Lupe Vélez was a Latin American actress in Hollywood. Before Hollywood, the Mexican Revolution (1910) affected her family's fortune, so she began working as a vaudeville performer. She became well-known and when she made it to Los Angeles, she worked as an actress during the graveyard (or night) shift in Hollywood. The Spanish versions of the films were during the night while the English versions were during the day, which was one of the detriments she had to face. She was popular for her role in a comedy film, Mexican Spitfire, because it emphasized and portrayed her fiery personality on screen. The stereotype "The Name Game" was another obstacle she faced dealing with her name. The industry recommended that she should change her name because

With a great reputation for its historical significance, ‘Los olvidados’ (1951), a film shot in Mexico City, directed by Luis Buñuel, endorsed the defining point of his profession. Having studied the given excerpt of the script from a scene of the film, this report will not only portray intriguing political, historical and social aspects, but also the phonological, morphological and lexical aspects and how they influence the given content. The geographical location of this film has also proven to be of relevant influence. Buñuel succeeded to attract the wider world's interest into his work as it was his intention to make everyone realise the truth. Ironically, Buñuel being a surrealist director, Los olvidados was not a surreal film. It was the first film directly addressing not only the issues identified with the Mexican society but also Mexican cinema itself. From here, the attributes of Mexican cinema were perpetually replaced.

By the time the Mexican Revolution began, women were ready to be recognized fully for their talents and abilities. While many women chose to stay behind the scenes and care for the soldiers on the sidelines, like Camila in The Underdogs, there were equally as many women who chose to actively participate in the revolution. Women such as War Paint chose to become fighters, while others followed less dangerous paths (although many were equally as radical). Despite the fact that Camila and War Paint are both accurate representations of the women who chose the same paths during the revolution, there are still many different roles that women played during this time that Azuela does not acknowledge.

Thinking about historical experiences and analyzing their current relevance appears to be an important component of strategy development. Having to balance between political demands and military necessity (i.e., Luttwak’s linear versus paradoxical logic) further complicates strategic art. Regardless, as Corbett, Slessor, Wylie, and Luttwak’s books demonstrate, strategic thinking evolves through an iterative process to arrive at new concepts the fit within the social, political, and economic contexts of the strategist’s time. Although these authors demonstrate the evolution of 20th Century strategic thought, they also show the continuity of themes regarding the achievement of control through economy of effort, consideration of non-military

Both Lovato’s mother and father were involved in the music industry, so it only made sense she would one day fall in love with music as well. Not only was her mother a Dallas Cowboys cheerleader, she was also a recording country music artist (Cruz, 2015). Her father, Patrick Lovato, was a musician and a sound engineer. Lovato, herself, got into music at a young age, when she sang Celine Dion’s, My Heart Will Go On, at her kindergarten talent show. From then on, her mother and sisters knew she was gifted, and music would have a major impact on her life. Lovato’s music and acting career initially began in the pageant industry (Lovato et al., & Davis, 2017). Both she and her sister, Dallas, were in pageants growing up, thus providing her first taste of the spotlight. From there, Lovato got into the acting business.

Civil war erupts when newly elected Mexican president, Plutarco Elías Calles (Rubén Blades), begins a violent and relentless crackdown against the country's Catholic faithful. The film illustrates the tragic persecution of Mexico’s faithful by showing churches being set on fire, Catholic priests murdered and countless faithful peasants killed, then having their bodies publicly hang on telegraph poles as a warning to others. The story shifts to Father Christopher (Peter O’Toole), a Catholic priest, who is ruthlessly murdered by the Federales. A thirteen-year-old boy named José Luis Sanchez (Mauricio Kuri) witnesses the killing. Driven by anger and rage, he joins the rebels, or Cristeros ("soldiers for Christ"), fighting against Calles. Until the beginning of Spanish Civil War in 1936, Bunuel worked at Filmófono and by the end of the war in 1939 he was already in Hollywood. Even though he was deeply impressed by the American culture [9], he could not find the place he desired for himself in the film industry. Bunuel was invited to Mexico in 1946, where he lived and worked until 1964 and made 20 films. The life in Mexico was relatively easy for Bunuel as he was surrounded by a familiar culture and language. In 1950 he directed Los olvidados, one of his greatest films, which has been a turning point not only in Bunuel’s life but also for Mexican cinema. A group of poor children of Mexico City, living in a harsh and hostile world proves that our reality is not the best possible
