Eighty-seven percent of American scientists believe that a series of random chemical and biological events produced mankind. However, the philosophical "theory" of evolution has no solid evidence, whereas creation can be proven. Science is supposed to be based on observation, right? The best theories satisfy the test of experimentation. No one can test if evolution happened. Non one can prove that evolution actually happened. But what evidence can we place against evolution? In 1859, Charles Darwin published On the Origin of Species, introducing the theory of evolution. One hundred and fifty-six years later, scientists still accept this senseless philosophy. House Majority Leader Tom DeLay states, “Our school systems teach the children that they are nothing but glorified apes who are evolutionized out of some primordial soup” (Snyder). Schools worldwide have presented exactly this to the young, impressionable minds of your future doctors, engineers, scientists, and presidents. They assure us that if we give a small amount of mud enough time it can, by itself, bring about the art of da Vinci, the plays of Shakespeare, the music of Mozart, and the brilliant mind of Einstein. I would like you to take just a moment and think about this: For the smallest free-living thing to duplicate itself would need 239 separate protein molecules, each of which require at least 410 amino acids. The probability that the first protein molecules would create all its amino acids into left hand
The debate of whether Darwin’s theory of evolution or the theory of intelligent design is how life and the universe came to be is a very controversial topic that turns people against each other in hatred for the past two hundred years. It is still argued today whether mankind and was created due to evolution, or if an intelligent higher power created them. One significant event regarding this dissension occurred in Dover, Pennsylvania, in the year 2004, leading to the court case of Kitzmiller v. Dover Area School District, in which the citizens of Dover argued over the idea of teaching the theory of intelligent design alongside evolution in a 9th grade biology classroom. However, intelligent design is not scientific because there is not enough evidence to support it; therefore, intelligent design should not be taught in schools.
In 1859, Charles Darwin published his groundbreaking Origin of Species, which would introduce the seminal theory of evolution to the scientific community. Over 150 years later, the majority of scientists have come to a consensus in agreement with this theory, citing evidence in newer scientific research. In an average high school biology classroom, one may imagine an instructor that has devoted much of his life to science and a predominantly Christian class of about twenty-five students. On the topic of evolution, one of the students might ask, “Why would God have taken the long route by creating us through billion years of evolution?” while another student may claim “The Book of Genesis clearly says that the earth along with all living
Evolution and Creationism are both fact and theory but the question is which one should be taught in schools? Only a few school distracts have approved the teaching of evolution because it has more senitific evidence than creationism to prove that it is true. According to a new Gallup poll, just 39% of Americans believe in evolution. The Gallup polls also show that those Americans with higher education believe in the theory of evolution as opposed to those with only high school diplomas. The polls found that 74% Americans with post-graduate degrees believe in evolution theory compared to 21% of Americans with only high school diplomas. The Gallup polls suggest that the belief in the theory of evolution is associated with education.
Evolution has been a constantly debated topic with central importance in defining the origin of man. Creationism is still a common belief in modern society, somehow maintaining validity through assumed truth; this belief attained its popularity many years before the concept of evolution itself, yet is the main opponent of the theory of evolution. Alan Rogers, author of In Evidence for Evolution, provides thorough arguments against creationism, ranging from molecular to morphological data. He argues that many creationists use “arguments from personal incredulity,” meaning that a lack of a fathomable explanation to a question is proof of an answer. Creationists are strong proponents of these arguments; rather than acknowledging the
A scientific theory is an explanation of an aspect of the world, based on facts that have been frequently confirmed through observation and experiment or is often just speculations. Is evolution just a theory? Evolution is considered a valid scientific theory as it cannot be expressed in a concise mathematical equation so it is referred to as a theory, which does not make it more accurate than a law. Natural selection, comparative embryology, comparative anatomy, DNA and scientific contributions all support the theory of evolution.
Your original ideas have paved a pathway which allowed evolutionary theories to develop over time. Nearly all scientists have accepted your scientific ideas. Your evolutionary theory resulted in the development of ideas as to how life originated on earth. All your theories you founded on your voyage have also been accepted by most scientists and have shown support for many theories including yours of evolution and varying species. The theories of varying species you found on your journey around the globe showed evolution and genetic diversity globally, locally, and over time.
Darwin has many evolutionary theories. Scientists both believers and non-believers alike have researched and determined these theories to be false or impossible to improve. Scientist have argued amongst one another that complex organs could not have been created by tiny organisms in an evolutionary creation (Grudem, 136). Molecular biology has determined that no “being” could have transitioned from “simple organisms” (Grudem, 136). Suddenly over time random mixing chemicals could not have created life as evolutionists would like us to believe (Grudem, 136). Cross breeding another theory of evolution has been researched to discover that this could not have happened because of the “limited range of genetic variation” (Grudem, 136).
Evolutionary scientists mock creation by saying that it is unscientific because it is unobservable and lacks the ability to be tested. Evolution denies a need for God to be involved int he universe; they believe that it is all random design. Their theory is untested as well. Were they there one billion years ago? Did they observe how it happened? Both positions must be accepted by faith.
It is vital that present and future generations of school children in American public schools continue to be taught and understand Charles Darwin’s theories about evolution. Battles have been waged by Americans both in and out of the courtroom for generations so that educators may have the privilege to choose appropriate scientific curriculum for our students. If America is to continue to be a leader of scientific research, young minds must be educated, not stifled by attempts to bring religion into the schools. The very idea of using valuable time in our schools to muddy the educational process with ideas such as Creationism or Intelligent Design infringes upon American civil rights. To
The beginning of life on earth was always thought out as Gods creation and evolution was just a mystery in itself. Many people have always been interested in their origins and have found explanations using evidence that validates the story, but where is the proof? In 1859 a man by the name of Charles Darwin wrote a novel called the Origin of Species basically expressing the theory of evolution by natural selection. An extremely complicated story, but a very effective explanation of life as we know it. We can get more into that later. The world is evolving rapidly and in evolution we are trying to uncover hidden mechanisms inside creatures body’s that can explain extraordinary transformations that produce many different offspring’s.
Until now, evolution is still called a theory, it means that evolution can not be verified completely, though most of people believe creatures can evolve. Fossil evidence is the most intuitive way to observe the changes in the earth's biology, and most of the evolutionist supporters believe that fossils can show that evolution is real.
Since the beginning of time, there have been hundreds if not thousands of myths, legends, and beliefs of how the human race has come to be. Over the past hundred years, once thought to be candid beliefs are being pushed around by the scientific theory of evolution. The Bible was written over 1500 years ago without any scientific backing. Because of its widespread popularity, most people believe it is correct. When a majority of people believe in something most tend to stay and not wonder off because of what people will think of them if they do not believe in the same things. While the theory of evolution has scientific evidence and is relatively new in comparison, it only has around fifteen percent of the United States. Most will turn
I have observed several testimonies from both sides of the debate, that evolution leaves no room for creation to be possible. When I consider Darwin’s idea “that all life is related and has descended from a common ancestor,” I see the possibility that evolution does indeed leave room for creation. In the book of Genesis, the bible states God made man in his image, and the animals and vegetation it their image. So why could God, not be scientifically considered to be our ancestor?
Getting back to the subject of evolution and creation, I believe it is essential for future generations to make their own informed decisions, especially when pertaining to this particular matter. I am not opposed to the theory of evolution being taught, discussed, or researched in public school, college, or any other location in our universe for the matter. I am, however, opposed to any hypothetical theory being presented to our youth as the only option that can explain the origins of life, as that would be dangerously misleading. Society has a tremendous responsibility to ethically and impartially ensure that our children are provided with the facts, in order for them to expand on previous knowledge and shape a promising future. If society does not remain objective when considering the infrastructure of its systems, then it is doomed for failure. This is where I believe human evolution is most evident, that is to say we as a species have not physically evolved as rapidly as we have mentally, conceptually and socially evolved.
As times changed from rural work to the industrial era, the questions of society and individuality arose, bringing up theories from past figures such as Charles Darwin and his arguments on the real ancestors of humans, Immanuel Kant on enlightenment, and Jean-Paul Sartre on existentialism. With the rise of modernism and various forms of reform, the public came to question the religious truth of the Bible and looked to philosophers for answers, re-evaluating the meaning of mankind and the individuality of each person. These theories have revolutionized the modern concepts of the rise of man and brought about different outlooks on thinking that still holds true to this day.
