Week 5 Assignment: Community Landscape Project (page 1/5) Student: Tony Donnelly Student ID Number: 15505693 Risk Analysis: Introduction: Milestones are indicators that are inserted into a programme at points of strategic activity. These milestones enable us to track specific events so we can identify certain conditions through the course of a project. In the case of our landscape project we have five milestones inserted into our Gantt chart. They are at task 2 Design backyard, task 4 Get quotes for purchases, task 5 get quotes for contractors, task 11 level yard and task 20 make payments. The significance of these milestones is to enable the team to identify where the key elements of the project are, in terms of risk …show more content…
The landscaping will involve clearing the existing site, levelling the ground, creating a new paved parking area and creating a new walkway. Two new trees will be planted and a new bench will be installed. The programme is on schedule and within budget: Introduction: The project was set up and progress started on 31st August and is proceeding as planned in agreement with our client. The project is managed from our head office Essential services, electric, water and welfare etc. and the storage facilities are all provided by client on site. As to date, Friday 9th September all programmed tasks have been completed as schedule, to wit; Appropriate purchases have been made. This will ensure availability of the materials to ensure smooth operation of programme progress. The existing area has been cleared and the dustcart will be removed on Monday. Milestones have been inserted in the programme and all identified risks have been documented in the risk register and they are being closely monitored. Daily meeting are conducted at the end of each day to enable team members to report the status of the project Those members that have tasks open, Wysocki (2009), attend the meeting and report on the status of the task. This information is compared to the programme and this information is
goals are likely to be met. They are benchmarks in the process of a project that indicate
* Adoption of appropriate methods and mechanics (i.e. strategic road map, target resource split, strategic buckets) for aligning these strategic goals with the project portfolio;
Justify why you chose your milestones. (Hint: use milestones from the scope statement or look for key merge or burst activities.)
The targets for scope, time, and cost are defined in the middle of a project.
The following activity is for the seven month period from January to September 2015. There are some tasks that are identified that overflow from the time as a LEIDOS contractor, which I have identified in italics.
VG is a thirty-one-year-old female who comes in for a routine follow-up. She reports that she has been feeling excessive fatigue over the last month. She also notes that she is having some problems at work, not only because of her fatigue but also because of difficulty concentrating. She also notes that she has gained 10 pounds over the last month, and she is unable to identify the cause of the weight gain. She also notes that her periods are a little heavier and more irregular. She is currently taking daily ferrous sulfate and over-the-counter calcium. According to VG’s medical record, she had a TSH level of 4.2 mIL/L about a year ago. Although, Her previous blood levels were slightly elevated, VG’s previous medical provider did not schedule retesting as, no further follow-up lab was deemed necessary at the time. Repeat blood work today reveals a TSH level of 9.8 mIL/L and a free T4 of 0.72 ng/dL.
* Enter the predecessor(s) for each task in the Predecessors column. If there is no duration or predecessor listed, leave the column blank. Note: If you do not see the Predecessors Column, move the vertical line between the Entry Form and the Gantt Chart to the right to reveal the column. Click on the line and drag to move it. Columns can be expanded or contracted individually to accommodate information the same way column width is adjusted in MS Excel.
Stakeholders will have several goals to fulfill to accomplish this mission. The goals will allow the stakeholders to complete the project on time, within budget, and with few problems, while providing milestones for a successful project. These goals are:

Measurable – All tasks will be listed, allocated and assigned to the most appropriate person within the Quality department. Expected completion dates will be set, weekly progress meeting held to monitor the project and the associated tasks. The goal is to complete all the tasks by the 31 January 2013.
All milestones were met; but there was not a risk management plan established. Recommendations: Plan a procedure of determining how to organize and implement risk management actions during the course of the life cycle a project. This will help avoid any enormous setbacks.
26th July, Week 8: Workshop/Presentation/Meeting to discuss project outcomes and introduce resource at IP team meeting

Achieving project outcomes within agreed time-scales, budget and resources it very important because it will allow the project to be well organised and successful. They are both negative and positive impacts if these project are not achieved within the agreed time-scale, budget and resources.
By the end of January the landscaping site works were finished and the irrigation system was installed. Planting was to be done in three phases i.e. shrubs, bushes and small trees first, the larger trees and finally the lawn. Shrub planting would like approximately 4 days, tress 7 days and the lawn would be laid in three separate operations over 2 days.
