Brexiters are desperate and angry with everything and everyone that suggests that the British people should vote to remain in the European Union in the 23 June 2016 referendum. The recent victim of their desperation and ire has been no less a personage than the US President Barrack Obama himself. President Obama was in London recently to wish the Queen her happy 90th birthday and help Prime Minister David Cameron win the referendum in which the British people will vote whether they want to remain in the EU or leave. The Leave campaigners have sought to create a bubble that Britain outside the EU will be a prosperous paradise at the center of the universe, free from pesky European countries. But Obama punctured their bubble by announcing that Britain outside the EU will be less powerful, less secure, and less prosperous, and it will have to wait for five to 10 years to sign a trade agreement with the United States. That was shattering for the Leave campaign. Boris Johnson, the leader of the Leave campaign and mayor of London, was so angry that he descended into the invective. He said President Obama had anti-colonial mindset obtained from his Kenyan father. Although the reference was made to the removal of British Prime Minister Churchill 's from the Oval Office, the mayor was angry because of his intervention on behalf of the Remain campaign. The anger has been on the rise, especially after the latest opinion polls have given a slight edge to the Remain campaign over
The end of Barack Obama’s presidency marks last summit for Obama and his counterparts. The three reaffirmed their unified partnership which is important now, especially since the United Kingdom (U.K.) voted to leave the European Union. According to Camila Domonoske, “Official proceedings for the “divorce” have not yet begun. But repercussions of the decision are already multiplying.” Did the U.K. weigh the pros and cons? From the article by Bryony Jones, CNN informs us, “U.K. is headed downhill.

In recent years, it has been increasingly apparent that European Parliament election turnout is on the decline, with just 35.6% of British citizens casting their vote in 2014. This is remarkably low, especially when viewed alongside other national decisions such as the referendum for Britain to leave the European Union, which received a staggering 72.2% turnout. However, this decline was not
With diminishing control of what happens in Britain, the British people decided it was best to vacate the union. The British were dealing with the laws given by the European members who were not living and experiencing the country themselves. To provide an example of a ghastly law given to the British people, they, as part of the European Union, were only allowed to catch 20% of the fish swimming in British territorial waters. What this meant was that tens of thousands of jobs were lost and they were not able to use one of the most significant resources given to them, as Britain is surrounded by ocean. Nigel Farage, Leader of the UK Independence Party, says that his fellow Englishmen, “effectively gave away the ability to look after one of our greatest resources to a bureaucracy based in Brussels.” Because of the way the government was set up, “Not only could the voters not change anything, but the institutes themselves are incapable of reform.” With an already maimed government, the European Union was creating more problems than it was solving. The British people had enough of giving up their rights as British citizens so the European Commission could tell them how to live. Therefore, with problems like those arising from the Union and with no hope to resolve them, Britain filed for secession and pulled out of the union
Barack Obama did a great job protecting our city. He have made some great decisions, and excellent out comes. He wonted our city to come out with a better outcome with our president. He wanted a president to do better than he was doing. He kept refreshing the news to make sure his eyes was reading the right winner of the election 2016. Really appreciated him very much, and wish you could serve another term in the White House.
Today we gather to say farewell to a righteous soul, someone who has not only touched us individually but has influenced the whole world. Someone we knew and respected, as a colleague, family member, mentor and above all, a friend. Some of the first things I first noticed was his charisma, his willingness to help others, his humour and above all his intelligence. These traits allowing him to face his personal hardships but also allowed him to help others face their hardships in the community.
President Obama is often criticised for being emotionally aloof, for being too calm, deliberative. But today, after convening his national security council, his anger came to the fore as he delivered this presidential rebuttal, a general at his side, to Donald Trump and his demand for a ban on Muslims entering America.
There is no doubt that Brexit has caused a divide amongst the UK population, with 52 to 48 percent in favor of leaving. “Take back control” has been at the forefront of the Brexiter’s campaign. It is argued the UK Parliament has lost its power since joining the European Union (EU) in 1973.
Since 1973 when the British first joined the European Union their membership has been a controversial issue. When conservatives in the United Kingdom won the general election in 2015, their election manifesto promised to hold a referendum on whether or not the United Kingdom should stay or leave the European Union. The referendum also referred to as “Brexit” is scheduled to take place by the end of 2017. The United Kingdom initially joined the union to be part of the common market for the purpose of trade and to develop international relationships. The main argument for those who are pro Brexit is that being part of the European Union is too costly for the United Kingdom, that the EU has grown to large, has interfered to far into
Since election to power Prime Minister, David Cameron, has embarked on a renegotiation mission in an attempt to improve public opinion of union membership. Mr Cameron has highlighted four key areas in which he is seeking reform. These areas are:
Leave campaigners believe that leaving the EU is most beneficial for England. Their conservative and old-fashioned views further reinforce their belief.
What is Brexit? Brexit is the shorten way of referring to two words which are “British” and “Exit”. The situation that British exited from European Union. So, what is European Union? According to (Hunt,A. & Wheeler,B. 2016) The European Union - often known as the EU - is an economic and political partnership involving 28 European countries. The EU has a single market which is the agreement between the countries’ member in EU to allow goods, service, money or even people to move freely within the EU. The Single market was to create job employment, increase the trade and lower the prices. Even though, the European Union has many advantages but why British wanted to leave the Union? Because there are some disadvantages that had made British
Brexit is a term commonly known as Britain exiting from European Union membership. The historic referendum on the UK and EU membership held on June 23, 2016. Although majority of Londoner wanted to stay with EU, 52 percent voters voted to support the leave campaign to leave European Union. Since World War two the world saw a rising trend of economic development and globalization in Europe. Brexit has ended this trend. Since United
It is precise that we begin by explaining the meaning of the term “Brexit”; it is a portmanteau of the words “Britain” and “Exit”, which was just one of the terms for the results of the 2016 referendum, the other one was “Bremain” (Britain and remain) which was a lot less promoted and controversial. For the 2016 referendum, 52% of the votes went for Britain leaving the European Union, in a poll with 72% of participation, a total of 33.577.342 votes, 17.410.742 for Brexit and 16.577.342 for Britain staying in the European Union (BBC World, 2016). England voted for Brexit, by 53.4% to 46.6%, as did Wales, with Leave getting 52.5% of the vote and Remain 47.5%. Scotland and Northern Ireland both backed staying in the EU. Scotland backed Remain by 62% to 38%, while 55.8% in Northern Ireland voted Remain and 44.2% Leave (Hunt and Wheeler, 2016).
One of the main objectives of the European Union (EU) is the establishment of the internal market, which shall consist of “area without internal frontiers in which the free movement of goods, persons, services and capital is ensured. The internal market is based upon a customs union achieved through the abolition of the imposition of customs duties and charges having an equivalent effect and the prohibition of discriminatory taxes on intra-EU imports. The internal market is enhanced by the provisions on free movement of workers, freedom of establishment, free movement of services, and free movement of capital. Whereas Articles 28 to 30 of the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union (TFEU) provide for the establishment of an EU common external tariff and the elimination of customs duties, Articles 34 and 35 of the TFEU (with exceptions under Article 36) go further, and prohibit quantitative restrictions and measures having equivalent effect. Taken together, Articles 28 to 32 and 34 to 36 serve to ensure the free movement of goods within the EU and to facilitate the operation of the internal market.
