The only green America has ever really cared about is cold hard cash. If we look at the history of the United States it was a country that started out with little more than rural land that people would seek to protect to ensure a happy life. After a century of independence there began an exposition where “machinery was the focus” (Divine, Breen and Fredrickson) setting off the United States into a feverous need for industrial development and economic growth. We added a railroad as the nations first big business and industrial empires were built on steel and oil and soon Henry Ford joined the picture with the mass production of cars in factories. What the world had begun creating was what they believed to the foundation of a more leisure filled …show more content…
The Green party has become imperative for the 21st century yet without it being a major political party people rather choose the “less of two evils” and instead become mad at the green party when it begins to take away votes for the Democratic Party an idea that grew from Nader’s candidacy which allowed George W. Bush to take the win “Social movements die in the Democratic Party but they grow in dependent, alternative parties” (TruDeau). Like many people who believe in the Green Party or who simply care about the environment or are increasingly becoming more aware of the harm we are doing to the earth it is becoming clear that the world needs to stray away from the duopoly system if we want to aim for those changes to be made. As small as they may seem now third-party candidates are imposing a threat to Democrat and Republicans and are being pushed back into corners. However I believe there will come a point where gaining money and economical stimulation will no longer be priority. The world is slowly running out of its natural resources and we are creating problems that are on the verge of causing the death of the planet and everyone in it. The world needs help but many live under the mentality that it wont happen in our lifetime but it is very real and we cannot live under the assumption that it will not happen and simply leave our children to fight to stay alive. We cannot
Everybody knows all about Donald Trump and Hillary Clinton at this point, but with these two candidates failing to satisfy the American people, more citizens are beginning to look towards using their votes for other candidates, rather than supporting the lesser of two evils. With so many people losing faith in both their candidates and their political parties, it is important that the public know all about the two leading third party candidates, namely Jill Stein of the Green Party and Gary Johnson of the Libertarian Party. They experience reasonable success considering their lack of media exposure and mainstream appeal, and this can be attributed to their relevant and well thought out platforms. Stein and Johnson share a fair amount of common
Sometimes, voting for a third-party candidate can be seen as “worse than wasted,” such as in the 2000 election (Disch 2002). In winning 2.7 percent of the vote, Ralph Nader, the Green Party candidate drew away votes from Al Gore, which may have lost Gore the election, and didn’t even achieve the 5 percent needed for public financing (Disch 2002). The election of 2000 showed the biggest problems of voting for a third-party candidate. Green voters gained nothing from voting for Ralph Nader, and allowed a party even further away from their own preferences to gain power.
Greenpeace started in 1969 when a group of Vancouver -area environmentalists gathered in establishing the “Don’t Make a Wave Committee” (Rex Weyler, 2004). “This committee was founded in response by the frustrated Sierra Club members, because the organization they felt an affinity with, refused to protest against nuclear weapons testing” (Lee, 1995: 8).
The Founding Fathers believed that political parties were dangerous and a threat to a popular republican government. Despite the foreboding of the Founders, parties formed and are still around to this day. I agree with the statement that “parties make the process work, clarify issues, and present clear alternatives. And when the parties are in a weakened state, it is bad for the country.” I think in their most basic form, parties do play a vital role in our government, but I understand why the Founders were hesitant about them.
In order to avoid losing voters to third parties, the two major parties are often forced to adopt positions championed by third parties. To fully comprehend why third parties exist, it is important to first be able to identify the numerous challenges they face in order to gain any sense of credibility.
“It is a natural evolution of our mass consciousness to begin to see third parties as a viable option; it is reflected in the corrupt and broken two-party system.” Michelle Augello-Page, an author and writer, uses this quote to speak to the frustration Americans feel about the two-party political system. Since the 1850’s, the Democrats and Republicans have received the majority of the popular vote, while third party candidates struggle election after election (Schechter). The two major party candidates don’t always speak to the issues many Americans want to be addressed. Therefore, Americans must consider voting for third party candidates to ensure democracy works for everyone.
Now in its fourth decade, the Green Party founded with the goal of the formation of a Green political organization in the USA when progressive politics in the United States were fighting for survival. The Green Party's core beliefs consist of environmentalism, nonviolence, social justice, participatory grassroots democracy, feminism, LGBT rights, and anti-racism. They also attempt to create new opportunities for people to serve their community. The Green Party does not appear on ballots in all states, only in 2012 the Green Party only appeared on the ballot in thirty-seven
The Republicans have selected me, Arthur Chester, to be Garfield’s running mate. The Republican Party has favored Civil Service and I have decided to take part in this. In fact, I have considered not being nominated for a second term; in order to satisfy the American public. However, I know that a few may love me for this and others may not, but I am not just doing this for myself, but for the people.
A few of the economic ideals are Environmentalism, Fair Trade, and Human Rights. Green Party members have a wide variety of philosophical ideologies: Grassroots Democracy, Social Justice & Equal Opportunity, Ecological Wisdom, Decentralization, Community Based Economics & Economic Justice, Feminism & Gender Equality, Personal & Global Responsibility, and Future Focus & Sustainability. Unlike the other dominant, popular political parties, Democrat and Republican, the Green Party has not been around as long. One of the most impressive settings about the Green Party is that they managed to become the third most popular political party since its creation in 2001. Now, the Green Party is called the Green Party for its intensive belief and struggle to convert to renewable energy sources such as low-cost wind and solar
immigrants of being drug dealers, rapists, murderers, and criminals overall. “There is a very real criminal component utilizing the dislocations caused by massive immigration to cover crimes of every variety, from drug trafficking to murder. This does not [account] for irresponsible driving habits that also take a toll of American citizens. This writer has two friends in two separate incidents that were killed by errant aliens. In both case, the aliens fled across the border to avoid vehicular manslaughter charges” (Thompson). The reality behind the Republican Party´s arguments against immigration is discrimination and racism. “They're bringing drugs. They're bringing crime. They're rapists” (Trump). Their statements are not based on evidence or statistics, but are huge generalizations.
Are Americans thinking about the world they are leaving behind for future generations? Some argue yes, but I disagree. If we are truly considerate of the future generations, global warming would not be a prominent issue. Americans are not seeking alternative sources for energy that do not omit harmful chemicals, thinning the ozone. It is hard to comprehend the damaging effects of our actions for the reason that they may not show for years. In order to better understand the harmful effects of numerous chemicals used in America and around the world, one must put his or herself in the shoes of a climatologist and study the changing climate. Data has proven countless times the climate is gradually getting warmer. This seemingly unimportant
ODM party in the past few days has witnessed members of the party exiting the party accusing party leader Raila Odinga for running the party as a family business. Raila who recently was among the guests who attended the nomination ceremony for the USA presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, is expected to return into the country and will his return after the USA tour bring wrangles in ODM to an end. His USA tour may have equiped him since he met other world politicians who might have advised him how he should lead the party that is almost collapsing ahead of 2017 election. According to sources, ODM/Cord will hold political rallies across the country to seek support ahead of 2017 elections after Raila returns into the country. Raila is facing

Greenpeace is an organization which often collides with governments in countries all over the world in its attempt to stop things like global warming, deforestation, overfishing and more. Greenpeace tries to reach their goals by direct action and lobbying. This is the part where they often collide with the governments.
The Green party had a goal for the campaigns of 2011 and 2014 to utilise a moderate overtone in their branding. The party sought to be more independent from the labour party, in order to gain more territory from the opposition. The focus was to make sure voters would see green policy applied, regardless of whichever major party won power. The Green party focus was to be seen as a party that would have the ability to influence government, and that every vote counted. During both the 2011 and 2014 campaign the ideals of the party was to achieve ‘good green change’. The target of the 2014 election was to receive 15 percent of the party vote and have 20 MPs. Although this was not achieved the Green Party maintained its overall 11 percent of the vote in both the 2011 and 2014 election (Green Party 2014).
