import. Greed would only lead to their downfall. The American Revolution started in 1775. It was a result of built-up conflict between the colonies in North America and Great Britain. But why was there unresolved conflict? The result cannot be pinned on only one cause but, a series of events that led to Americans wanting ultimate freedom. The colonies were getting tired of being ruled by the British especially when it came to money. Economic reasons were the catalyst that started the rebellion. They did not want to pay taxes to a King who was neglecting them. And they were also disgruntled with policies regarding merchants such as, the Navigation Acts and wanted to see a change. The colonists were tired of being taxed, especially without representation. These were major disagreements between policy-makers in Great Britain and the American colonists that would make the American Revolution inevitable.
